Does this have active tracking ? I was wondering I’m going to start using it to solo shoot plus like you say it does have rock steady and all that but it does crop a bit but the biggest thing I’m going to be blogging by myself so I want to try that ai active track 3.0

Does this gimbal have a 360 degree 'inception' mode?

I'll get one of these if flights resume to Philippines next year! I have the osmo Action already

I've researched and found that the Osmo Action's WiFi is not connectable to this gimbal. Would that be a problem if I purchased this gimbal using the Osmo Action?

Question time !! If you turn the whole thing upside down does it still work ok ?? ie camera underneath the gimbal.

Yes.. and can go into like a flash light mode.. BUT better on mode 1 or 3.. 2 jitters a bit

I can confirm that if you have wind cancel on (which i do almost all the time..) zero noise from gimbal..Te thing is soooo quiet (at the moment)

Hello, have you also tested Pro 3 and Pro 4? Does it work OK with Osmo Action? All the controls? I am considering purchase of the gimbal and the Hohem support team wrote me today: "When using iSteady Pro3 and Pro4, you can mount your DJI Osmo action camera in it (the size is ok for mounting) but you will not be able to press the gimbal button to control your camera as they are not compatible". So I really do not know...

you need to hold the trigger down continuously for the sport mode, at least on the isteady pro3

so looking at the setup, it's not possible to add external mic on osmo action with this gimbal?

Good question...

A few months ago I baught as osmo mobile gimbal and 3d printed an adapter plate that allows you to mount an action cam. By doing this you get the dji go software functionality when using a phone ( like active track, hyperlapse...etc) and you get the ability to mount an action cam with the 3d printed adapter. Just thought I'd mention this.... I remember you baught an osmo mobile if I remember rightly?. Anyways.... great video mate

Which would have better stabilization, this or the karma grip?

Loved the Karma Grip..but you know what? This is lighter, and for the money, hard to be at.. the ONLY thing is that toucan't manually adjust the camera position, you need to use the control..

Thanks for the review. I just received the gimbal and the Bluetooth isn't picked up by my phone. Turns out limited range of phones supported. Think I will keep it anyways 😜 I have a routing gimbal head for the timelapses.

I've had mine for a Year, mate. The DJI Osmo Mobile ll was a failure for both smartphones, Osmo Action Camera, and attachment plate. I had to use elastic bands to hold it together too. One band broke and the action cam fell in water. The Osmo Action Cam survived and that's when I decided to try the (cough) Hohem gimbal. I have not used any Wifi or Bluetooth features yet. It's similar to the Osmo Action ll which works well with the control buttons and equipped with a small tripod which is very convenient.

Nice one Dylan. I like this. If I had a Osmo Action. I would get one, or one like it. I love using my Osmo Pocket. I use it for all my video. It's movement makes it easier to do. Thank you.

Pockets great.. But for when youre in the rain or "im going to drop this camera at somepoint" moments.. you cant beat the Action or the Gopro hero..

after your intense video suddenly it occurred to me that you remind me of a bandit from old movies ...or out of popeye animation :)

Didn't hear any.. and i checked.. but audio was on wind noise cancellation.. this thing is very quiet..

I got mine yesterday for that charging system it has for my gopro ,. don't like changing batteries while in action, ($118.00 Canadian ) just Subed ,. can you do a video on or have one on the functions gopro 7

Couple of omissions from your review. On the GoPro the power button is completely obscured by the motor, if it switches off you need to remove the camera just to turn it back on. The sound is unusable due to the motor noise, just all muffled. I’ve had both the iSteady and iSteady 2 and effected on both :( now use a Zhiyun Crane M2 and a lot happier with it. This more expensive of course (£199) but I can also mount my micro 4 3rds camera and phone, which makes it more versatile.

I ordered a Zhiyun Crane M2 and going to send it back, spend 15 minutes (trying) to balance it every time I want to use it after folding it away. The unit arrived with the locking / memory pin just turning / not locking, have emailed Zhiyun support and the seller via Amazon, as yet no response. Disappointing that you spend £200 on a product and no support.

Important notice! This thing I was told does not work with Gopro at least not in a way as it is expected. You can't use record etc controls of the gimbal.

Perfect for riots!

I guess...

OMG your knocking & swinging that gimbal so casually. its a bit painful for me lol! because if one of those internal magnet move just a micron. Your gimbal will dance like crazy in any directions. I repaired mine for a week! to figure it out where is the correct placement of that magnet because i dont have a microscope. Since its a bit cheap. I hope those locktight in those magnets are strong

RRP £699!! If it wasn’t for your review, I’d assume this was a load of cheap rubbish trying to reel in those who think they’re getting an absolute bargain. Why do they feel the need to put such a vast RRP?

Seems to me quite a niche product. I mean if you want something to video extreme sports, you'll likely need something rugged and waterproof (cue GoPro or Osmo Action), if you want something to video professionally, you'll likely want a professional video camera, for everything else, you'll likely need something compact like the Osmo Pocket. I'm not really seeing a mass market for this; it isn't waterproof, it isn't professional gear, it isn't compact.

Gimbals getting better. £100 a great price...

Found this gimbal not to be that great, used on gopro4 footage looked too jerky ,tried using it on a osmo action cam was better but the osmo has good stabilization so you would expect it to be good. sent back and got feiyutech vimble 2a was far superior in smooth footage

Thats wat the instruction are for to find out wat the sport mode is for lol

you did not say nothing new , I own this gimbal for almost 2 years and I guess all has been said by other vloggers about it long time ago .

So, without built-in stabilization in the camera, this gimble can not cope!

What?.. Who said that?.. tried with no gimbal/no rock steady JUST with the camera..NO gimbal. Gimbal worked very well.. impressed.

Don't listen to this guy cause I already bought the gimbal and I tried with my DJI Osmo action last week, and the record button on the gimbal doesn't work; therefore, I had to return it to the seller on Ebay, and the seller accepted my return with no question cause the seller told me that this gimbal only work with GoPro, not with DJI Osmo action. Don't buy this gimbal.
