Koreans have quite a distorted view on dieting and a healthy lifestyle? Restricting one's lifestyle too strictly can be counterproductive and may lead to bingeing and body dysmorphia.

I get what you’re saying, but imo it isn’t just Korean people, and it’s not necessarily all aspects of Korean culture, mainly in the public eye. There’s a lot of pressure to look a certain way in many societies unfortunately. Just my perspective tho. I very well could be wrong.

Yes, I think all of East Asia has terrible dieting and weight loss culture around it. In Japan, you basically have to be underweight to be considered skinny.

@@TeddyDora94 true but i think it depends on the culture, like you said in japan its normalised for the average weight to be a bit more on the skinnier side, but I think its due to the fact that everyone there has a well balanced diet compared to other countries and they walk almost all the time. Although I really agree with east Asia having generally bad ideals when it comes to weight loss, me being from east Asia as well.

because eventhough she’s already skinny and healthy she might look bloated and puffy on camera that’s why the manager tries to make her consume as least sugar as possible

Diet here as in to eat healthier, not to lose weight. She consumed so much sugar that everyone around her aware and advise against it. Too much sugar is not good for yr body and her manager did a great job cutting it down and not downright forbid her from consuming it, which could cause heavy craving and sugar binge later on.

And diet doesn't always mean you have to starve and don't eat ,there is heathy and balanced diet, well easier said than done ,to eat healthy and not overeat especially to girls that's why a lot of women opt to starve as diet ..im guilty with this .. especially when your period is coming you crave a lot of sweet stuffs that if you don't eat it u don't feel satisfied and feels like your hunger won't disappear..

Well they always go on diet especially if they have schedules/event . And she really maintained her body even after giving birth I remember her in Unnies wearing idols costumes 20 years younger than her and she rock it but she’s gaining weight the last few years though but she’s still so beautiful 😊❤
