Yes, you are correct, but perhaps it was just a bad translation. The one in the video said that assalamualaikum means 'may god bless you' - if you think about it, this is not very different from 'peace be upon you', as you are still wishing for the other person to be blessed with good things. But maybe I am missing something...please let me know if this is true.

Also there is no mention of Allah or God in the Asalaam Alaikum but however, if you say Asalaam Alaikum Warahmutullahi Wabaraakatuh it simply translates to “may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon you”. Hope this clears anything up.

Though I currently live in the USA but I was born, raised and educated in Islamabad. I had many Christian class fellows, colleagues and friends I played cricket with. I could never tell by just looking or by accent that some one was a Christian. So, the so called guide you selected misguided you there as well.

As a British national who's visited pk I can tell you it's not fake that's just the the accent of alot of the local Pakistanis that can communicate in English, in Karachi thy have an a really good accent, no offence to Indian's who speak English well, their English accent is distinctive and stands out like a sore thumb but I was very impressed with the accent of the locals in this country

When it comes to the English language definitely Indians have the upper hand with respect to their vocabulary and the fact that literally every one in India speaks English. That being said yeah they do have their own English accent which is kind of irritating at times 🤣😂🤣😂. They also do not tend to evolve their accents based on where they. There are so many Indians in NY and NJ who've been living for several years now. Yet they speak English as if they just arrived here yesterday. It's like they've sworn not to pick up any American accent. When it comes to Pakistanis and especially people from Peshawar couple of years in the US and you'll think this dude was literally born here when it comes to his American accent.

Dude I don't comment a lot but this Waqar guy is not very knowledge-able and has only surface level knowlege (He is a racist to be honest) That seems understandable as he's from F-6 or something (the isolated elite buffer here like that of Beverly Hills in the US) and has degree from the worst university in Pakistan where you can just buy off your degree. (We call these people burgers like "Karen" in the US) A little background about christian community that is shown in the video is that back in Sikh and Moghul raj, they were actually Achoots (untouchables as in Hindu traditions and cast) and were only allowed to have low life according to Hindu traditions. Some became muslims (actually one of the majors reasons for spread of Islam in Sub-continent is the cast system of Hindus) and then british came along. To influence their cultural impact the British started preaching Christianity to these people and many accepted it to get the benefits as promised by the missionaries. But the British couldn't raise the living standard of all the converts (because after all british were here to exploit). After the independence the other Achoots went to India and those who accepted christianity are here doing the same work as their ancestors did but no one forces them to do so unlike in India. They can start their own business or get good education (unlike Waqar) and can make their life better. Hope this will give some perspective

1.The Islamic greeting Salaamualaikum means "Peace Be Upon You". Come on, every Muslim knows this. 2. You can't really tell Christians from colour and accent. Accent depends on where you come from. I love the food in Pakistan. The pork meat cooked in Pakistan is extremely yummy. For best Pork Rice Cuisine, make sure to visit Mecca Madina. The black Square in between the Madina has a food counter in it which cooks best beef and pork cuisines. Love to Pakistan from Japan.

very nice video...it amazes me how friendly they are there..when you treat others like that here...you only get a cold look..or they look at you funny if you greet them..took me a few years to get people to greet each other normally....

But you guys are still failing to manage your country and reaching bankruptcy. Double check your countries economy you will get to know where you stand. Mosque (house of mosquitos) is not the correct name, rather its called a Masjid (The place to touch down the forehead). Mosque is the hate name British colonist oppressors gave to Muslim worship place.

Although the Christian population have had it rough, they are growing in stature with education. I've studied with them in university and even work with quite a few of them who have got good jobs. I won't say there is no discrimination against them but that they are slowly improving their own circumstances with education.

In Pakistan Christians and other minorities are persecuted where as in other countries especially in Western countries Christians protects the Muslim Refugees... I would honestly advice minorities in Pakistan to move to some safe countries like the US, Canada, India and England.. Where they are safe and are provided better living standards.. The constitution itself discriminate minorities in Pakistan... Thus the UN should do something to protect the minorities in Pakistan... #ShameOnUPakistan

I am watching all yout videos that appears in My KZread Timeline. you are amazing.

I would like to clarify two misconceptions. Firstly, assalamaliukm means peace be upon you. And by determining if someone is christian by their accent is looking at ethnicity. All the people living in those specific slums in Islamabad(never been in Islamabad myself) have an accent so they most likely are Christians. But then against religion is about a state of mind or rather heart then outward expression.

I'll be visiting this country after lockdown. I can't wait to meet this warm ans hospitality people! My wishes to everyone from Pakistan!

You should travel to Ghana West Africa! I went when I was 16 and it changed my life. A huge eye opener. The people there are amazing!
