Israel’s attacks in Rafah continue despite ICJ ruling
Israeli strikes are continuing across the Gaza strip, including in Rafah.
That's the main city in the south, where hundreds of thousands of displaced Palestinians have been sheltering.
The UN's top court has ruled Israel should stop its offensive in the city.
The International Court of Justice also ordered Israel to open the Rafah border crossing to allow in aid.
That's as hospitals are running out supplies.
Shelling and gunfire has also been reported near the Kuwaiti hospital in Rafah and missiles have hit the crowded al-Shaboura refugee camp.
Al Jazeera’s Hani Mahmoud has the latest from Deir el-Balah in central Gaza.
Maha Hussaini, strategy director of Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor, says the ICJ decision is an important and crucial step the world has awaited for decades, not just since the beginning of “the genocide” that started on October 7.

Netanyahu slams the ICC's request for arrest warrants, why? He reacts the way a guilty person always acts. Netanyahu knows full well he is guilty. Otherwise, he would be anxious for the chance to go the court and prove his innocence. But his only defense is to smear any attempt to force him to face justice. For the reverse to be true, the World would require a World government and armed police force, with all the risks and downsides that entails. There is a further problem, the law abiding obey the law, the lawless ignore it, and it is the latter you wish to control. That is why the most powerful do not recognise the jurisdiction of the ICJ.

It’s laughable that icj would think their mere ruling would make Israel to stop their assault on Gaza. They should also make a ruling to ask hamas to release the hostages, period!

If a country does not arrest NetanNutCase when he visits them they will be ejected from both the ICJ they signed up to and the UN.
We know that, when they rebuild Gaza, the new homes, schools and hospitals will be for Israeli settlers - not Palestinians.

The idea that Hamas military action is being reciprocated in proportionality by Israel is the point. There is no proportionality. How many Israelis have died from rocket fire into Israel since Oct 7th? Get over yourself. Of course there are Palestinians who don’t like Hamas, we can read polls, they aren’t the root of the problem though. Israel is.

There have been about 10 hostage release deals that hamas has agreed to, Israel has not agreed to any of them. I don't understand how you can think this is still about the hostages??? Israel said no to hostage deals, continues to bombard and starve the very place hostages are, continues to murder in the west bank where the hostages definitely aren't located. And you are aware that Israel is holding over 3000 Palestinians hostages right?

@@rubylicious1024Read carefully the judgment and the orders given. The judges ruled that if Israel is committing acts that are reasonably suspected as genocide, then it must stop the operation in Rafah. The key word here is IF.
