Scoring more runs with a great batter will help the pitching when they are struggling. That alone will help you win more games especially if the Astros make the playoffs where every run counts even more.

Both personally, not necessarily against another bat, but pitching is also needed.

I heard this massive 3 team trade scenario where the Astros get Vlad,Basitt(starting pitcher)Kevin Kiermaier and another reliever and only give up Javier (who has had injury issues) Bloss and 2 Prospects...We know this team will not keep chugging along with the same inury prone players...It's time to seal the deal...Yeah we are playing good now, but the bats could go cold as they started...so the more bats and another Good starter...makes us a WS favorite

Trevor Bauer as your 5th starter. He’s willing to pitch for league minimum and Astros don’t lose prospects. One last championship run together with Bregman and Verlander!

Bregman is affordable and Astros don't have a peña waiting like they did Correa. Once Verlander is off the books tucker and bregman are possible. Bregman issue is years not yearly pay. He isn't getting a significant raise.

@@imallstar1 Shay Whitcomb plays 3rd, 2nd, SS, LF and RF and is crushing it in AAA. So yeah, they do have somebody waiting. He's hitting .310/955 OPS and lead the minors in HRs last year with 18 through the halfway point this year.

We have trouble leaving so many dam men on base, the era is fine as a collective. More runs can only help the pitching staff.

Give loperfido a chance at first and look for pitching

Need pitching. Not Vlad

A starting pitcher has more value over a starting 1b. A pitcher can shut down the whole game. A 1b can go 0-4 and the team still win. Go pitching, if crochet is available he should be a target.

@Andre25167 I like Crochet, and I really think he'll do well at Minute Maid. Now, you can mix and match with Framber, Ronel, Justin, and Hunter. Even without Garcia and LMJ, what I've mentioned here would be a good mix.

Loperfido's average is already on the expected downslide. He strikes out too much. He is not an answer over even Singleton. Dubon should just play 60% of the time there. Singleton's splits on second days when he plays is much better, so either start giving him the everyday gig again, or release him. But Loperfido, is just not the guy YET.

Loperfido will eventually break out, and remember, he started off really good for a few weeks. We'll need another pitcher, but an off-the-radar first baseman who can hit might be able to fit the bill. The Astros cannot afford to give up any more prospects.
