Concentrating on the coalition with the USA for peace processes in the mid-east, is irrelevant to the current crisis in Israeli government whose current Likud leadership is provoking large protests within Israel, as our Tzionist nation is following other powers in growing misogyny and racism. President Herzog is a soft spoken person who shows love for his people, but he accomplishes nothing of value here representing only one side of the mid-east politics, as I far as I can see. May god be our Judge.

For those who may not know: In Israel, the president is a largely ceremonial role. He plays a diplomatic role, but has no actual power in terms of making policy or commanding the military. The true executive power lies in the Prime Minister, who is of course Bibi Netanyahu, whose politics are very different from Herzog’s. Hopefully Bibi will be able to give one of these speeches soon.

“Israel's hand is extended in peace” & "True peace cannot be anchored in violence," Israeli President Herzog told Congress yesterday. Here is just a partial list of the acts of violence the State of Israel has been directly responsible for in the last couple of months alone. Last night, just hours after Herzog's speech, hundreds of settlers and their supporters (including Israel's Chief of Police) entered Nablus for a religious pilgrimage. Soldiers were sent to prevent Palestinian residents from accessing their own streets which led to rioting and use of lethal force by soldiers against the Palestinian residents of the city. According to the Red Crescent, a Palestinian teenager was killed and several others injured, including a baby. Last month an IDF soldier shot dead 2 y.o. Mohammed Tamimi at the entrance of his family's home in the West Bank village of Nabi Saleh. According to B'Tselem, he was the 150th Palestinian killed by soldiers or settlers in 2023. Several more have died since. Not to mention the incessant settler violence over the last few months, peaking during a series of pogroms in WB villages in June in which one Palestinian was killed and hundreds of homes and cars were burned. But the settlers themselves are just part of the problem. Their violent attacks wouldn't be possible if it weren't for soldiers being present and enabling them. And perhaps Herzog forgot about the military operation just weeks ago in the densely populated Jenin refugee camp, in which 12 Palestinians were killed. All this was supposedly to root out terrorists, yet on the very day of the operation there was a terrorist attack in Tel Aviv, and a soldier was killed the next day. So it appears the "special operation" wasn't so effective after all. They never are. Two weeks ago, the Israeli police officer who shot dead Eyad al-Hallaq, an autistic Palestinian young man while he was innocently walking to school, was acquitted of all charges. The court accepted that the police officer was acting in "self-defense". And what about home, school, or any other structure demolition that happens on a daily basis around the oPt? Just yesterday an IDF rep said that 95% of Palestinian construction requests in the oPt are rejected, leaving no choice but to build without permits. This list is unfortunately far from exhaustive. Herzog's assertion about violence is laughable considering the endless violence required and carried out by the occupation, which has been a policy of every Israeli government, left and right, for over half a century. Herzog himself, soon after becoming President, ran to embrace the most radical & violent settlers by joining them for a Channukah celebration in the Tomb of the Patriarchs in Hebron-the site of the 1994 massacre of 29 Muslim worshipers by a US-born settler. If President Herzog, and his esteemed audience who gave him one enthusiastic standing ovation after another yesterday, are serious about bringing peace to this region and putting a stop to the endless bloodshed - ending the occupation would be a good place to start.

@williamhatton6826 Yeah, the commander in chief of the US armed forces during the latter parts of WWII has nothing to do with US military actions in the latter parts of WW2. Just because the same person recognized Israel and authorized incinerating and poisoning entire cities which were selected to avoid Jewish casualties and maximize Christian ones doesn't mean they have anything to do with one another.

@williamhatton6826 This disagreement needs to simplified, Should the fact that Harry Truman was responsible for the three greatest crimes of war ever committed in single incidents, i.e., the incineration of an estimated 100,000 Japanese civilians in the fire bombing of Tokyo (while FDR was inoperative an just days from dying) and the dropping of the atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, be weighed when considering his rapid recognition of Israel, or should we view the Japanese as, apparently did Truman and most Americans at the time , as a subhuman species whose lives were of little value, and consequently irrelevant to his decisions regarding Israel? (Note: I lived through those times and there was no more objections to the dropping of the bombs on the part of Americans than there were against putting Japanese-Americans in concentration camps,)

FYI Israel and the USA are committed to each other’s security. Unlike countries like Afghanistan and Jordan that receive American aid in the form of humanitarian assistance and give nothing back, Israel only receives military aid, which is sends right back into the American economy in the form of defense spending on American made equipment. The US helps Israel defend itself by itself, Israel gives back intelligence, cyber security, ingenuity and improvements on its American-made equipment, and a partner the US can rely on in the Middle East through thick and thin! America gives enormous aid to the Palestinians, the same ones who cheered from the rooftops as the Twin Towers came crashing down. Doesn't that bother you?

The attacks on Christianity were from passages referring to Jesus and Mary. There is a passage, for example, of someone named Yeshu (Yeshua AKA Jesus Christ) who was sent to hell to be boiled in excrement for eternity. Among the obscene folklore is a story that Adam copulated with each of the animals before finding Eve. The Disputation set in place a train of events which culminated in a burning of a great number of Jewish holy texts, on June 17, 1242. "One estimate is that the 24 wagonloads included up to 10,000 volumes of Hebrew manuscripts, a startling number when one considers that the printing press did not yet exist, so that all copies of a work had to be written out by hand." The relative share of Jews in the American army in this war was about *4.23%* of all soldiers (higher than their share of the general population at that time which stood at about 3%).
