The images present a slice of the uninterrupted struggle of the Turks, who have been fighting against their enemies in the east and west for 600 years, especially in the last 100 years. The legacy of fathers to their sons is a weapon, and the only legacy of mothers to their daughters is patience... Besides the exquisite views, dilapidation and disorganization stand out. However, despite all the chaos of the period, the images from daily life are the silent witnesses of tired, wounded and proud Turks that have survived to this day.

I learned about Byzantine Constantinople on KZread was so interesting so I went to Istanbul beginning of April, just came back from Istanbul last week. The Hagia Sophia ( holly wisdom), blue mosque, basilica Cistern, Ephesus, underground city, petrified waterfall, pigeon dancing houses are all interesting. I had a great time in Turkey. Last but not least the ferry rides from Asia side to Istanbul just so impressive crowded, we pushed through the crowds to get on ferry. While I was there I got bronchitis doctor gave me four different drugs and one antibiotic (Cefeks 500mg) cost only $14. Doctor’s fees $150 still on the process of claim insurance. The coughing is getting better, got my voice back.

So this Istanbul in the video is actually still Konstantiniyye (Turkish version of Constantinopole) because even though Ataturk was elected as the president of the national council which was in Ankara at that time. The Istanbul you see in the video is still under the Ottoman rule which yet again was under the influence of the occupation forces, allies (mostly British and French). So basically land of the Ottomans was torn apart between allies and there was a nationalist revolution at the exact same time. Like the war ships you see on the Bosphorus is occupation navy of the British. Must be a sad sight for any Turk lived at that time.

The Ottoman Empire forcibly deported over a million Armenians between 1915 and 1923. The Western powers did very little to stop it. There are places on a riverbank where you can see layers of bones from all the people who were murdered.
