The scene that broke me was Max sobbing about how she couldn’t feel or see and how scared she was. Lucas looking around not knowing what to do to help her but stroke her hair and tell he knows she is scared. It was so chilling to me. 😭😭 I cant even imagine.

Seriously with Max and Eddie dying so close together I was a sobbing hot mess. Absolutely broke me into tiny little pieces. Shows how phenomenal the acting and writing is for this show.

Yeah I think El pumped Max’s heart/re-started her heart with her mind. So her body is functioning but her mind currently isn’t… but I agree, I think it has something to do with the fact that she was still under Vecna’s control when he was attacked by Nancy and them, so when he retreated to wherever he went, he took her with him. So they’ll have to work next season to get her mind/soul back. That’s what I think too.

The sword Hop picks up was from when the prisoners were fighting the demogorgon. Interesting to note, it’s actually a replica of the sword used in Conan the Barbarian. And Hop poses the same as Arnold Schwarzenegger does in Conan. Super cool easter egg IMO

I can't believe how people never remember where the sword came from. It's from episode 7 during the fight with the demogorgon. The prisoners could choose whatever weapon the wanted from the weapon closet, Hopper chose a spear remember ?!

People forget that El was being trained to remotely assassinate people. So when you think about it, she’d be able to restart someones heart as equal to stopping one.

The sword was there because that's where they kept all the weapons for the prisoners to use in their attempts to fight the Demogorgon. Remember when Hopper and the other prisoners grabbed spears and all those other weapons.

I think El put pressure directly on her heart to make it beat again. People sometimes stop and come back when given CPR. Remember when she made that bully pee himself and Dustin said "she squized your little bladder"?

The "darkness" was just chilling in the upside down until Henry shaped and weaponized it. It looks like a spider because little Henry is obsessed with spiders

Eddie definitely could’ve avoided that but it was great to see his bravery and courage! And Dustin’s talk to his uncle was just heartbreaking it was finally his year!!. Max and Lucas’s scene officially broke me and Caleb’s “erica help” was improvised I think they all deserve Emmy’s tbh. It was a great szn! I’d love being here to watch it with you guysss.

Liked your comment but I don’t think Eddie could have avoided that. They may have followed him to the other side. It would have put Dustin and other innocent people in Hawkins at risk. Plus he’s a wanted man. Even after the “earthquake” people still labeled Eddie a murderer. There was really no way out for him. Either be the hero and help save your friends and Hawkins, or manage to get safe and spend the rest of your life in prison for crimes you didn’t commit. I hate that they killed him off, but it was a fitting end for his character. I’m glad Dustin gave his uncle closure. This episode in its entirety was sad. It was amazing though and I’m looking forward to season 5!

@@zaleahpalmer5154 He could've avoided it, but the bats would've either broken down the door and poured through gate or gone back to the Creel house and swarmed Robin/Steve/Nancy. Leading the bats away prevented those things from happening. Killed two birds with one pair of planet-sized balls. .

I think because of Chrissy's death and made him very guilty for running away he could have saved himself and Dustin they could have both been safe but you know Eddie was a hero and he was great

The moment when the rest of them show up in Hawkins and El and Lucas hug at the hospital always gets me🥺

Best scene, Hoppers sword fight with the Demogorgon/Steve, Robin, Nancy, lightning up Vecna. That mix of “running up that hill.” Phenomenal. The music in the last scene where they’re all stood on the hill is some movie blockbuster kind of theme, amazing.

Vecna said that the people who kills him are still with him in here, pointing his head. Papa also said Henry consumes the mind of his victims. Maybe because el restated her heart with her powers Max's body is alive but she is in a coma because her mind/conciseness is with vecna. This would explain why el couldn't find max when she tried to enter her mind. Hopefully next season they can find a way to bring her consciences back to her body from vecna and she can wake up and recover.

max isn't dead but my theory is that she's brain dead and that's why vecna can't make the psychic connection with her to truly kill her. Since he needs another sacrifice to carry out his plan, he's gonna go after will since he's back in Hawkins and they've been connected already. But if max never wakes up, they all have the letters she wrote them.

I'm still split on whether or not I believe she's using her powers to beat Max's heart for her, I'm leaning towards no because I would imagine she'd have a constant nosebleed. It's probably more likely that she just restarted her heart and doesn't need to pump it manually.

Lucas screaming for max literally broke me

I was drowning in my tears this ep, y’all did so much better. Ngl for a second when it zoomed on Bryce crying I was like 😱 rude as hell don’t call out my boy like that lol. Then he mentioned it later and I’m ok 😂😅 I’m with Rob, love the sword fight, love the title song coming in. I thought the editing and color blocking was seamless. I just love the color of the upside down in general. I don’t know that Vecna necessarily created the mind flayer but I feel like he contained and organized it (particles/cloud), then controlled it. That’s my speculation. My least fav part of this was the satanic panic storyline. I know we all hated Jason, but the whole thing in general felt hardly fleshed out and didn’t have a ton of in-text repercussions/condemnations. For instance, we have that scene where the townspeople totally disregard the sheriff and then nothing really after that. I think we already had so much material this season and everything so heavy, there wasn’t much balance on that end. I’m hoping in the next season they do a little more with that versus having it muddled in the background and using it as a convenient piece to attack Lucas. Tired of seeing him get beat up as well 😡

The El and Hopper reunion gets me in the feels literally every time.

The kid who plays Lucas did some serious acting in this episode ❤ it was his emotion that made me emotional. Dustin too tbh.

Eddie stays to distract the Demobats from going through the door to real Hawkins. They never expected them to break in to the trailer. When Dustin tells Eddie's uncle he stayed to protect the town he was telling the truth

Jason`s death, WOW! This season did not hold back from it`s kills and they nearly had the balls to kill Max off.

There are a lot of sad scenes this season but nothing tops Dustin talking with Eddie's Uncle.

Vecna is the mindflayer, he twisted the clouds into the shape of it. It was what he drew when he was a kid to kind of resemble a spider.

Remember when Nancy was saying that Vecna showed her the future. She said that the portals had opened up and horrible creatures came out to kill everyone. Well Max dying allowed the portals to open up but El making her heart beat again stop the creatures from coming out. Now El has to get Max's mind back from Vecna. Remember Henry said every time he kills he keeps their mind. 😳 Yikes!

Best season hands down. Absolutely incredible writing and acting. This last episode had me an emotional mess. Can't wait for season 5.

Where the X meets after the 4th portal is open, is in The Library. Oddly enough, in S1, when Hopper and Joyce found Will in the Upside Down, he was in The Library. Coincidence? I don't think so, lol.

Max will probably stay trapped within Vecna's mind, and Season 5 will find the group entering his mind to fight him. Max joins the fight from within, but she cannot return to her real body since it's basically dead, so she makes her friends promise that after the fight is over, they'll let her go and pull the plug.

My guess is since this is the final season, they are going to put a lot of focus on the original core cast. I predict that Max in season 5 will be a lot like Will in season 1: technically there, but not a whole lot of screen time.

Vecna did create the mind flayer the black smoke that was in the air was there but he created the look of it and he’s been in the show all along he was the Demogorgan and everything upside down related 😭

Vecna made a portal big enough for something bigger and more powerful then him and the mindflayer... There is one dnd creature that would fit perfectly in this show and one that wouldn't be effected by fire. That would be Borys the red dragon. Literally the exact color of the lightning we see in the upsidedown. And Nancy mentioned something about a lot of fire and a giant creature she saw in the vision Vecna showed her 👀

If y’all remember, The sword was there because that is where the prisoners fought the demigorgon and the Russians gave them those types of weapons before they released it, it was left over

this episode is destined for so many awards. especially from a music design standpoint. its beautiful. the sequences.

The Mind Flayer is Vecna. Vecna/001 being the puppeteer of The Upside Down is makes so much sense. I knew he wasn't gonna be just a 5 star general. He's too good a villian to be disposed of in one season.

first time i watched it, i sobbed troughout the entire episode. stil cry on multiple scenes, i will never get over that episode

Even if El sent 1 there, into the upside down, she did not make him a monster, he was in himself already enough of a monster with his rampage against the world and the number of people he killed, El only unknowingly gave him more ability and potential. Like he said, he was 'always meant to be that', he truly believed in it before ever seeing the upside down

There are so many heart wrenching scenes this episode, by far the best season yet, the cinematography was crazy so was the parallels between everyone while they were fighting! The way my dad and I were sobbing this whole episode, they did Eddie and max wrong though! Your guy’s reaction was everything!

Mindflayer is vecena.El discovered the power of bringing things back to life. Plus the fight for hopper was the physical version of DND,which is a sweet love letter from the writers. I've been thinking about this...Nancy saw her diary was dated the day Will went missing with nothing wrote in it. So this means the Upside-down is stuck back in time. So What if Nancy wrote everything that has happened in her diary in the upside down. Would Nancy back in 1983 in the real world see it and then be able to save Barb and Max along with everyone else? Or at the end of season 5 the whole show was just a D&D Campaign and everything is ok.

It's cause the gate opened the day Will went missing as far as I remember. And that stopped the growth of the upside-down. Also, all of this being a campaign would be too disappointed cause we all relate to these people knowing it's actually happening in the story. But if somehow these people could come back to life I'd be happier than ever.

I wonder why we didn’t get to see Murray, Enzo and Uri at the end? Murray basically saved the day.

15:12 it's one of the weapons the prisoners could pick before fighting the demogorgon. Pretty sure one of the guys who died when Hopper and Enzo survived chose that sword and it stayed on the ground since then. They just run away, the guards probobly didn't have time to clean the ring properly. We don't know how much time passed between the team escaping and the monsters attacking the prison but they came back after just one night of sleep and everyone was already dead
