Isaiah, Part 01 | Background to Isaiah

Ғылым және технология

What does Isaiah have to say about Messiah, the judgement of the Northern Kingdom and Hell?
Dr. Tour sheds light on Isaiah's background, including intriguing speculations about his potential connection to the royal family, the designation of his wife as a prophetess, and his notable role in documenting a biography of King Uzziah. The journey through the book of Isaiah begins here!

Hey Dr. Tour, as an undergrad BioChem major, just want to say that you have been heavily inspirational to my faith for the past year. Very cool now that you're doing bible study type things with Galatians and now this. Love learning the word from a scientific mind behind it.

University is where people lose their faith in the lord. Not this time, not today, not for you! At the end of the Bible, the New Jerusalem is a giant city that comes down from heaven to earth….how? A floating city? Maybe it’s saying technology, science, is aimed toward following Christ instead aiming at each other with bioweapons and nukes.

My mother told me many times that if she could only have two books from the Bible, she would choose Isaiah and Romans. The first time I read Romans through, I saw immediately why she would choose Romans - - it is a logical presentation of the power of God to provide salvation to us through Jesus Christ. Isaiah was a bit harder for me to grasp, at first, why she would have chosen Isaiah. By the time I got through it the first time I actually read through Isaiah, I understood it was more than a prophetic book, which it most definitely, but as the Lord worked in my heart and mind, I SAW the LOVE that God has had all along for not only Israel, but also for all Gentiles (of which, I am). And, then I understood why mom loved Isaiah and Romans so much! My mother explained the difference between my brain and how God reasons things out by quoting Isaiah 55 many times. What a GEM! both my mother and Isaiah.

I definitely love the passion you have for teaching, it's always so encouraging, praise God for your willing obedience and love for Him and His people! Also, you talking about overtime with pastors made me laugh some, I'm a born and raised Texan of around 33 years, but have been living in Ghana Africa for the past 2 years, America doesn't come close to how the church services are here, a typical short service is about 4 hours if that, most are around 5 to 6 hours easy; then every Friday they do what they call all nights, they meet and praise and worship, maybe some preaching, for around 12+ hours, anywhere from about 6pm to 6am depending on the church, as well as longer Wednesday services as well. It's a blessing to spend so much more time worshipping and praising God with our brothers and sisters in Christ in the way they celebrate and worship Him. Though sometimes there are some things that are tough to understand or strange ways that some of the churches have here, they definitely love the Lord with all their hearts in places like this! All praise, honor, and glory to the Most High, thank you Jesus for Dr. James Tour and may he and his family always be blessed and protected, in Jesus' name I pray, amen! 🙏

I read recently that the almost complete manuscript of Isaiah which was found as part of the dead sea scrolls, was identical in every word and punctuation mark as the oldest we had already in existence. Being that it is at least one thousand years older than any existing goes a long way to prove how and why the Israelites were chosen to be God's people.

There are several godly Christian scientists, and many of tgem participate in creation evangelism, but to find a Jew who does all of that is extremely rare for now. Dear Mr Tour, As U go thru d book of Isaiah, I like to recommend U to d 60 chapter of Isaiah, verse 1-3 I think which foretold the resurrection of d Lord. Take note of d terms 'arise', 'rising' n' rises' from which we get the term ' The risen Lord'. In 1 of d epistle Paul mentioned that God d father rises His son by His glory. I got led to d scripture, when after i printed out some fotos 1 of which i took out of a moving train. the glass window reflected d flash, n d foto came back as a cross of light [ glory] with a red light dot on 1 of d wing of cross like a nail mark.
