You did it right thing , good decision. Because they don’t melt cholesterol in veins , but negatively effect the liver , suppressing production cholesterol right there , that is why some people take Q enzymes in supplements. But statins reduce cholesterol only in 10 -/- and if you stop take statins then you may experience over production of cholesterol in liver which is responsible for 80-/- of it and rest of came with food .

Cymbalta was prescribed for my pain and truly made me so much worse! I have just struggled through the withdrawals on my own with so much medication and been fired by 3 Doctors, because they gave me drugs that were killing me! Ultimately I have come to learn that if I want to live with any good quality of life or even to stay alive I have the ultimate responsibility to research every med! I have gotten off 10 prescriptions since 2020.

I have also gone almost completely bald from 4 meds and had stomach medication cause life threatening anemia, lopressor caused my cholesterol to get so high that I developed liver disease, a drug caused metabolic syndrome and I am still suffering the aftereffects of that and worse. Getting down to 5 prescriptions was an amazing thing for me to accomplish and took real courage.

I tested with high cholesterol and was prescribed "helpful" statins. I got neuropathy, plus leg cramps. The dosage was lowered, the brand was swapped -- for years. And the neuropathy was diagnosed as "idiopathic." My feet were so numb that i actually could not feel them while walking, rolled my foot and broke my 5th metatarsal bone! One day i mentioned my neuropathy to my dentist (my DENTIST! After years of complaining to my doctors!) And he asked if i took any statin. I said yes. He said, "Cut it out for one month and see how your feet feel." I did, and the feeling in my feet came back. I am 75 years old, NOT on statins, and still have high cholesterol but i can feel my feet. Statins are EVIL and TOXIC.

My cholesterol is very high by choice. Your brain is very high in cholesterol. Statins destroy cholesterol which can be the onset of dementia. Glad you stopped statins

I was taking statins and stopped, I got a heart attack eight years ago and had quadruple bypass surgery afterwards, I'm taking a high blood pressure medicine Enalapril, I am using a mixture of olive oil and lemon juice a tablespoonful each, first thing on mornings for five days I'll be going to have a cholesterol test in a few days. I was taking simvastatin and would feel sick and the pharmacist said stop if it causes problems. I have had pa behind my right leg where the blood vessel was removed for the bypass surgery, I'm taking calcium magnesium, Omega 369 and vitamin c

Switch to a whole plant base diet. You be,amazed hiw good it is fir your body just cobsuming natural foods and not oricessed convinient stuff that makes us all sick.

My husband has been taking 2 of the drugs that you listed here for the last 15 years and he is having pinch nerve and nerve pain all the time. Finally, he listened to me and watched the video. He is going to try to stop it now. Thank you very much for enlightening us.

Thank you for this video! People need to learn and their own research on medication. I was on more than 5 medication for depression that gave me heart palpitations, that I ended up seeking a doctor to fix it. I would bruise easily without doing anything. Weight gain. Nausea and the list goes on. The depression persisted and sicker and sicker I became, until I quit all the medication by myself slowly, it took a year to off and being sick with the side effects. It’s has been 2 years. No more side effects only the depression which I am dealing differently with.

They did unnecessary cervical fusion on me and then put me on some of these medications which refused to take and they put up a fight with me. Thank you for this information. Very helpful.

I am almost 75yrs old. I have had sciatica for 40 years and have had back surgery for spondylolisthesis. I have an implanted spinal cord stimulator which helps with diagnosed severe nerve damage bilateral LEs. I read an article on the effectiveness of Alpha Lopeic Acid on nerve pain and started taking it Dec31, 2022. A few days later I noticed a spring in my step, non painful sit to stand transfers, and absence of sciatic posterior hip pain. Now, I say this to explain where I am now, but after watching your video on the 4 classes of Rx drugs that cause nerve damage, I realized that I am on 4 meds that you covered. Duloxetine, amlodipine, Mirtzapine Pravastatin I would like to be off of them all, with substitutions, if I need them. Thank you for your help! I subscribed right away!!

I have in the past , had more problems with side effects of medications . Than I had with any illnesses. I have to take Basaglar insulin as I am a diabetic now . And Armour Thyroid , as I don't have all of my thyroid gland due to surgery. Other wise I use herbs for treatment. Thank you Dr Coppola...you've just described my current dilemma with respect to my increasingly problematic peripheral neuropathy probably caused by my decades -long ingestion of both Amlodipine (Black-boxed) and Atorvastatin. My hands, legs and feet burn. I sometimes have to put my feet in cold water. About nine months ago my Dr. Put me on cymbalta. At first it worked, now I am in worse pain than before. I was on several of the drugs you listed, some being various antidepressants, anti-anxiety, sleep problems and statins. I've finally found a physician in my small town whom believes as I do that being educated about using food, exercise and other lifestyle habits is much better to try first before going the big pharma route as a starting point to getting truly healthy.

Ive taken duloxetine and cymbalta they never helped and ive taken gagapentin and it didnt help. I have really bad nerve pain in my legs. And I have venus vain deficiency. I just have to deal with pain so much. What can I do to help. Exercise doesnt help much either. But I dont want to get surgery on my legs cause I cant hardly stand now. I use a walker to get around. I have lupus so thats bad too.

Good info! Studies show that a predominantly whole food, plant- based diet can substantially reduce elevated cholesterol. Many saturated fats in the keto diet are proinflammatory. The keto diet avoids refined carbs and sugar that elevate cholesterol and trigger inflammation. We don't know the long-term effects of keto diet yet on the kidneys. Of course, if one chooses a whole food plant based diet, it is essential to keep vitamin B12 and vitamin D in a good range which might require supplementation. I have a hunch the seemingly benefit of keto comes largely from eliminating sugar and refined carbs. In our Lifestyle Center, our guests with high cholesterol eat a vegetarian diet, exercise, and have hydrotherapy. Their high cholesterol levels drop by 30 percent within 11 days.

Iv'e been taking Statins for 30 years now, high blood pressure, Atenolol & Entresto. After surviving 2 heart attacks & aneverism & Coumadin (blood thinner) since 3 yrs now. I do not have pain but when I scrath my feet sometimes I do not feel them (half of foot) and also my toes turns white. In both family (mother & father) there is a high historic of cardiac failure. I am so full of energy compare to my friends with the same age of mine, even if my heart has only 37% of it's capacity. Thank God here in the province of Quebec (Canada) whe have insurance for our meds for us who don't have personnal insurance. Blessed I am 🙏

Thank you for your honesty! I was put on statins and very shortly experienced pain in both shoulders, hips, and knees. That is when I started researching statins. It seems the whole world knows how bad statins are, except for pill pushers in the United States! It is all about the money.

Keep researching because here on YT there are cardiologists, MDs and scientists that have revealed more about how "bad cholesterol" came to be named. Pharma funded the studies back in the late 50s. Read up on how the body needs cholesterol. Statins are evil in my opinion. There is no definitely link of high LDL to arteriosclerosis IF all your other markers are good: weight, BP, HDL, TRIglyc, etc.

Everyone is different. Some people are allergic to penicillin. I'm allergic to sulfa drugs. Some people could die from taking them. Does that mean that penicillin and sulfa meds are evil and should be taken off the market? Of course not! Likewise, some people can't take statins because they have undesirable side effects. But I have been on a statin for years, with absolutely no problems. No, "the whole world" doesn't "know how bad statins are!" Getting all upset about any medication causing side effects in some people and insisting that they are bad drugs is an extreme reaction. If you get side effects from a medication, don't take it. But I'm not willing to chuck out medicatons that are beneficial for some people just because others can't take them. Let's not throw out the baby with the bath water, for goodness' sake! Every medication will cause side effects in some people, but what's your solution? Going back to the stone age? I'm staying on my statin, because it isn't bad for me.

My Dad developed dementia from years on a Statin drug. It started with an A. I can’t spell it. I refuse to take a Statin drug. I was even able to get off Metformin. Intermittent fasting works wonders. Keeps my A1C in check. 😊

Statins and all meds far cholesteral caused so much pain in my legs hard to even walk.

I am 84 years and I have been on 10 mg Statin for the last 3 years. Earlier 40 mg dosage did cause a lot of health issues; muscle and nerve damage soon after the stetting. But now I have adjusted to the 10 mg dosage and I am recovering from the side effects.

I can’t begin to thank you enough for making this video! I’m sending it out to lots of people I know as there are lots of people that need to hear this so thank you again! My mother has been on some of this medication for way too many years.

It's all about big pharma being able to have a person on several drugs for their entire lives-it's a constant revenue stream for them. There are plenty of ways to keep yourself reasonably healthy without mega-doses of pills every day. At 61 I have made the choice not to take any prescription medications, and I feel phenomenal. Exercise on a daily basis, keep my weight under control, and I've learned the power of the word no when it comes to the medical community.

It took me years to figure out that stantins were killing me after eight years of being on them. I told my cardiologist I was stopping the drug and he asked my why. I told him it was killing me. I ended up with non-diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy in my feet, then Stucco Keratosis. The Neuropathy in my fee was so bad I couldn't even walk barefooted on the plush carpeting in our home without great pain. I have been off stantins now for at least four to five years and the Neuropathy is almost gone as my nerves keep repairing themselves

Wish I had found Keto a long time ago and saved myself a lot of pain and suffering.

I started the very first symptoms of neuropathy about a year ago. Many of the anti-depressants you listed, I have been on. They've been changed so many times because of the withdrawal I get--the brain and other zaps in my body. Two times, I was almost off of them--after a year or titrating down, but then I had a tragedy after each time. Not realizing that SSRI's can cause neuropathy and not knowing that my symptoms WERE neuropathy, I saw my pc doc and she referred me to a neurologist who pretty much diagnosed it, but sent me to another neurologist at the Univ. of MI Ataxic Clinic. Somewhere in there I was referred to a cardiologist to make sure the numbness wasn't circulatory and he wanted to put me on a statin and BP meds. We debated the statin because I had family members who'd taken them and wasn't comfortable with the idea of getting the same side effects. I will be stopping the statin tomorrow as I don't think my cholesterol is THAT high. :). I really wish I'd seen this when I first heard I had neuropathy, 3 months ago. I still don't think it will get better, since I will probably be staying on an SSRI, but I am hoping it doesn't get worse.

I am 67 and I am taking Pravastatin Sodium. I been on them for about 13 years. I have sharking pain down my right leg to my ankle. I also have hot feeling like needles sticking in my foot and also burning pain in my foot. It comes and goes.

I was on paxil til it just didn't help anymore, changed to venlafaxine. Within two weeks I had had the worst peripheral neuropathy symptoms in my feet , but the effectiveness the venlafaxine had on my PTSD was so profound I put up with it til I found alpha lipoic acid supplements. Now, if I miss a dose of the ala I get the stabbing burning in my feet again. And the electrical brain zaps from missing a dose or so of the venlafaxine is torture to say the least. But , I'm grateful to have it so I can function to an average degree. My Dr. Kept saying I didn't have diabetes and I'm sure doubted my complaints about my feet until I looked up rare side effects of venlafaxine and was able to show her it wasn't in my head . ❣️

I take 60mg of duloxitine daily for fibromyalgia and DISH. I haven't been diagnosed with diabetes or peripheral neuropathy but my feet are beginning to get lightening like pains on the tops just a few times a week. I have an appointment with my doctor in four weeks but wouldn't mind having good info to show him. I think a lot of my doctor. He has worked hard to reduce the chronic pain I have. I appreciate the videos you guys have made!

I've been on losartin and have been experiencing burning sensation in my right toes/foot. Once it was so bad I could hardly walk on it. I hate taking this medication. I am 71 and I feel as though my doctor wants me to have so many tests and prescribes medication that I won't even take. This is such an awful experience to go through. I feel it is condescending and demeaning. I have been refusing some of them and she's not happy. She actually spoke to me in a scolding manner at my last visit.

Feels like gout? My friend had the same symptoms. He experienced swollen ankle & knee pain. It prevented him from driving & disabled his overall mobility. It was diagnosed as gout. Essentially the cinditiin reversed, after he stopped the medication.

Hi Kumar. First and most importantly you need to be taking Ubiquinol (the active form of CoQ10) because Statins completely deplete this. Secondly, you need to take Acetyl L Carnitine to protect your nerves from the damage that Statins will due. Next, you need to work with a functional medicine (FM) doctor in your area that can get your cholesterol levels where they need to be without this horrible drug. Lipitor destroyed my father’s hip. Caused him to have a pronounced uneven hip so he became unable to walk properly. Looks like one leg is shorter than the other. He is now on a walker with hip, knee and muscle pain! So sad! He also started to have dementia even though he stopped the statins 20 yrs ago. The damage is already done!

Every medication has risks. I would want to compare the risks of stopping my meds with the risk that studies reveal about taking them. Where can I find a comparison like that?

I have been taking Bupropion (Wellbutrin) for about five months. Does it contribute to peripheral neuropathy? Thanks. 75...have transient tingling at left shoulder neck area. Leg fasciculations (since before Covid). Tingling in fingertips. Was pre diabetic. Got off sugar. No longer pre diabetic.

I asked my doctor to take me off of dilatiazem after watching your video . He reluctantly did that and within 3 days the extreme swelling in my legs was gone. Thanks 😊

I've had pins and needles and pain in my feet for over a year. I started around the time I was prescribed Amlodipine and Atorvastatin. I can't believe it! I'm grateful for coming across this video.

Thank you, even though I have a feeling Neuropathy I don’t take any medicines that you mentioned. I just take vitamins. 84 and feeling wonderful except for the tingling of my feet. Thank you for all the information.

I take Levothyroxin for hypothyroid after having a hyperthyroid which was corrected with radioactive iodine treatment since I was 39 yrs old. I take Duloxitine for depression, Gabapentin for restless legs, Simvastatin for cholesterol and Valsartin for blood pressure. Am not a diabetic. Recently my balance is not good and I get dizzy, feet and hands are numb. Now, at 72, I've been diagnosed with peripheral neuropathy. I've had both knees replaced, both hips replaced, left shoulder replaced, bone fusion in C2-C4, and bone fusion of L2-L5. I'm in pain every day.

Gabapenten is a calcium blocker. Teeth fall out and your knees go next. Hawthorne by Solaray for cholesterol. Stop to much sugar. Diet(die) kills. No artificial zero anything. Honey is good. Coconut sugar.

Magnesium , B12, Alpha lipoic acid and D3 have helped greatly with my pain. I got off Gabapentin after I read about side affects. Also use lidocaine cream topically for some pain issues on my feet.

The co-pilot of a passenger jetliner who plunged the aircraft unto the French Alps in 2015 was taking anti-depressant medication!

I've been taking amlodipine, gabapentine for fobromyalgia and pain also quitiapine is these combination contribute to my leg pain

Peripheral Neuropathy was one of of the many adverse effects I had from statins. Unfortunately, I had to figure it out on my own. Neither my PCP nor the neurologist I went to made the connection. Before they invented high cholesterol, I doubt this would have happened.

This assisted living facility is too much. They brought me here but feel that they abandoned Me Apollo In Hollywood. I Need to survive so I don’t complain Not enough staff and too many residents.! I have needs and feelings….😮 someone needs to evaluate this Place and help us.

@@patriciadoty6268 Do you have family or close friend near your facility that you can confide in? My Dad looked after a long time neighbor when he went into a nursing home and my Mom (ex Psych Nurse) advised my Dad to go visit George unannounced at different times of the day (to witness different staff / changing shifts). In George’s case the facility passed all my Moms tests, but this was also a few years before the plandemic.

I take Citalopram and Diltiazem, I am experiencing extremely stiff joints, neck pain and pain throughout my entire body. I need to get off these medications. I will call my doctor to discuss. Thank you very much for the information. I had no idea what was causing my body so much pain.

Ive been taking ambien for probably 10 years, and have burning foot pain. Thank you for the very well researched, medical side effects on these medications

Dr didn't tell me that longterm use of Ambien and sleeping pills cause addiction to it. I had withdrawal symptoms to gradually stop using them.

@debbievanbrunning4802: I just left a comment. This video randomly showed up in my KZread feed. I’ve been on Ambien (zolpidem) for 25 years. I have such nerve pain in my feet for years and - of course - have had to take either Gabapentin or Lyrica - 2 Satan drugs that I finally weaned myself off of and have just been suffering with the pain. I had no idea that Ambien could be the cause of nerve damage. I feel so outraged that I was never informed of the potential consequence. I’m sitting here speechless.

I attribute my neuropathy to ambien. No longer on it, quit nearly two years ago, neuropathy still here and getting worse.

Im taking Ambien too. Ive had foot numbness along with burning sensations when its hot weather and freezing feet when its cold. A very unusual sensation.

@Jerrold Frank: Well - that is disheartening. I’m sorry. I wish I would have known about this years ago. Glad I did not fill the prescription for Dulozetine that I recently received. I read about it before starting it and thought no way I’m putting that poison in my body. I’m so disappointed in doctors for not informing me of potential consequences. Now I have to figure out how to wean off of zolpidem. I tried a few years ago and after the 3rd night of no sleep I gave up. Couldn’t function.

Wow, I just recently asked my VA doctor for her advise on the growing number of meds I’m taking, and are there any potential complications? NO RESPONSE. This video was an eye opener. Many thanks as I’m on one Rx from each list. How do I find an Rx coach?

Ask your pharmacist. They have to tell you if there’s an interaction. Your file should have had a warning come up when you ordered new meds

I am 79 (a few mths. short of 80) and have been diagnosed with P. Neuropathy and have sever pain over parts of my body for no apparent reason other than meds. My neurologist put me on gabapintin and my condition worsened. This seems to be the med. that they are prescribing for all kinds of problems. Damned if you do and damned if you don't. I am one of eleven children with 5 siblings older than me still living and the most healthy one (89 yoa) never has taken any long term medications. Speaks volumes to me now but I might be a little late getting the message.

I've heard Niacin reduces cholesterol. Is it a realistic replacement for statins?

As a type 2 diabetic, my doctor had prescribed me statins such as Atorvastatin, Rosuvastatin, and Simvastatin. Its good to know the side effects these statin causes.

@@NerveDoctors I know that it’s always said that before stopping any medication, one should talk to one’s doctor. I have taken upon myself to stop taking Simavastatin, on the day I stopped, the pins and needles in my entire body stopped also. I am finally able to get a peaceful nights sleep. I still take my Nuphoria Gold and Blue supplements everyday. I am taking an OTC supplement for cholesterol in place of the statin drugs for now…. Thank you for making my life better without the continuous pins and needles throughout my entire body. I am surprise you do not have more subscribers for the valuable information provided here. No other videos have I come across ever talk about what side effects other medications can cause complications for peripheral neuropathy. Keep up the good work.

@@ginger6582 it’s time for you to find a new doctor. When I told my doctor about my issue, he said I no longer need take statins as my cholesterol is under control 😀.

I take Veniflexine, I have neuropathy in my feet. What could I take instead.

I'm 59 and take 14 meds including 2 for nerve damage from a lamenectamy. Also take lorazepam. Also take an antidepressant. When I started taking gabapentin for my nerve damage and pins and needles pain in my feet. I have also been on oxycodone for 14 years. Take a bunch of others after heart attack at age 50.

I developed really bad DIPN from Zoloft and didn’t realize the connection until it was too late…. now I have peripheral neuropathy forever

I am 68 and on no meds! Living as healthfully as I possibly can (Today is Easter and I have indulged a little bit on Easter candy! LOL!

I've been on Xanax for nearly 25 years for sleep. 😢 and Crestor. My dad swears he lost good use of his legs when his meds were increased. Guess he is right. He takes a statin and metformin.

I currently take Verapamil and Hydrochlorothiazide. My cholesterol level is 226 and she prescribed atorvastatin but I refused to take it. I’m trying diet and exercising first. I also weaned myself off of Cymbalta a few years ago. The brain zaps were horrible and I still have them years later, from time to time. Horrible drug

try eating 4-5 walnuts every morning. my cholesterol is much better. my Dr. was surprised.

… great video; learned of the potential cause/causes of my nerve damage deriving from taking 5mg of Amlodipine twice a day. Aside, does the initial onset of tinnitus before the discomfort in the feet indicate anything significant. Have you all noticed any pattern with patients who reported symptoms of ringing in the ears; and THEN months later, symptoms of cold toes?

Hey there Mackay. Always great to hear from you. Great question about tinnitus. The fact that it showed up first isn't necessarily tantamount to the foot symptoms. I've seen this happen before but never with any real pattern. Blessings.

Got it… I’m about 6 months into the use of your two Nuphoria nerve support formulas in addition to other lifestyle changes, of course… but getting cold here in NJ so… tough season to judge progress. I can say for certain that the symptoms have not gotten worse.

I have had tinnitus for many years. No cold toes. Just cold feet of i wander around at night with no socks on. 😊
