mohamed mostafa @Linda Steckel, nice to see you two having a friendly exchange! As far as the topic, combining Israeli technology with Arab capital and labor could produce results that could dwarf Silicon Valley, ( which would make me very happy, I despise those people). My question is what about the Islamists, can they be kept under control? Democracies are not set up to deal with them.

You do not even know the names of these Arab villages, and I do not blame you because geography books no longer exist, not only do the books not exist, the Arab villages are not there either. Nahlal arose in the place of Mahlul; Kibbutz Gvat in the place of Jibta; Kibbutz Sarid in the place of Huneifis; and Kefar Yehushu'a in the place of Tal al-Shuman. Ticonemah Elotl But they HAVE history which has been wiped out by Israeli “history” which the victor gets to write. The population of Jews in Palestine in the 1860s was 2 percent. Guess who made up the rest? To deal fairly with a peace process, both sides need leverage, not just Israel. Neither side should get everything they want. The Palestinians lived there for centuries and then were kicked out and off land they owned.

@@dorarie3167 it's not an excuse. The situation is awful and should be resolved. But my statement is true: you cannot throw punches and clutch pearls at the same time. In other words, you cannot call for Israelis to be banished from your lands, take up arms in place of a peace treaty that Jews lobbied for when the Mandate ended, and then cry in apartheid when a war you initiated didn't go the way you wanted it to. Either play for peace, take the deal, and negotiate for more (as the lobbies were willing to do), or take up arms and fight for what you think is yours. They chose and failed at the latter. The whole argument of "right to the land" is absolutely silly: territory across the world has changed hands so many times over the course of human civilisation, no country has an 'inherent' right to any land, we just decided to end land pillaging after WW2 because we suddenly decided the cost of human life wasn't worth it. It's a pretty arbitrary date. The land is as much Jewish as it is Palestinian, and vice versa. Israel *obviously* has a valid security reason to be worried about giving the WB back in entirety after the mess that happened after giving back Gaza, no wonder it wants to annex land towards the East so it isn't completely cut off. The current state of affairs is the sorry result of decades of poor trust. As such, I see no immediate solution, unfortunately.

Question: Should Israel welcome an ICC investigation into the Palestine Situation? Background: The Prosecutor (Bensouda) on the International Criminal Court has requested permission to investigate the Palestine Situation. Her report states that there is ample evidence of war crimes to justify an investigation. She is awaiting a decision from the Pre-Trial Chamber to begin, which could come any time. The US has threatened to sanction ICC officers. Opinion: I’m not a lawyer, but I understand there is little legal risk to Israel from an investigation. The ICC cannot investigate anything before 1974. Settlements may be a crime of aggression, but the ICC cannot prosecute countries that are non-signatories for aggression. The ICC operates on the principle of complementary. Israel has already investigated most accusations, so the ICC would have to prove that Israel’s legal process was invalid before indicting anyone. There is almost zero chance that any Israeli appears in The Hague. On the contrary, the Treaty of Rome requires that all sides to a conflict be investigated. Hamas and Jihad openly advocate and boast about war crimes. They have no process of investigation or justice, they reward terrorists. Hamas officials, especially from Gaza, could very well end up on international charges, which could really put a downer on their party. So I’m thinking, Why not welcome the ICC to Palestine?

Most Israelis, like my family, go to live in the settlements for economic reasons. The settlements are just cheaper than other places in terms of taxes, which is why this video isn't accurate, because to ask people from the centre of Israel, where most rich Israeli lives, isn't smart, you need to go ask more poor areas with financial problems. Also the settlements really saves life, there were so many terrorist attacks in the past in this country, today there are almost none, we went from 100 people killed in a month to 1 or 2. if there was never terrorism, there was never settlements, just like in Egypt Sinai, Egyptian didn't made any terrorist attacks there, and Israel give the entire Sinai back. Sadly, Palestinians never understood the trick.

There are some great alternative for the Israelis who need more room and NOT have to move to the West Bank. Vail Arizona near Tucson and Apache Junction Arizona just east of Phoenix and Mesa. These places are much safer and have room to grow for Jewish settlements. You wont have conflict with ANY more Arabs. In additional social distancing from catching Covid-19 in Arizona is much easier AND you can have connections with the Jewish Communities that are very affluent in Tucson and especially in Scottsdale and Paradise Valley. I know its a sacrifice not to be in the Holy Land BUT not everyone can live there with limited room. Living in Arizona, you can be supporters of those who choose to stay in Israel. Also for retirees these place are very secure.

Of course, they don't want to live in the West Bank Settlements, these people have access to the beaches and can freely travel around the country. The West Bank Settlements are like Suburban Bunkers that have Jew Only Roads and Checkpoints manned by IDF Soldiers. I wouldn't want to live in the Settlements either - even if there was Peace with the Palestinians. It's hot and water is limited. Gaza could be beautiful and a popular seaside tourist town, but the current situation makes that impossible.

I stand against: 1- leftists Israelis who think that giving west bank to Palestinians will resolve the conflict, they either don't hear or ignore what Palestinians say it publicly about their hatred against Israelis presence not only in west bank but in all holy land (historical Palestine). 2- Extremist rightist Israelis who think that Palestinians have no right to live in the holy land either for racist or extreme religious reasons... I stand with moderates Israelis who understand properly Palestinians mentality and do their best to protect their country without being extremist

@Starhopper Yes, people are responsible for their action and each action has its own reaction meaning: Being hostile to Israel state without taking any action is not like taking action like fighting, aggression...etc, Yes majority of them agitations against Israelis but this is not justification to get rid them , other actions like preventing them of getting power or ruling their territory would be enough ... There is no generic rule to manage this conflict other than each action has its own equivalent reaction ,at ends it depends on their actions and differs from case to case..

I'm generally a moderate politically but I'm gonna side with the leftists on this one. Palestinians in the West Bank tend to be more willing to engage in peace talks with Israel. If Israel were to disband settlements in the West Bank and recognize them as a sovereign entity, just think how much that would improve chances for discussing a two-state solution! This is not to say that it will "resolve the conflict" but it would be a GIGANTIC step forward. After the Oslo Accords, Arafat's government was more willing to crack down on terrorist activity because Israel was willing to withdraw. This is what accountability on both sides looks like! This is how you lay the groundwork for peace!

@@yosefbenavraham5062 In facts, this was my opinion 3 years back but now I realised that giving land and sovereignty to any people other than Israelis on any piece of holy land will lead to big and endless conflicts in mid and long terms.its just matter of time.. This is the fact, see what happened in Gaza, Israel withdrawn completely from their 20 years back and instead of getting peac and quiet it got many wars and 7th October!! I'm an Arab Muslim live with Palestinians (not Palestinian) and know how hatred of Israel state is rooted in Palestinians mindsets, they will never ever accept the peacful coexistence and as long as they have sovereignty on holy land or in any surrounded country like Jordan or Lebanon they will keep making war, its endless conflict. Quran admits that God wrote holy land to sons of Israel however vast majority of Palestinians and Muslims don't submit to that. Though God wrote this land to sons of Israel only when people who live on holy land are bad enough and not eligible to rule it God will give complete sovereignty to sons of Israel, go and read story of Ibraham when he asked God when his descents will enter and govern holy land what God told him?. Israelies should gover all holy land and if Palestinians go to war against Israel then Israel has to obey to God directions as stated on Deuteronomy chapter 20 verses 16 and 17.
