Ty Uzumaki I keep mine washed & I do them every 3 or 4 months the product I use is Jamaican mango & lime...give your roots time to grow an breath if you twist them every month they will thin an break off...that's how I do mine lol I been growing mine 6 or 7 years now an they never thin up or broke off
