That's why he stands out from every other male character. All humans are flawed and got annoying weaknesses. But if they can change for better admitting mistakes, that quality makes them better humans. Arnav is far from perfect. But later changes his ways. He's not hypocritical. He lacks guidance of a mother. I don't know why people ignore the fact how much effort he puts to change himself as a better human. They are so judgemental as if they are perfect.
