@@joycegibbs5267I think she said that a bit flippantly. They couldn’t not be close really because they were with each other constantly for years. Nicola, Cheryl and Kimberley were/are best friends and Nadine and Sarah were also close friends, but there was definitely a divide between those two groups in the band.

@@Dmattmc Yes it also happened in The Temptations but these things happen. They should also be proud because they all put their differences aside for Sarah. Alot of Girlgroup Icons to this day don't do this sort of thing. They just released a book in america called but will you still love me tomorrow where past girl group icons come together to talk about what they went through beginning in the 1950's. Many of them came out of their career with nothing.

I think the bright spot in her death is that the girls seem closer. I know prior to all this it was more Nadine and Sarah were close and nic, Cheryl and Kim were close but since her passing the fragility of life has shown that no matter what, they are all connected in a way and we need to cherish our relationships. Also appreciate Nadine’s openness on her denial. I have yet experienced this type of loss but I would probably feel the same as well and it’s a very valid emotion in times like that.

I think Nadine was the closest to Sarah, so it must to be hard to lose her like that.

Feel so sorry for the girls. Sarah dying has floored them. It’s not what we expected. God bless you Sarah. You touched the lives of so many. X

I am a bit surprised kimberley isn't there, even just to show face. I'd always got the impression it was Nadine who was the least in contact with the other girls. Good for them to run in Sarah's memory and of course in memory of everyone who life's have been affected by this disease. Edit: Have just read that kimberley is doing the walk from another location so that's put my gas at a peep.

I think she meant it in a nice way. Like Nadine was in denial and probably needed a talking too that look Nadine, there is no tour or future she's dying. But Cheryl summed it up nicely that we all act differently in grief. So Nadine knew full well the outcome she just didn't want to think about it which is her grief xx

I don't think Nicola was wrong to point out her concern about Nadine's denial. I had the same experience. When my dad was dying my mom was in denial and she held onto every little positive feedback. But when my dad passed away it was so traumatic for her. I talked to my sister about my mom's denial because it concerned me alot. Sometimes ppl don't want to hear the truth because they can't handle it. I knew on day one that he was going to die and when he did pass away I knew he was at peace and all that struggle was finally over. I felt when I saw him in his coffin I had passed through the toughest part of grief and accepted it.

It was weird what Nicola said to Nadine, people process things so differently. I'm in denial as a fan. I recognise Sarah is gone, but that's where it ends. It's like new information again when I see something like this and am reminded she really is no longer with us. I listen to their music without thinking about the fact Sarah will never sing that song again. So as Nadine is one of Sarah's closest friends, I can completely understand if her response is the denial. It's traumatic and understandable why she may not want to face the reality of one of her closest friends being gone. They should have the means so I hope they all get the right help to process it all 💕

Although I never really looked into their personal lives and just enjoyed their music, Sarah's death brought me to learn more about them from the celebrity perspective. Her book "Hear me out" gives a very good picture on her life and how she lived it. She wrote as she was fighting the battle and it's incredibly profound. Plus there are two contributions from Nadine and Cheryl. Highly recommended.

Nicola has never liked Nadine, they have never been friends and didn't get along. She's often very childish towards her.

So sad watching this i totally agree with Nicola that Sarah had the biggest energy of all the girls in the band without a doubt but regardless of any friction in the past and nicola cheryl and Kimberly being more closer than Nadine and sarah they never hated each other they were in a band for 7 years together so regardless of who was friends with who im sure their has always been a lot of love and respect for each other but the fact they have come together for the sake of Sarah and carry out her last wishes is amazing and they should all be so proud because im sure Sarah would be girls aloud were such an iconic band in their time and between the age of 9 to 16 their music was a big part of my live went to their ten tour in Dublin in 2013 and it was incredible Sarah will be forever missed by all the fans because she truly was the brightest star in that band may she RIP

Meh. I’ve always felt Nadine didn’t like Cheryl, even from day one. Just a clash of personalities I think. I don’t think Cheryl disliked Nadine, but did pick up on the tabloids saying that there was hostility between the two. And to be fair neither Nadine or Cheryl denied it.

They have spoken a lot about her. Especially Kim, Nicola and Nadine. I don't think Cheryl is coping as well as the others yet.

At the end of the day unless you have gone through grief and experience traumatic pain in your everyday life you will never know the true feeling of loss and how much you should try to value and appreciate everyone in life as you never know when you may never see them again! Simple acts of kindness and respect can make anyone that maybe struggling just the tiniest bit better inside!

I lost my Grandma when I was 13 and I lost my cat a year later in 2016 aged 14 Then in 2018 at the age of 15 I lost my Grandad I know what grief feels like

I think you are all taking Nicolas comment up wrong, she was just airing her genuine opinions about Nadines denial and Nadine agreed with her. If you have a look at Nicolas Insta herself and Nadine were hanging out together last Xmas. They have made up since the split.

This is the first time I see Nicola shows empathy to others, especially to Nadine. I hope they are closer friends now than 11 years ago. It was sad to see a division back then until Sarah’s passing.

I loved GA growing up but I can't forget over the years how Sarah talked about how she wasn't in touch with Cheryl, Nicola or Kimberley. It was really Nadine and Sarah then the other three. They shared something the 5 of them for a big portion of their lives but to act like nothing was ever wrong and that they were always best friends is not right. They only came to Sarah's bedside when she was forced to share her cancer diagonosis on Instagram after being spotted at the hospital. I felt bad for Nadine as you can see Cheryl is trying to include Nadine in the conversation and Nicola's comments were a little cold.

They were kids when they got together and people naturally gravitate to some people more than others. It's amazing that 3 of them managed to stay so close. Sarah and Nadine weren't exactly best friends, they were just closer to each other than they were to the others. That is natural and normal. Nicola and Nadine have become closer since Sarah was sick, but they are also older. Relationships grow and evolve as we get older. Why people need to read something sinister into everything I don't know.

The issue wasn't when they first joined the band, it was when they split whilst all in their late twenties and that's when the rfit began. It is sinister when people suddenly change the way they saw someone in life to the way they talk about them in death. Three of the members of GA openly bashed Sarah & Nadine in interviews. Why do you think Nadine was never around Kimberley, Cheryl or Nicola after they split? Nadine & Sarah may have not remained close but I know that Cheryl was not even aware of Sarah's diagnosis til she was forced to post it on Instagram after it was about to be leaked by the media. She didn't even tell her former bandmates she had cancer and that speaks volumes.

​@@laurastitanic I like Nadine unconditionally, but don't gloss over the facts that she held the band ransom at different stages of their career, and nearly jumped ship and fucked off to America to go solo when Chemistry underperformed in the charts. She's always had a bit of a big ego since day one - having appeared on the Irish Popstars, she probably thought it had given her the edge. All the "Nadine is the voice of the band" comments only exacerbated all that, but, to put it lightly, that didn't really translate into the massive success she'd probably imagined in her head. To make matters worse, all the girls, including Sarah, have noted that Nadine had the nastiest work attitude (tardy, diva etc). That had given Kimberley (who was the de-facto manager during the band's earlier days) quite a headache, which was especially tough considering she and Nadine were very close in those days. Maybe Kim thought that Nadine was exploiting their friendship - I don't really know. Last, but not least - Nadine has a bit of a reputation of being a liar. That was literally what kickstarted her career, in a way. I don't know about you, but I think it's only natural that people don't really gravitate towards individuals like Nadine.

Kimberly is more machiavellian. She attached herself to Nadine in the beginning.

I would be interested to know just how close they all were (not that it really matters anymore). But my gut feeling is the fame and fortune changed these girls in so many ways and ultimately in girl groups you have tension and friction, it pretty much happens in all girl groups. I got the impression Cheryl didn't keep in touch with Sarah toward the end. Kimberly seems the most down to earth in my opinion. I know Nadine went to LA and made something of herself there, so distance would've made a distance to their bond. I think Sarah was a great personality. Also down to earth and LOVED her life. So sad it was cut short. I sense they will release another single in dedication to Sarah x:(x

You can tell that nadine has been hit a little differently by Sarah’s passing, most people feel uncomfortable talking about a best friend they have lost and maybe that’s why she didn’t say much. I did like how Cheryl instantly defended Nadine after Nicole’s odd comment, it shows how they have both mended bridges after their falling out as they were the ones that seemed to fight the most

Anyone with emotional intelligence watching this can clearly read that Nadine was on the verge of tears so Cheryl being the main one who has done the most interviews naturally took the lead to save face and answer the reporters questions nicely and give praise and respect to Sarah. I think Nicola’s comment about being concerned about Nadine’s reaction was inappropriate and insensitive- denial is a natural reaction and it may have then felt like an even bigger blow for nadine when she did pass. But it was kind of Cheryl to defend her and ease the tension by pointing out everyone reacts differently

while the comment in such a situation was indeed a misstep, id say its just as much normal for someone to worry about how a friend is reacting with a death as it is normal for a person to have such a reaction to losing a close friend.

Well I think your comment is inappropriate and insensitive. They are all grieving and Nicola was just expressing concern for a friend, who, if she had stayed in denial, might have been hit even harder by the loss and gone into a spiral. The only thing I think Nicola gets wrong here, is the one who is coping the least well following Sarah's death. Cheryl may not have been the closest friend to Sarah, but she looks absolutely done in by everything. I think the other 3 girls are stronger emotionally. I'm not a big fan of Cheryl but she looks crushed.

CANCER I hate that word I have lost my Dad to Lymphoma Cancer. 2 years later I lost my mom to bone cancer. 18 months after mom. My oldest brother to bowel cancer. Then a year after that my baby sister got cancer and it was so aggressive that it took 2 weeks from us finding out she had it to her dying. Then my baby brother got throat cancer and we lost him 3 weeks ago. So yer I hate that f**king word. Cancer a simple word but leaves so much damage

@@23alfie but you’re not staying her book. So maybe use what Sarah said in that and how the other 4 were rocks to her. She even let Cheryl write a segment in her book to discuss how she was dealing with it because she stated Cheryl was constantly checking in and supporting during her treatment. If they wanted to do it for publicity they’d have done interviews straight away and took money to discuss but they waited till they were ready to do a charity even which Sarah said she wanted them to do. Honestly you clearly weren’t brought up correctly if you feel you have to comment shit on stuff like this. Either say something nice or nothing at all.

Celebrities might have money and all that but they are human with emotions like the rest of us it's sad for them

So what? Where is it written in law that we have to stay in contact with everyone we've ever known. Are you in touch with everyone you went to school with, people you spent every day for years with? They were put together, forced to spend time with people they might not be that close to and when they disbanded, they went their separate ways. Just like most of us at school. Why does there always have to be something negative or sinister about it? And stop talking like Sarah & Nadine were best mates. They may have been friendlier than the others, but they were never best friends.

Gosh! Could Nicola be any more insensitive. Poor Nadine

I’ll be the first to admit that Nadine was my least favourite of the band. Best singer of the group by miles, no argument there. But I didn’t like how aloof and almost arrogant she was, definitely the least personable of them. And I didn’t like the fact she seemed to have a personal grudge towards Cheryl. Although I do think Sarah’s passing has softened that relationship between them. Having said that I feel very sorry for Nadine. Sarah was like a big sister to her and her death absolutely destroyed Nadine in a way more profound than the other three. It’s very sad that that iconic quintet is no longer.

Yeah I did wonder about that for a minute cos I thought Nadine and Sarah had implied they were made to feel like outcasts by the others so I hope it was genuine.

So what? They may not have got on that well but they still cared about each other. They were a bunch of young kids, put in a forced situation where they had to work together. It's so childish to expect them to be best friends and to stay besties forever like they are a bunch of school kids. They were colleagues, some became closer than others, end of story. Nothing sinister, nothing bad, just natural and normal. Grow up.

I agreed. Cheryl, Kimberley and Nicola weren’t there for Sarah, when she was alive as I don’t see them. Have Sarah in their circle of friends of activity.

Kimberley is the only true and honest person out of the four, this four see an opportunity to get noticed again 🥱 sarah I would imagine would have seen right through it , bless her heart ❤ cheryl actually looks more like her madam to swords wax model , God bless you what have you done to yourself 😢.

Erm, trying to stand there & express grief publically would be very difficult. If you bought & read Sarah's book, you'd have known Sarah forgave everything she wasn't bitter. Don't associate blessings of god with bitter toxic comments like yours.
