Excellent video. If I have more than 50 EKS clusters, each cluster should I need to have an ISTIO setup, or only one is enough? I am using the HA Proxy custom rules, and can I implement the ISTIO on behalf of HA Proxy. Will it support SSL offloading?

Hi, I have one confusion, when you go for official release, you see latest version as 1.17.2 but I can also see 1.9. What is the difference between them. I tried to find the difference.

can we use existing nginx ingress configured with application gateway in aks or alb in eks instead of this istio ingress gateway? Or if it is mandatory, how to implement in that existing one?

There are network policies which you can define. You need to take a look at envoy / istio configs for that fabian

My application pods are not able to connect to postgres rds after istio integration why?

I need one help , after installing istio service mesh in our EKS cluster version: 1.26, my application pods are not able to connect to postgres RDS, getting password auth failure. after disabling service mesh things working normally. do you have any idea about this issue?

Hi , where is istio storing the telemetry data used by kiali. I read we need Prometheus for this. Is it installed automatically? Or we dont need Prometheus at all.

yes it is installed automatically. you can see the prometheus pods running in the master istio namespace

Try adding the port number incase there is no auto port redirection

bro its a great tutorial, i have tried existing bookinfo app it's working. but one doubt i have my own 3 microservices application which are connected to each other, can i apply same technique with out any modification to existing code in EKS using ISTIO?

Yes you can applythe same technique. Make sure you have used the right service names to connect your microservices with one another

I am unable to understand, which machine you have installed istio in? the video just started by showing how to download, but on which node or instances have you done this installation is not very clear. I am a little confused, so could you please clarify?. Thanks.

I have installed istiocli in my local machine and installed Istio in EKS Cluster. the exact time of that is shown here - kzread.info/dash/bejne/qXd-p8iqe9O7lpc.html
