What a fine young man and a great group. I went through a similar experience. My father left when I was seven. He called me 17 years later on the phone, because he knew it was time and he was dying. He got to meet his granddaughter at that point she was a few years old. She even called him Grandpa. That experience stayed with me till this day and I am now 58 years old. It has shaped me. It is caused me to make mistakes, yet it has also allowed me to try to be a better person. To try to be a man of value. I also shed a tear when I saw this young man pour his heart out. God bless.

Going through my own divorce... felt the kick behind the song. Very thoughtful and meaningful. 11+ years of marriage, 3 children later, my second serious relationship after my high school sweetheart (met my ex-wife when I dated my high-school sweetheart). Sad part, my son is a Christmas baby and my 3 children out of no where ask me for a new mom when making a wish to blow out the candle. Broke my heart.
