Heard about the school being closed and went along to the Open Day in 2011. So weird walking corridors and classrooms I'd been in as a kid 25 years earlier. So sad to see it go, these pictures of the demolition itself are really poignant. Had been wondering what had become of the site and was in Freshwater the other week, drove by and found all these houses had popped up! Such a surreal feeling to see people living on the same spot and only a sign that reads Old School Close as a reminder of what once was. :O( Thanks Dave for taking the time to make this video.

I had a short walk around in there when it was almost gone. No camera though and it was getting dark, so didn`t have time to go and get one. I just saw the fence was open when I was passing one evening. The assembly hall was well weird with half the roof missing and all strewn with rubbish. It was like there had been a nuclear war. Shook me up a bit actually. Hadn`t been in there since 1986. Gutted I never filmed it.

Was there from 1971 to 1974. Weird how you didn't appreciate it at the time, but now would give anything to go back and re-live those years!

It was upsetting to see that it was demolished, I hated school for the most part but my time there around the mid 70's was fun

a really sad day for the westwight when the council said that they were going to demolish the old school, even though I was a pain in the ass for the school it's self, lol, lmfao, i mean, . always getting the cane across the hands an butt standing outside the office every break time for a year or more, from year 1to year 4 they were never gonna break me , but hey that's life, , big mistake in demolishing the school and sad it's no longer there.

It was a sad day. I`m gutted that I didn`t film the inside when it was still standing. I had a short walk around in the small part that was left at the front though and it was really eerie!
