I am one and I can tell you (maybe I'm an exception) I am into selfimprovement, but only since the past 5 years honestly, and only when it's useful. @@null1534 with Ti dominant you can learn how to emulate any type for a limited period of time. Developing not only your own functions but all functions. Using logic to figure out the way of thinking of other types and what's important to them and then acting that way. Start from emulating one type that you know the most about. Try acting as if you were that type for an hour. Then for a day. Then as often as you can. Become comfortable in your new personality. Then do the same with all the types you want. You can switch personalities according to your whim. Your personality was developed by your genes and by the environment you grew up in. Your actions and reactions also develop your personality. Controlling your actions and reactions you control the development of your functions thus your personality changes. I was INTP when I first did the test. Right now it's difficult for me to assess my personality type since I can't answer any of the questions in the test lol I mean no matter what I answer it is true for me. I can be this and be that. As an ISTP, I have the same experience. Very strong Ti. Very inferior Fe. When people don’t ‘get’ me and my attitude towards life, it’s not that I fear it. Frustration sometimes, yes, but then again, I’m an ISTP, so I don’t really give a shit. I will happily walk alone. Because I know I’m doing the right thing. I am a crafter, an expert in my field of study. If I had to compromise with Ti, I would hate myself for not living up to my fullest potential. Being an expert takes TIME. A lot of it. Yes, I want to be part of the tribe, but people need to accept my way of living. If they can't value me for my contributions to society, those people can get the h... away from me. And they will come running back, when they need me. And I will slam the door and watch them panic.

I'm an INFJ married to an ISTP... We've been together for what seems like an eternity (a happy eternity), but it was awkward in the beginning. Needless to say, we've both been able to grow our weak functions with the help of the other. I'm no longer as whiny and needy as I used to be and he's no longer as distant and cold and he used to be. This is BRILLIANT. I am an INFJ. My ISTP friend and I are working on a common project of bringing his amazing, life-saving invention to the world. I am not sure how fully aware he is of this or of all my Ni plans for making it happen. I think we fell into this odd collaboration because I recognized his TiSe invention as obviously brilliant (many have not). In fact, he and his invention has been OSTRACIZED by his tribe, even though he can and should own them all. I am really good at selling visions to large numbers of people, and I think he on some level gets that I am going to help him sell and popularize his idea so it is accepted. He sometimes pretends not to care about tribe acceptance, but then occasionally admits that of course he wants everyone to recognize him as a genius. So we make a good pair. He will never appreciate everything I am doing for him, or at least, won't articulate/express that he does. I have mostly learned to accept that (being emotionally OK with that will be a constant process). However, what I get in return is what is going to be one hell of a ride. He did literally save my life so I can't rationally hold much of anything from here on out against him.

Lol here's to all the awkward moments that have and will occur after all the IxTP's watched this video and started engaging more with the people around them. If you're going to engage in more Fe activities, consider this suggestion: Besides just going with the flow of Fe, admit and clearly tell yourself what your insecurities are, such as "I am way too serious in social situations" or mine: "I nervously overdo it on the Fe to compensate for what I think I lack". Once you clearly say it, you'll find yourself accepting who you are a lot more in the moment. You'll feel way more ready and able to counter the insecurity with a more balanced, open mind frame, and you will thus likely actively learn a lot more in such a healthy, conscious and relaxed state. Also just go with the flow half the time. Now get out and go to a party or whatever people do for Fe fun these days. - INTP

I have an ISTP friend who’s really into Minecraft. We’re in this large group that hangs out together pretty often and though I (an INTP) would probably prefer to read a book, which I often do instead of talking, and he would probably prefer to play Minecraft, but we both make the effort, even if everyone’s just sitting on a call doing their own thing with cameras off (ISTP screaming about Minecraft and the servers he’s been banned from, ESFP drowning everyone out with an electric guitar, INFP muted with camera pointed at a tissue box). It took the ISTP a few months to learn everyone’s names and sure, I laughed because we’ve known each other for four years and he finally remembered who I am last year, but he did make the effort eventually. Neither of us will probably ever reach out just to talk, but we communicate when we need something from each other, and that’s good enough. Ti dominant can be self centered and isolated at times, so something I’ve been working on for a while is thinking more about what other people might be feeling and then having a reaction to their emotions (Fe does a pretty good job of recognizing others’ emotions but as inferior, it’s very easy to ignore or be confused by it), aka by going out of my way to help others. I started small, often by giving advice in portions because not everyone can handle the onslaught of “simple logic” Ti users have

(I am more of a laid-back “Yes Man”.) Anyway, after looking into this type further everything else is spot on, and this behavior explained in the video is completely accurate. If I could just put the tribe in a bottle and let them out at the time of my choosing that would be awesome! However, I should and need to depend on the tribe to grow. Also my Ti will be better for it for the next time I retreat to my cave.

Those poor ISTP bastards... I'm an INTP and can relate to this Ti 'arrogance'(not an unreasonable placeholder) and subsequent Fe 'tidal wave'. Honestly, I fear the group and wish the best for them at the very same time. Day-to-day interactions with people provide for me, overwhelming evidence in subtle ques, gestures and awkward silences - unnatural signatures against the flow of critical inquiry. My Fe is ever-present enough to account for these social conventions - whether real, imagined, overestimated - or outright repressed as an unconscious solution. Perhaps Ti dominant/Fe inferior users extrapolate too much from what is common parlance and find it difficult to approach the appropriate experts for critique in their fields of specific interest, which would be the best path to developing their Fe - as well as their Ti? To bring it back to the example in the video - 'clock repair', only either a person with a mind interested specifically in the repairing a clock/s, or mechanically minded in general - seem to me worthy of approaching for an appraisal. Revulsion for external critique has resulted in the backspace button rivaling the functionality all other keys, when attempting to share my thoughts. I'll simply commit to writing this message and wait for the resultant tidal wave of death. Welcome back, Dave. I found out about MBTI around the same time you started making videos a couple of years ago and found them immensely enjoyable and insightful. Keep up the good work.

I know an ISFP who's like this I'm INTP (I think) and I've surprisingly had success with a few of my projects. I don't think it's because I put in more time, but I think it's cause I had an Ne idea I wanted to get out quickly and share. But if I have to keep working on it and improve it, the pattern in the video definitely applies.

I think some of the ISTPs here are taking the example literally. They're talking about how to enrich your social connections and receive the desired positive feedback, you naturally need to involve the group and not hole away seeking perfection thru isolation. It's about seeking social growth and bonding, not self-improvement or upgrading.

Would it make sense for an Ni/Ti INFJ to see this to a degree in themselves? I feel like this doesn't jive as well with the 60/40 rule, but perhaps an unhealthy Ni/Ti INFJ would? Perhaps too, it would depend on the animal functions... which I can't help myself I have been trying to figure out and I just need to sign up for your class. But, conceivably, this could make an INFJ mistype as INTP then? Especially since we are all so prone to being blind to our true demon, one would then focus on the easier demon? Great video! :)

Gotta know that anyone with Ti can do this but when I_FJs and E_TPs do it, it's not a massive all-encompassing problem in their life. For example, with me, I'm working on stuff but I don't expect people to care. I use it as more of a collection of everything I know, like a repository of all my gathered stuff, but isn't organised so it just collects dust but can be looked at I guess. I think "I'll make some kind of product some day" (inferior Ni) but then practical things get in the way, which I'm more focused on (dominant Se). So it's more like I'm using my Ti to help gather and make myself more awesome but not locking myself away and not expecting everyone to like what I do.

Saw your stuff man, definitely interesting however you're not looking at the big picture of how the world sees your videos. 95% of KZread has their own logo or character slapped on their thumbnail and usually, it's for every type of topic. So the best way I can say from what I have seen and known people to do is get shout outs and help other people on projects and have them put a link to your channel. So as I said big issue is that it presents itself alone as how most videos look, so work with other bigger channel people and get shoutouts, hope this helped!

I feel like I'm at the top of Mount Everest and the tribe is at the bottom of the Mariana Trench. I have to abseil down the mountain, enter my submarine, dive to the bottom of the ocean, and rescue them one at a time while they fight every step of the way. They fight me over the rudiments, let alone the advanced stuff.

When u think about it for work and this other garbage yeah its like a game for the first to make it to the top if u want to be nice letting others in front of u and your still at the bottom think about that for a second. When u are trying to prove yourself And that you could make it just think about how many doors that could open for you.

Curious with the ISTP how the Se gets in the middle of the process. With the people in my life that (I think hopefully if I got right maybe) I believe to be ISTP’s, the SE comes out in a lot of quirky ways. Back and forth from the quiet Ti room to the playing with the product of Ti. One particular example I’m imagining is a friend who would work hard on a quirky project like a potato canon; and always had to find joy in actually using his creation. It’s this combo of meticulous work and play with his work that lead me to believe he was an ISTP because it looks a lot like Ti/Se working side by side. This has always led me to think ISTP’s can be such cool and quirky people who have a lot of fun! From what I observe, their Se can often cause tribe interaction, thus carrying the weight where the Fe lacks.

As an ISTP I think you are spot on. Sometimes I go out of my way to actively "gamify" a situation or a task (or to find a way to make it last less than it should if it's boring). I also find myself trying to find irony or flaws in a person or setting whenever I get bored or disappointed in the progress of my work tasks and making fun of the predicament (not taking it too seriously or downplaying a bit the gravity of a situation). This jokester approach may rub on some of my colleagues but others find it funny.
