I've seen a little bit of Istanbul and I can recommand it for sure , go visit this beautiful city with the amazing ancient things to see , the mosque with the six minarets and all the rest !!! Go ,go

I love Istanbul and I want to visit this city. Does Istanbul mean something in the Turkish luguage ? In Greek Istanbul means " In the City" or " To the City " because Greeks used to call Constandinoupole (when it was a Greek city before 1453 ) just "The City". lot's of love from Greece.

+Eirini Tz It's name İslambul in 1500 era that mean ''City of Islam'' or something else but ottomans (sultans,vezirs and etc.. civil people is using İslambul) prefer to use ''Constantinople'' name cause ottoman thinks they are 3rd roman empire after east roman empire (byzantium)

ıt was not Ortaköy Mosque but Dolmabahçe mosqu in Baroque style...so you missed Ortaköy Mosque built on the sea..right beneath the 1st bridge...

konstantinopel and istanbul are 2 different cities. Konstantinopel was only behind the walls of the Castle. Konstantinopel was only build on the european site not like istanbul jet. Istanbul is 1000 times bigger and more different with its ottoman architecture mixed with orthodox,arabish, persian, jewish, armenian,venezian, modern turkish and some more. For Turks, Byzans was never Greece. For us, it was and it is Eastern Roman Empire. Ottoman Empire beaten Roman Empire and became the new "Roman Empire" with islamic Religion. Why you greeks always say it was greek empire? They spoke greek language and written greek and ruled by greeks but it was never your Empire. We took Istanbul from the Italians. Its exactly same like our Seldjuk Empire. We spoke persian, written persian but it was never persian empire, it was turkish/seldjuk empire.
