The isunerg or vehpro or sunyima (they are all the same) MPPT charge controller 100a; is it worth it, and does it make sense?
For business inquires email: TheRacer204@yahoo.com
Here is the description from their amazon listing; it actually clearly states that this device IS an MPPT controller, but it isn't. It is, however, a great charge controller for the money! It gives you a lot of information about your battery, which so many charge controller fail to do. I think its worth every penny.

Mine keeps shutting down. I connect inverter straight to battery and it's holding the charge for few minutes, but won't do it through charge controller. I tested the output amp it's like 5amps, so 10amp output controller should be able to handle 5amp. I'm trying to run slow cooker at low power and the controller shuts down. And my load auto is always off not sure why?

I had one of these for over a year. Works great when battery type is set right. It finally crapped out. So I bought another to hold me over until i get an actual real mppt. This new replacement sucks. Will not give me more than 2 amps from the panels. Normally id be at 11amps. And does not charge my batteries fully. So these are a hit or miss. First one was awesome...second junk. Just the push i need to upgrade.

Hi, thanks for video!. I've got a similar unit. 50A. How do you set it so it continues to charge from the solar panel when it get to the 12.4 mark (under load)? Mine is allowing my batteries(2) to run past the 12.1v mark. i have recharged them now several times past 12.4 v ( 50%). This instructions don't give any info.As well, what is the setting to allow the proper incoming wattage from the solar panel? I have two batteries hooked together. (pos to pos, neg to neg). batteries are: 12V 100Ah AGM Sealed Lead Acid - UB121000. Solar panels are two 160w Newpowa panels.

Question from South Africa: We have an old 6 x 12 V North Star 172 Ah battery system ( 1032 Ah) driven by 8 x 120 W solar panels (960 W) via a 20 A charge controller that was recently replaced by a 100 Ah charge controller as depicted above. 220 V power is generated through one 1000 W MSW inverter and interchangeable (by swopping the plugs) with two 800 modified sine-wave inverters depending on the load requirements. Recently the circuit breaker between the solar panels and the charge controller has tripped continuously when the five partitioned indicator shows full charge filling all five blocks. Can anyone advise how to rectify this problem please? Have been told it could be a short on the panels, the system being too old (20 years operating till now) to the charge controller being the wrong application.

If you have 8 100 watt solar panels you have to separate them into smaller strings of panels. Meaning put only a certain amount of panels on one wire. Then put the others on another wire. The reason for this is that 10 guage wire is only sized for 30 amps of power. (As an indicator, do you see heat damage on your wire? ) Well... if you do the math you are probably double the allotted amps on your 10 guage wire. 10 guage wire is standard for solar power. So that means your wire is getting really hot and sending concentrated power into your circuit breakers. That's probably what is tripping them. 10 guage wire is basically only about 4 panels. 4 panels is bouncing around 6 amps to 8 amps of power PER EACH solar panel. And that calculation is based on a 100 watt panel. You said yours are 120 watt panels, which means add about 20%... you are probably way over the limit. And what can happen is that if you have too much power going through the wire, it will go up and try to fry/burn the solar charge controller, or it will trip the circuit breaker. You may have to have 2 strings of wires from the panels. And that might cause you to need a second charge controller also because most charge controllers only have 1 slot for wires incoming. OR you could upgrade the wire guage to something that can handle higher amps. Your 20 amp charge controller... there was no way it would have been able to do 8 solar panels. Think Ohms law... 120 watts in 12 volts that's 10 amps... or 100 watts with 12 volts is 8 amps... 8 x 4 =32... that's even kind of pushing it with 4 panels per set of wires. You could look up how many amps a THICKER guage of wire can hold. Supposedly 6 guage wire can be between 40 and 55 amps that it can carry. But I don't know if all makers won't cheat on wire strength and quality, etc.

I have used this for many years.. I have to replace them once a year. They stop working. I notice that the backplate can get very hot. Now I bought a 100 amp rated . The Moffet shorted I had a 20 amp load. Causing extreme heat on the positive cable connected from the solar panel to the controller wire started to burn. Even if you buy a 100 amp controller mine failed at a 20amp current draw. I have switched to a more expensive one with bigger heat sink

I have a couple of smallish panels with (the chinese cheap and even cheaper PWM controllers) and they do a nice job charging.. but thought I had a look at a MPPT controller that I maybe could use for future projects, maybe with older panels and stuff... and this is awesome! I thought as much, it's not an MPPT controller! Really thanks! It's just another "skin" on there standard PWM stuff... (which works though)...

I bought the 100A model because the price was just too good. When I purchased it I knew that it was not a true MPTT and had head it was a good PWM. Unfortunately, the instructions are lacking. The instructions don't even mention what b01, b02, or b03 are even though it is an important setting. (B01 = Gel; B02 = AGM.; B03 =lead acid flooded) I set it up for 12V, flooded lead acid. The controller charged the battery at 14.7 V, which would apparently be the correct charge voltage. However, soon my batter started to boil over because the controller kept charging it at 14.7. So, I had to adjust the float voltage down to 12.6 to stop the battery from boiling over. So, I have to wait and see what happens now.

These inexpensive $30 to $40 Chinese charge controllers are known to not last very long, not have battery temperature compensation, and not have multi-stage battery charging. If you don't have much invested into your battery, then maybe they're worth a chance. There's another brand that's inexpensive much more durable, and capable. Although it is still made in China, or Taiwan. The brand is called EP ever. I would put that brand close to the American and European charge controllers which are very much more expensive.

I have had three of the MPPT controllers, they were all defective when you get them! Notice here even, when he went to change the settings, up/down, nothing changed and he seems to not to even notice!

I have had three such Chinese controllers! 2 blue and i orange and none of them work! If you get instructions, they are worthless because they are not about the controller you have! The instructions show 6 displays, of which only 3 are about your controller! Also, the up/down buttons don't work, so you can't change the settings! All three of them were defective! Apparently, all controllers are made in China and they don't work! The controllers are the wink link in a portable solar system system, and if the controller don't work, you have nothing! Did you not notice that when you pushed the up/down buttons to change the settings, it didn't change anything!
