You know what's amazing? I discovered Skam in 2016 and started learning Norwegian by myself the same day. Now I can understand practically anything, tomorrow I am having my B2 exam and I have been living gere for 5 months, planning to do my phd here and stay here forever as well. We needed a Even season 😭😭

I felt like I was apart of something watching this show back in 2015-2017. Nothing will ever top the emotions I felt with these characters/actors/ JULIE. that is something years can never take away from me, or us.

I think this is the most recent video about SKAM i’ve watched. Which makes my heart flutters because SKAM forever 💕

Here’s a rough translation, it’s not perfect but hopefully it helps a little 00:05 - What a TV series, a season. I love everything about it. The SKAM season with Isak is homosexual history. 00:25 - Before season three we released the promotion that I love. That I mean is one of the best from SKAM. - It got released, and then an hour passed and I received a mail from a young boy that wrote: I just wanted to tell you that I saw the promo and if I understand correctly it looks like it’s Isak that will be the main character and if I understood correctly he is maybe homosexual and I’ll be so happy if that’s the case because I think I am just like Isak. And that, i just had to print out that mail, and it hanged over my desk while I wrote the whole third season because he’s the one I’m writing to. 1:25 - And I’m referencing really early to Romeo and Juliet and set that up as a reference which is the ultimate love story that is about a couple that loves each other, but that can’t get each other. And that is something I think many many gay people have experienced throughout the history. 1:56 - it’s so nice to watch a series where gay love is just like any other love. - And the way they executed it. It was so real… and natural. Many series like that can become like a show. It becomes like a show assumed gay stuff. But it was just life, and love. And then it’s speaking to me at least. 2:22 - I have rarely cried that much, when Isak came out 2:40 - and I thought that I needed a character in season 3 that could be up in the face on Isak in a way that he got confronted with himself. 2:53 - eskild is in a way a little one dimensional because he is the funny side kick, the funny gay guy. At one point in time you get to know what lays behind that as well. Because there’s no one who’s just funny, superficial, nervy. People have more sides. 3:14 - And then I had more (people) in on audition, and then Karl Martin came inside, who is a fantastic talent. And who is like, I’m in on the cliché but let us just switch it up a little bit. - Before season three, I talked with a lot of young homosexual boys and many of them talked about that feeling of.. they felt homosexual, but they didn’t identify with pride. And they felt that was a little lonely feeling because they felt they didn’t have any affiliation. They wasn’t normal heterosexual boy, they couldn’t be a part of that pride parade and all of that. But I also think I experienced a bit of like, prejudices against it. That almost is like, a feeling of rising above it. I’m totally for that these young boys can choose their identity, exactly how they are being homosexual. But they can’t be without history either. They have to understand where it’s coming from and why it’s so free today in comparison to how it once was. And that’s why that scene became important, and it was important it came from Eskild 4:34 - The pride scene.. I dreaded it a little. 4:54 - it was a really serious scene and I also thought it was pretty hard to understand why Eskild got so mad. On Isak. Because at that point in time I felt a little in agreement to what Isak said. - I had to take in Eskild’s words before I could say it as Eskild himself. 5:53 - the pride scene with Eskild, it was the most important scene in SKAM, because it… the modern homophobia lies in that we accept homo to a certain extent. I remember I had a conflict with someone in Vegas that was like “I think it’s good you’re doing this, because you’re a homo that people accepts” and then I was like “Hey, don’t homos to say that you just homo that people accepts, because those gays people get uncomfortable by, are the most important homos. They’re the ones that make us feel the uncomfort, that forces us to make a little negotiation against ourselves. They’re the ones who pushes prejudices into light in other humans 6:24 - I get often messages from people both from Norway, Scandinavia, Russia, Brazil and China… that maybe have seen the episode with the pride speech and that thanked me for putting words to something they have felt very strongly touched by. And that have made it easier for them to accept themselves. And that is in a way not something an actor, or human, can be more happy by, to contribute to people feeling they can be themselves.
