all my great grandparents in the 1800s. I am working on my citizenship and started studying and singing in Irish. I will not allow myself to lose my language, my music, my culture that I never spent one day of living in. The British committed a genocide on the Irish people for over 800 years and will only address a "famine". There was no famine as my family history will certainly confirm that. What a great song. Never heard it until today.

I know. With Emmet singing this song, we are all brought to tears! So beautiful! It was an amazing concert! You should see it in person - we are doing the concert again this year on December 2nd - Atlanta Symphony Hall!

This man has an incredible voice and he is so beautiful to see! Have followed Emmet for a long time and so good to see his voice is just as beautiful as ever,, he is totally wonderful in every way.. he is so personable and kind.. he is still the same warm and wonderful man he was when he started... And that beautiful voice continues to improve...Emmet holds notes so long and sings with such pure emotion... just breaks your heart with joy to hear him.. in my opinion the best Irish tenor ever he is... so proud his lovely family must be of him! I was born/bred and live in south east Asia,thousands of km away from Ireland but I am very close to her and the Irish in heart and spirit. I owe my early education to the Irish people. From age 6-17 I literally was fed Irish and English literary works etc. I know Irish history so when I listened to this song it brought tears to my eyes. I enjoy listening to Irish singers. Irish people are one of the most talented people in the world. The saying that all Irish men are mad men is true in more ways than one. My love shall always be with you,Ireland.

I have just read a novel by Jeannine Cummins called "American Dirt" about how so many from South America try now to to reach the USA. It is such a struggle now by comparison to what our forefathers had to do, but then many of us too died in coffin ships. So what is better now than it was then? Nothing ?
