The story behind the writing of the song “Isse Pehle” by Pastor Wilson George:
17 अक्टूबर 1990 के दिन सवेरे-सवेरे एक ख़बर ने मुझे पूरी तरह से झकझोर कर रख दिया था. जिस वाहन में मेरे छोटे भाई सनी जेकब, पास्टर थॉमस मैथ्यूस व अन्य लोग नवापुर कन्वेंशन के लिए यात्रा कर रहे थे, वह एक भीषण हादसे का शिकार हो गया था. हादसे के कुछ ही देर के बाद मुझे अपने भाई सनी की मृत्यु की बेहद दुखद ख़बर मिली, जिसने मुझे अन्दर से तोड़ कर रख दिया. मुझे भी उनके साथ ही नवापुर जाना था, लेकिन पास्टर थॉमस मैथ्यूस की क़िताब “भविष्यवाणी की रूपरेखा” का लेखन अन्तिम चरण में होने के कारण, मैंने उसे पूरा करके दो दिन बाद जाने का निर्णय लिया था.
महज तीस साल की उम्र में, मेरे छोटे भाई सनी जेकब की इस आकस्मिक मृत्यु ने मुझे यह सोचने पर मजबूर कर दिया कि पृथ्वी में, मनुष्य की आयु का आख़िरी दिन कौन सा होगा, यह निश्चय के साथ कोई भी नहीं कह सकता है. अर्थात् आने वाला कोई भी दिन, एक व्यक्ति के जीवन का आख़िरी दिन हो सकता है. इसी ख़याल में खोये हुए सन् 1990 के दिसम्बर माह में, मैं अहमदाबाद की एक सड़क से जा रहा था, तभी यह गीत “इससे पहले कि चला जाऊँ” धुन के साथ, मेरे दिल से निकलने लगा. गाते-गाते मेरी आंखों से आँसू बहने लगे! और उस दिन के बाद से इस गीत को सुनते हुए बहुतों ने अपना जीवन, अनन्त इनाम पाने के लिए समर्पित किया है. प्रभु यीशु के अति पवित्र नाम की महिमा हो!!!
