In well-functioning militaries, every person, regardless of rank, should be dispensable, with others able to immediately fill a newly vacant position. So there is no point to targeting top commanders.

This really seems to be the case in resistance militaries. Top commander after top commander has been lost, but the tempo of their activity hardly changes.

I was born in the 80s so I grew up on skates. And I learned before 10 years old that when being caught is imminent, as fast as I was, knowing being caught (it was a game of chase we played), I couldn't keep me feet under me. That's what they're feeling. There's a disconnect between the brain and the body when you need to get away and know you can't. Everything just stops working.

Like you can't rely on the old WAYS when you skated with the flow and in calm as in "An expected outcome". The flow is now turbulent, you have to make decisions and changes on the fly. Too many changes too quickly. Called overwhelm especially if the other team is organized! So what to do? Stop 🛑, turn and fight! Stop running...it gets worse!
