Thats how mean streak in cedar point was before the rebuild by RMC. Steel vengeance is amazing.

I never made it on Men streak but you're not the first to tell me that hahaha We're heading to Cedar Point in August for the first time. We're spending 2 days there to try and do it right. 😄 I can't wait to get on Steel Vengeance and Millennium Force!

When I went on this after the first drop I wasnt screaming or anything I was just thinking in my head get me out of this coaster and I said the same thing when it stopped. Also after I went on it I had a bruise bigger than my hand on my left thigh for over a week

This was the first rollercoaster I’d ever been on, I think it was the early 90s or late 80s when I was a kid, and I never went on a rollercoaster again until the Boulderdash was finished lol

GB that's how I feel after most wooden coasters these days. It's your body telling you you're getting old. Just kidding my kids used to love that ride. I did it once and it was enough for me. Can't wait for your review of Boulder Dash. Another rough ride.

I think I had the same thing happen to me. I couldn't believe what was happening. lol. I've been on plenty of rough coasters but this one, like you said, can actually knock the wind out of you. That's not fun. 🤷🏼‍

I think anyone that grew up in western to central CT during the 80s has been on the wildcat multiple times. This was a somewhat popular park for school and camp trips, better than Quassy heh. Was a big treat to get down to Jersey for Great Adventure. Interesting landmarks when traveling to this park, ESPN and Otis Elevator's drop tower. Though Otis does not offer rides.

I bet. It's a really great park for that sort of thing. bug enough to be a blast. Small enough to keep tabs. We made it over to Quassey just to ride the wooden warrior when we were up there. Fun little coaster but short. That looked like a fun place too but I'd agree LC is clearly in a different class.

I get it. I have mine too. The two big one's in my life were torn down, bur Rolling Thunder at SFGAD was extremely rough at the end. 🤷🏼‍♂️

It’s probably happened to more than one person lol. It was likely around 95/96 when it happened to me. As far as I remember I kept quiet until we were off and just told my mom. She asked if I was ok, I said yes and we kept on our day.

I liked Boulderdash better in the front too. It wasn't so rough that i didn't enjoy it in the back but I get it. Wildcat on the other hand was miserable for me. I know I'm laughing at the end of the ride in the vid but that's more because I was absolutely blown away with how bad it was. I think I was temporarily deranged or something. I'm sorry to hear it hurt you. I could absolutely see it doing that.

I'm excited for the re-tracking! Still the final three valleys won't be redone yet so they are gonna be a reminder of what the ride was!

hahaha. Different strokes right? I still haven't been on a rougher one since (for me) and we've probably been on a hundred coasters since. I'm glad someone likes it though and I'm sure you're not alone. It's such a beautiful coaster. 😄

Went on this yesterday. I legit almost got whiplash, my head really jerked around near the end. Really shakes you around a bunch and makes everything hurt. But, there's nothing else like it in the world

The last time I was at Lake Compounce was in 2015. I rode the Wildcat and pretty sure I ended up with several bruises on my body from the rough ride 😅at least it's going to get a make-over so it will be a smoother ride.

wish I saw this video earlier! I too love wooden coasters, went on this bad boy yesterday (back seat no less) and OUCH my head still hurts today!

I wonder sometimes man. Is it the Coaster or is it me? lol This one have zero question though. Everyone on the ride said the exact same thing. WTF WAS THAT???? hahaha

my wife and I rode this in 2008 and ended up leaving the park early because of the "boobal and crotchal distress" this mnonster caused. The next day, her boobal area (lol soirry..I think it's funny. it probably isn't) was bruised from the insane jarring and bouncing. We still ride Boulder, though, bc...what a ride! This one...just ouch.

Stating how old Boulder Dash is, knowing this video is 2 years old. Knowing I rode that as a teen opening weekend, makes me feel old 😂😅

I also still have a chipped front tooth from Wildcat. It was my first ever roller coaster, and I was JUST barely tall enough to ride it. Smacked my face on the front of the car on the first drop.

The Wild Cat was closed this year for a make-over to make it smoother. Boulder Dash had a make-over as well during the off-season that has made it much smoother.

I rode it today. Woof

I was just there last week and regulars warned me not to get on it because is beyond rough while i was on line for boulder dash which i loved

an employee warned us not to ride it- it was down yesterday but we are passholders so my husband just said, "eventually we'll get there" and the guy was like, "dont do it!"

Went on this a few days ago three times. Once in the front, once in the back, and third row. Third row was he worst and I may invest in an even better roller. Thank you for this because my Mom keeps saying it’s because I’m getting old but I just rode Gemini and Blue Streak last week no problem. And two years ago Ghostrider and Shivering Timber’s felt fine too.

@@FullTimeCoasterTour The first time wasn't awful. I was front seat with the entire train to myself. In retrospect, I think the coaster couldn't get up to speed with just one person and that toned down the roughness. The second time in the back was worse than the first, but the train was still less than half full. The last time in the third row I was in a full train and that was the worse. After that, I refused to ride it again, but on the bright side it made Boulder Dash feel smooth by comparison.

Screaming Eagle at Six Flags St. Louis is like this now. Jostles you around like crazy. It's a classic but man, it's hard to like nowadays

Absolutely. There are others where I think WOW that was rough, but then I remember the hops on this thing. lol. Nothing Ive ridden and Im approaching my 300th has been quite this tough to endure. It's pure torturous perfection 😂😩

I rode this a few years ago right after it reopened from lots of retracking and all that work did not pay off :( I was still able to enjoy it though and it looks a lot rougher in this video. And I remember my first ever ride on it around 7 or 8 years ago being not bad at all... but Boulder Dash though is so many leagues higher it is insane!

it's so disappointing that the park obviously wants to keep the ride around and at a high level, but it just didn't work. We rode maybe 80-100 coasters since this one and it's still the roughest by far sad to say. Such a pretty coaster too.

I totally get it. A bad coaster, especially early in life can absolutely leave a bad taste in your mouth. "why does anyone like these things???" lol Glad you gave other coasters a shot. There are so many amazing ones out there.

This isn't even as bad as it was back in the day. I rode this in the late 80s as a middle school kid. It was even rougher, it's been slightly "improved."

lol I can't imagine it being rougher! We just rode the Comet at SFGreat Escape and it reignited my love for woodies. It's sad that with all the good work they put into this one it is still so bad. My neck and back are finally back to normal 😂

@@jaimecruz3420 We made that one a priority. Got on that during the 9-10 am extra hour. I loved it. I've now been on 4 of the 7 gigas and while it's hard to beat Fury 325 I think it might be my emotional fave. We're heading back to Cedar point before we leave this area. Didn't get on Valraven, Corkscrew, Blue Streak and host of other rides that we want to try. So gotta get back. 😄 Go try out Wildcat at lake Compounce and get back to me. 😄

This is in the elite class of coasters I won't ride on reputation alone. I went there just yesterday and Boulder Dash was honestly jackhammering pretty hard, but I still enjoyed it. But I didn't ride Wildcat, once again. Life is short, I'm old, there were plenty of other rides and the chance of this thing hurting me badly enough to ruin my day was just too high.

It was my first ever coaster, I chipped a tooth on it. I was like 6. I also rode Boulder Dash several times at its grand opening. Edit to add. I will ride both again 1 more time, my kids love theme parks. They’ll be our last rides of the day, BD followed by WC.

2022 ride, this thing was rough. I see it is closed for 2023.

Nah…I grew up in CT and rode this thing god knows how many times. Everyone knew it was a rough rider but we still went on it. The old Riverside Cyclone just over the border in Mass was even more aggressive…but NOTHING prepared me for what I experienced a few years ago at Busch Gardens in Tampa, when we rode that Gwazi thing. That made the Wildcat and Cyclone Town Car rides.

I guess that's why they changed Gwazi to Iron Gwazi huh? lol. I never had an opportunity to get on that one, but this isn't the first time I've heard about it being very rough. Up to this point, Wildcat at lake Compounce is the roughest ride I've ever been on out of the 260 coasters I've ridden.

It absolutely is. We made it on that one earlier in the year and while it had some rough spots it was ultimately enjoyable. (sitting up front helps 😉) This one is SOOO much rougher!

Yeah that ride sucks. My daughters LOVE it. My 6 year old went on 10 times in a row. She is 7 now and loves that park. My 10 year old as well, but she more likes the steel jobs

Rule 1 of Wildcat: Never put your hands up while riding Wildcat. I learned that the hard way when my head banged against the rider next to me.

The one instance where a retracking made a ride worse. Seriously though, Martin & Vleminckx completely ruined this classic Herbert Paul Schmeck design. The park got GCI trains, so why couldn't they do the retracking instead?

It's funny that Lake compounce is home to one of the worst and one of the best wooden roller coasters in the world. I finally got my boulder dash credit yesterday amazing ride wildcat was down but I already got that credit so I wasn't planning on getting on it anyway.

Boulderdash is spectacular imo. We loved it. We had a major issue ruin our intended marathoning it at the end of the night though. I made a vid on it if you didn't see it yet. 😳 But yeah I would ride that thing again in a second. Wildcat not so much. lol

Sounds like a good plan to me. I'm feeling the same way about coasters like this. I'm trying to ride every coaster in the country, but rides like this one or even Vekoma SLC's, Boomerangs like Zoomerang and some other models that always hurt are becoming harder to justify for me. lol I just had my first "gray out" on Millenium Force at Cedar Point last week too. Maybe I'm wearing down over here hahahah 😩😩😩😩

@@FullTimeCoasterTour I'm here at LC... I've ridden Boulder dash 8 times back to back. Previous time of back to back was 7. She's gotten rough Approaching the first drop, You can feel that it's jittery. Very bumpy. The back is almost unbearable Still an awesome ride. The front was the best/smoothest. Dare I try Wildcat? Lol I just got off 2 rides of Phobia. A zoomerang/boomerang ? Once You've ridden one.... You know the rest. I'd only ridden one SLC, Riddler's Revenge. I didn't care for it. Definitely one and done. I rode Phobia 4x....I didn't bother with Wildcat.......went on The Pirate ship, rode Zoomerang and had a blast on Thunder and Lightning along with a ride on The Ferris Wheel. A superb day!! I was going to go on BoulderDash one more time...the line was insane! I was tired and hungry. I'll be back. So grateful this is about 40 minutes from home.

@@J1Z06 What an amazing day Jay!!!! 8x on Boulderdash. I could see that being a bit too much for me. lol As much as I loved it, it can wear on you. I felt the same way with Mine Blower in Fun Spot Kissimme. So good, but it kicks the heck out of ya.. interestingly All Boomerangs are not the same. I think the best one was at Darien Lake for me. Some are very rough and some are smoother, but it definitely is the same ride. It's a shame that there aren't more giant, inverted Boomerangs. They are good. I think I might be done with SLC's though. Ive yet to get on one that didn't hurt my neck and head hahaha. I count credits but sometimes it ruins the day so is it worth it? lol Thanks for the trip report man. I loved it.

Probably the reason the coaster is to rough is because of the poor recent retrack and how the dinn corporation rebuilt the coaster and how they could have messed it up

I don't doubt it. This one is truly bad. I couldn't believe what was happening to me. I was holding on so tightly and trying to stop my body from bouncing up and down so aggressively. it was painful. It's unfortunate because it's a beautiful coaster that they put work into not too long ago. I'm sorry to hear your experience was so painful. 😬

The wildcat at lake compounce was definitely rough. But let me tell you. It was nowhere near as bad as mean streak at Cedar Point that rollercoaster was absolutely horrid.
