    Canonically in Castlevania you can find stuff from the future such as a map that shows America and Antarctica even though neither was known, also there was electricity and fluorescent lights in alucard's Tomb, steam engines antibiotics and centrifuges which all came from the future Undiscovered food such as bell peppers, tomatoes, potatoes, cherimoyas and papayas can be seen In alucard's bedroom there's a baseball bat Oh yeah and St Germain literally came from the f****** future and knew about toilet paper

    @@aSipOfHemlocktea well technically the Americas had already been discovered at this point and Dracula is said to have walked as a man around “the world” which could theoretically have included the Americas that would explain the foods like potatoes too. Also I wonder how much of his lab is modern science and how much is magic considering how it exists in this universe and Dracula has experienced it before It’s just weird because all of these things can be explained without timetravel (especially when the character is hundreds to thousands of years old) except for that quote

    While the quote "insanity is doing the same thing and expecting different results" is only traceable back to the 1980s, the idea actually goes back way further to the 1800s at least and likely further, so the simplest explanation is just that Isaac isn't quoting anyone, just saying what he thinks and feels in the moment.

    I personally think the guard fumbled the hell out of this situation. No outcome is good, but ultimately this entire interaction could have gone a lot better if the guard knew anything about negotiation. The main general ignores the blatantly obvious power imbalance presented and attempts to be an authority, when he has to power to realistically fight against what they’re looking at. Isaac also tries to be cordial with them more than once. If he wanted to kill everyone with no remorse, he could have just ran in and fucked shit up. Wouldn’t wanna let my guard down, but realistically if he wanted to ransack the place, he wouldn’t be asking permission to pass through. Worse case scenario, Isaac decides to attack anyway and the guards are in the same predicament they would have been in otherwise.

    I don't blame either side for their point of view. The soldiers have no fucking idea what Isaac is planning to do with all those night creatures, he could be planning to use it on some other poor village or something worse. They don't know or probably wouldn't believe his goals even if he explained it. On the other hand Isaac is trying his hardest to be nice to them despite EVERYTHING in his life proving him that humans don't deserve such kindness thus far besides one crazy boat man. I have no doubt that Isaac would have kept his word if they had let him pass but I also can't blame the soldiers for protecting themselves and possibly other villages from a man commanding a horde of night creatures.

Give them clearance to pass, but let no sight out of them, keep watch and use the extra time you bought to study and prepare better, best case scenario the stranger keeps their word, worst case he attacks and slaughters you, but different from before, you have a best case scenario, going hostile from the jump grants you no such better outcome, only slaughter.

    I can understand both sides here, all he needed was to pass peacefully, sure, his demons need not food nor water so the only supplies he needs is for himself, and the guards of the port town need to defend against said demons and monsters so the rest of the nation need not suffer them... But here's the issue. He always asked politely, he always kept his word on travelling. It would have been a peaceful journey if they had not insisted otherwise

  • @onyxdragon1179
    @onyxdragon11798 ай бұрын

    Some people would think the guards are fools not to trust him and let him through, but truly they knew they were on a situation where no matter which choice they took they were fucked. If they let him across he could have kept to his word, sure, but he could have also easily waited for them to drop their guard and strike. And if they had let him through without any incident they essentially would have been responsible for letting him and his army of monsters into Europe, and in their hands would have been the blood of any future victims of his. So they stood their ground, the only valid choice they had.

    I think that's a limitation of animation. They're supposed to be superhumanly fast and strong so standing there watching these creatures standing perfectly still to just getting bum rushed on Isaac's command probably caught them off guard. The night creatures didn't square up and engage like a human would, with some regard for their own personal safety, they just went all in. Imagine being there staring at these things hoping against hope you wouldn't have to fight the drooling demonic soldiers, and then in the time it takes for the strange man to snap his fingers they're on top of you.

    I think at this point in the series Isaac didn't care whether or not other people were okay with him and his creations. He knows he has the power to just waltz on through there and he's not making any attempts to hide who and what he is. But from his point of view, he is giving them every possible chance to listen to him and walk away with their lives. From Isaacs pov, he was being downright courteous to explain his intentions and that even if he had wanted to leave, the ship had sailed and his only way out was forward. I don't think that Isaac expected them to be fine and dandy with his night creatures, but I think he had hoped that they would possess common sense and maybe even return his courtesy with SOME consideration to their position. Instead the man in front of him arrogantly (or bravely, your choice) told him to go take a swim even though Isaac very clearly had the upper hand in this confrontation.
