Editing Gaff in the intro again!! Arrghh, clearly isolation had its effect on me!!! But most of you skip the intro so it's not that big a deal right?.................right?
From the award-winning designer Bruno Cathala, Ishtar is a game in which you play the role of a gardener aiming to transform the dry desert into the Lost Hanging Gardens of Babylon. To accomplish your mission, you will have to plant flowers, which, if you place them well, can help you gather precious gems and activate actions. Whether to buy Trees (which will block the link between two Flower spots, as well as earning you points) or to purchase upgrades (such as getting two more points per Tree card at the end of the game), collecting gems will be a crucial part of the game. Get them before your opponents, recruit apprentices, send them to earn points in the copses of flowers you have created, block others and think carefully of the upgrades to purchase if you want to become the best gardener at the end of the game!

For Castles of Mad King Ludwig, my group uses a house rule that we like to call "stupid tax", which is if you purchase a tile that you cannot fit into your castle or a tile that you do not like after all, you can put it back at a cost of one coin. It really speeds up the game a lot for us because it keeps people fro fiddling with 2 or 3 tiles before making their decision.
Just got this game for $5 at Dollarama. So worth it! And I agree with you with the scoring, it's pretty straightforward just need quick maths and I don't find it fiddly.

Every game I’ve played someone has inadvertently connected two fountains. It’s easy to do and I find it need to watch for that as the board fills which decreases my enjoyment.
I love this game! I very enjyoed your reivew and I also think that this game should have more love. And if I remember correctly, I think that it was how large the flowerbed is that decides the majority of the fountain. Not the number of flowers. That makes the bonus flower bed with 2 spaces and a flower on each more useful in situations.
Such a simple game with clear rules and instructions that the two main characters from the movie "Ishtar" can figure it out.
saw this one at GenCon 2019 was really drawn to it, but missed out, Thanks for the review I think i am adding it, under $40 on Amazon.
Probably shouldn't share the same name as a famously bombed movie
