Amo las composiciones de Isaac Albéniz !
Lavapies y El Albaicin dos obras de arte puro
I often listen to this when I go walking. It gives me a sense of peace and fullness, especially in the colours of the sunset light. In addition to this, as a guitarist I appreciate the transcription and the rendering, even if I agree with the criticism about their being a bit harsh at times. Still, I think the guitar through harmonics, vibrato, various timbre effects can give this repertoire something very interesting. In general, the music by Albeniz and Granados normally sounds really well on the guitar.
Statue is rocking some stylish studio-quality cans!
genius, Rique that is, for his extraordinary musical knowledge and taste; and of course the artists here = exceptional composition and performance.transported.....
My initial reaction was that the sound was a little "harder" than that of piano recordings. As I listened, however, I came to appreciate the greater clarity of the texture and the lyrical charm achieved by dividing responsibilities for the melody and rhythm/harmony. All those thick chords with 'wrong notes" (which must be the devil to play) receded as the melody came to dominate. I found the music easier to listen to and was able to stay with it longer. Previously, I had tired of the sound before reaching the end of the whole piece. It would be interesting to hear a recording arranged for two pianos, where the same division of labor was attempted.
This is absolutely gorgeous, and deeply moving! Thank you so much.
Wonderful music for my Soul.....♫♪♫
Wonderful
A very stoic performance paradoxically where the emotions and lack of joins in communion. Albeniz mentioned that his compositions translated better on the guitar. This is definitely the case here. El Albaicin....just an amazing rendition. Many kudos
Great stuff, thanks.
Thanks so much. Just lovely!
Sencillamente genial!!
La partitura tiene tantas notas que ni siquiera el piano puede con todas. Repartidas entre 3 guitarras queda muy bien. Aparte, hay que tener sensibilidad para esta música y afortunadamente estos interpretes la demuestran. Enhorabuena.
Beautiful.
Masterpiece!!!
Gorgeous, so Spanish, I love it!
Thank you!
bel lavoro gazie
Transported entirely to another realm...
bravo
Where can I get an arrangement of this?
where can I get the arrangmement?
Dónde se pueden conseguir las partituras?
Does anybody know what is the name of the statue and where is it from? Magnificent recording and arrangements.

La Dama de Elche was the subject of the second movement of Turina's work Contemplación, Op.99
There's been far too much emphasis on solo guitar music in the classical guitar community for too long. Guitar ensembles are critically under used. You can around the limitation of open strings, and multiple guitars can be more easily heard than one alone. I would argue two guitars are capable of almost anything a piano is capable of

It's called synergy and these players have it.
I'm disappointed, frankly. I have listened to Alicia de Larrocha playing Iberia dozens of times, and I loved it every single time. Well, this arrangement for 3 guitars sounds like it is a different piece of music. It is a matter of personal taste and preference, of course, but I did not like the way the guitarists interpreted Iberia.

I recently heard this three-guitar version again and then heard a piano performance, and it seemed to me that this version is a bit "hard" ... I don't know what the proper word would be to characterize what I mean, even more. the word that, in Portuguese, translated into English, would be able to do that. The filigree, the nuances, the diversity of piano records are missing. I also uploaded a piano performance of Iberia by the Portuguese pianist Artur Pizarro, who was a student of Alicia de Larrocha. You might like it: kzread.info/dash/bejne/dXaIk9CAYpa_qLQ.html As an image for both videos I used the famous statue of the Lady of Elche because it did not occur to me anything that could refer to a generic "Iberia" that covered the whole of Spain, and was not just a postcard of Andalusia.

@@pedrohenriqueprata Thank you, Rique, for the link to the Pizarro's performance! Yes, you're right about "the nuances and diversity".

Well, of course guitar strings are going to sound different than piano strings (what do you expect?!). I mainly miss the resonant sustained notes of the piano and find particularly the high guitar notes to be a bit "thin". Having said that, when I first heard Iberia on piano, it evoked a guitar-like style, so finding this recording is a treasure! I know you are criticizing the style, fair enough. The tempo, the rubato, the emphasis on certain notes, are not the same for sure. For you, Alicia de Larrocha is the reference; for me it is Aldo Ciccolini's recording, because that's the version I first heard as a child.
