I’m a Palestinian. And your take on everything was completely understandable from an outside POV. You knocked it out of the park explaining everything. Thank you for that. A lot of people need to hear both sides to understand everything going on, including myself. Of course as a Palestinian I am a bit biased when it comes to certain issues at hand but I have no issue listening and trying to understand other perspective’s. So thank you for taking the time to talk about it! Have a great week 💕

All of the pain and death that has been experienced by all in the region over the last 75 years is tragic. Nobody has had it worse than the Palestinians who have had to live under Hamas rule in Gaza the past 16 years, my prayers go out to them especially.

This was the first time since this war began that I heard someone taking his time to make us wonder what it must be like to be on one side and what it must be to be on the other side and realize that both sides feel they're the ultimate victim But westerners still think it matters how they feel about one side or the other, this is not about what we feel about it this is about how they feel about it

As a Middle Eastern, living in a region marked by conflicts and occupiers, I would like to hightlight some points. Israel consistently maintains the upper hand, backed by a robust military and substantial financial resources. With unwavering support from the United States, they have access to virtually unlimited funds and military capabilities. Israel's territorial ambitions are evident, and they seek to expand their land holdings. and yes I condemn the attacks by Hamas, it's worth acknowledging that without Hamas, the Palestinian cause might face gradual extinction through displacement and violence, erasing the Palestinian identity. Also I do understand the historical suffering of the Jews, including their persecution and violence in the West. However, it raises questions about why Palestinians have to bear the consequences of actions they weren't responsible for. and in top of that , there is a perplexing aspect to Western support for Israel in light of this situation. It's also puzzling how Israel, having endured historical injustices, can carry out actions that mirror what they themselves experienced and appear to do so without remorse.

But from the Israeli perspective not only do they have multiple decent sized terror groups not just trying to eradicate the state of Israel but the people as well, but they also have nearly every Middle Eastern country trying to destroy the state of Israel hence why Iran was so involved in the Hamas attack and why basically every neighbouring country to Israel have invaded them at some point. The land Israel seized was after they were attacked by syrian backed Palestinian terror group they took the Gaza strip from Egypt and took the West Bank from Jordan in my opinion that is fair. The idea that somehow Israel is the main aggresor is fucking stupid when they are constantly getting rockets fired at them from Gaza both parties are in the wrong and the idea that just because one has a bigger military they have to be held to a higher standard is wrong in my opinion if Israel dropped all their weapons there would be no Israel not just because of Hamas but because of Iran, Jordan, Egypt, Syria, Lebanon, Qatar, Yemen, Iraq, Saudi Arabia (that might change) and not to mention all the other terror groups that want them gone and thats just off the top of my head. When Israel first became a nation they were instantly invaded by 6 arabic nations, in 1930 since Britain had controll of the Palestinian/Israeli region they tried to setup a Jewish state which fell through because the arabic nations many who alligned with Hitler were against this nation. Palestine has never actually been Palestine until Israel got there before it was apart of the Ottoman Empire then controll was handed to the British Empire after the fall of the Ottoman Empire post ww1. The occupation of Gaza is interesting because after the October 7th attack one could argue this is why they have such strict conditions to avoid instances like that because the terror attacks against Israel would certainly not decline if they were to give Hamas and other enemies a better chance of pulling off succesful terror attacks although I am sure Israel could find a better way to handle the situation that does not involve keeping 2 million people in an open air prison.

A very thoughtful discussion but a key omission is that Americans are not unconnected, as the US is providing some $3 bn military aid in a year to Isr. US organisations are registered as charities and receiving tax breaks whilst funding settlements and displacement. The bombs falling are made in the USA, in many cases. US has vetoed calls for ceasefires and humanitarian pauses in the UN Security Council. Most recently, it voted against a call for a humanitarian truce call in the UN General Assembly.

Even when he starts the Palestinian side he subconsciously goes back to justify Israeli aggression over the Palestinians because of Hamas . Any sane person is able to detect. It’s actually more honorable for you to say that you are on side of Zionist than to pretend you are neutral and then use words like horrific , terrorist , antisemitic when talking about Palestinian.

More high status Jew's like Andrew need to speak up about this. The Israeli gov't would have you to believe what Andrew said is anti semitic which is nonsense and the majority of Israel is fed up with Netanyahu (who was indicted 6 months ago). Any civilian in the crossfire is an unjust target and it's a tragedy. The IDF and Netanyahu gov't calling Palestinians subhuman is all too familiar and where we need to push back.

As a Jew who has lived in Israel I really appreciate your take. And showing how it is on both sides. Definitely hit the nail on the head with this reminding me about the pervasive anti semitism. Because tbh I am vehemently against what Israel is doing now. At this point the response completely outweighs the crime. Not to mention all my issues with the occupation as a whole. But the issue is I don't feel safe really publicizing that in my real life. Because of just how much anti semitism came out immediately after Oct 7th The joy so many seemed to get from what happened. And even furthuer that anyone Jewish was suddenly complicit in everything Israel has done and not worthy of humanity. And with our history it's hard to then not always take the "jewish side" bc even if I go and join the other side, they'll still hang me in the streets if they could. That even if I disagree with what they're doing I need to side with those that it isn't a risk that they quietly want me dead. For my own safety I feel like I have to ignore my own values. But I also appreciate hearing how the Palestinians must feel isloated and all the rhetoric against them as well. I genuinely just wish peace and humanity were what was wanted. But it often feels like most people are just looking for the right people to hate.

  • @NickolaiPetrovitch

Palestinians wouldn’t hang you in the streets. Don’t listen to the propaganda machine. I remember the underground raves there where we were all dancing together and we were all friends. No one cared which ‘side’ someone was because we all just treated each other like humans and we respect each other’s differences - Christians, Jews, and Muslims have all lived together in that area for many years before the escalation of our fascist government. We are just people, individuals with similar life experiences like families, friends, favourite music, favourite food, passions, ideas, love…. A Palestinian person even in the current situation is not going to kill you. Palestinians aren’t Hamas. I think I have Palestinian friends are dead because I haven’t heard from any of them in over a week and I have to live with the fact that my government is doing this on behalf of me/us ( Israelis )

Speaking as a Kashmiri Muslim who grew up in Kashmir and the UK, I first saw Shulz's shorts on youtube 3/4 years ago, been a fan of his comedy and his tendency to talk about different races and nationalities in his bits/stand ups. He always seemed like someone who had respect for all cultures even whilst making jokes, and would call out countries equally. He seemed so in the know about cultures and different people. After disappointing statements from media and politicians, I can't believe how well put and thoughtful this segment is. He has friends on both sides of the conflict, and has given out his empathy to both and highlighted the plight of innocent people everywhere. He has criticised Hammas and the right wing Iraeli government, he called out the Israeli occupation in Gaza and West Bank, and he called out the terrorist attacks and the historic violence against Jewish people. I am on the side of Palestinian liberation and I am against the Israeli government as many Israeli people are. I believe they ultimately bear the responsibility and power to end this cycle of violence, condemning terrorism and killing of civilians goes without saying of course. I want peace for Jews and Arabs to live side by side. There is islamophobia and anti-semitism being used to justify violence, which is so wrong and harmful not just now but in future generations, our kids will grow up hating each other, who could want that for their future generations? I forget the dude's name in the middle with long hair, but he said the rich and powerful people will benefit and the poor and innocent will suffer for this. Such a great final point. There are those who make money from wars, and those who suffer from it.
