    Institución... bueh, no exageres amigo!

Impresionante.

    Bach was a church organist. This is intended for the part of The Mass, where the people line up and get some bread, and maybe a sip of wine. Then go back to their seat, for the part of The Mass called, Contemplation... Where you kneel,,, and think about your Life... I've always wondered how this was received --- in the church that Sunday...

    gingervytis said: "The late organ virtuoso, Virgil Fox, said "Those first three notes are Bach... calling to God". I believe it." "Ginger Alive, Alive let them be, If they die in my arms, a Forfeit for me." I much prefer the more staccato arrangements of Ormandy. God does tend to be abrupt. (Tomita's version may just be a little too... Theatrical.) Fox was right of course. This is an old form, and for the Time, a daring form of Call and Response. The challenge and entreaties are all there in the Score. The Why is still puzzling. One can find the same thing in Rodrigo's famous Adagio, but we concretely know why- Rodrigo's son had just died, and Rodrigo was both angry and plaintful. In the Adagio, the conversation goes back and forth, at least as far as the Composer is concerned, and the final sweet bars then denote Acceptance. It is really a lovely, and profound, piece. J. S. Bach had a lot of descendants; P.D.Q. Bach is still alive and kicking. In the unlikely event that "Gingervitus" dances in, I couldn't resist the pun. The original goes: "Robin Alive, Alive let him be, If he dies in my Arms, a Forfeit for me." This refers to the long lost "Game Of Forfeits". A Childhood game, steeped in History and Treason.

    Hi, You are right! and there are many more! But this is like this: Basic music without complexity = Many people saying, "what a great master he plays this piece" Elaborate and highly complex music, only some can understand and enjoy. Toccata and Fugue is a fantastic composition, but Tomita puts decorations, effects, "garbage" on it and people buy that trinket, because they don't listen to the depth of the composition. When listening to a melody is done only appreciating the superficial, that is when you believe that Tomita is a master.

    Sorry Neil but I backtracked the storm sound FX in myself as part of the soundtrack for the "Addams Family House Screensaver" that is shamelessly advertised in the description above for download. I thought, as you seem to concur that it all went very well together. If you really like the blend of music, sound FX and video then I encourage you download the freeware screensaver at the download site listed in the description. I believe you will enjoy it. I guarantee there is absolutely no malware, spyware or advertising popups in it. I am retired and I simply create this sort of thing for the enjoyment of others. It is just something I do you see. Download and enjoy it my friend! :)

    Oh, I get it. Like there's someone in the house playing the organ. Why am I reminded of Don Knotts in the Ghost and Mr. Chicken? Forgive me, your icon pic makes me think you might remember that movie. Now, the music the 'ghost' played in that movie, there's some trivia, what's the name of that piece? Ok, I just looked it up. 'Haunted Organ' by Vic Mizzy. All these years I thought it was a classical piece. Good to know.

    I've been a fan of Tomita since the 70s and have all the early works on vinyl, then bought the CDs as the years went on. Back in the 70s, he amazed me with his interpretation of the older classics. I'm sorry to say, this particular piece did nothing for me. It seemed to me to lack power and "size". I'd much rather hear this selection played on a real pipe organ.

Saludos

    This has nothing to do with Isao Tomita, it's just J. S. Bach's "Toccata and Fuge in d minor", played by some anonymous organ player on an ordinary church organ!

  • @JubaL609

    @JubaL609

    +Michael Hubertz ....You are very much in error Michael. Of course Isao Tomita did not write J. S. Bach's "Toccata and Fuge in d minor" however Isao is only being credited with this unique *=ARRANGEMENT=* of the piece not it's actual creation. Far from being released by an "anonymous" musician as you erringly suggest this particular arrangement of the piece was distributed as "Isao Tomita - Bach Fantasy" release and not anonymously. You do know the difference between being credited with a piece's unique arrangement rather than being credited with having actually created the piece yourself don't you?

  • @michaelhubertz3016

    @michaelhubertz3016

    I do know the difference between an arrangement and a composition, I can distinguish Bach from Tomita, and I am able to identify an original piece of music performed on an ordinary church organ, as it was intended by the composer, even with open windows while it rains and the computer is busy with the screensaver.

  • @JubaL609

    @JubaL609

    I see, a rather interesting opinion. The publishers of "Bach Fantasy" were the ones who identify it as being an arrangement by Tomita not me. I simply passed along their crediting of Tomita with having arranged it when I used the music to create the video and the screensaver from which the video was derived. If you feel passionately about the publisher's having incorrectly credited Tomita with having created the arrangement then perhaps you should take it up with them because as long as the ambience of the music worked for the screensaver I sought to create I actually could give less than a rat's ass who created the arrangement in reality. ;)
