With how the economy is going I think van life is becoming increasingly more popular, I’m super fascinated by the lifestyle because it seems so freeing!

i did it for 3 years and will be returning to it again soon, like anything, there are pro's and cons, if you get stressed easily or can't part with everyday ease, it can be very mentally challenging, you're never really alone, unless fully isolated, people will always be looking at you and some even trying to look into the van, someone even tried breaking into mine once! WHILE i was sleeping in it! - you have to find places to shower and poop and sometimes cooking is a real hassle, but it's really nice to wake up in new places every day and i love it because i can't fully decide where i want to live so that's why im returning to it, you should try it for sure, give everything a go once right

But…nothing is free. Go ahead and find a job and work for 40 years. Then it will be all the MORE freeing. Nothing is free now if you are under 60.

@@123downthecount5My van got towed by the locals. I don't have a van anymore. They waited for me to leave and hooked it.
You are fortunate to be able to quit van life. Van life isn't dying, just the millenials who did it to be "cool" are getting bored with it. Poor people who have no choice will continue to live in cars and vans, or RVs if they are lucky.

She didn’t quit. She’s getting a bigger van. It was an attention grabbing title for views
I love the clever way you integrated your narrative with prepping the van, especially writing the topic on various items. You are an inspiration and role model. Thank you for sharing your life with us.
i love that you bring up decision fatigue, most don't even think about this. I have felt this so much living on the road as a solo traveler!
I LOVVE how educational this video is, and how creative! Such a great job, friend!

@@sarahyak_ Steve Jobs is or was Elton John. I said is because Im not convinced he's Dead. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.
It's so funny, I'm much older than u r, but I've realized that the space isn't what defines u or make u less happy. I've been living in a in-law apt for 35yrs (1 rm, a sm bathroom & a galley kitchen) & have the bare minimum. For me less is better the older I get. I could totally live in a van, BUT with age the only amenity I need is a indoor shower. 😂 I say, do it as long as u can. I regret not having ur fearlessness & doing what my gut told me to do. Life is short & we're not guaranteed tomorrow...
I’m glad you’re not quitting vanlife, can’t wait to see your new build and new adventures!
Van life has always been around, I was doing it in the 80s and my aunt did it in the 60s. It just wasn’t as hipster as it is now, we just looked like hippy tramps back then 😂
Love the cinematography and creativity with writing the diff negatives while cleaning/prepping the van. 💫
Oh how I miss van life! It will definitely happen again and this time with all the knowledge gained along my journey as well as watching yours it will be much more enjoyable , sustainable and long term. Thank you for always sharing so openly and authentically !🙏🏼
How to kids in their 20s finance a40-80k van and travel?
honeslty i Hope more van lifers quit as they have ruined the dispersed camping areas out west. I don't say this with malice but with open heart as I have seen so many van lifers post videos and ruin areas.

So glad you're going to continue!
Can’t wait to see your new build! :)

The short bus looks cool.... Good job. - I think that one reason that people leave Van Life ... They won't admit it... its because they have a difficult time just to relax. Many say that "time is our most precious commodity"... but many Van Lifers have hours and hours and hours to do essentially nothing. Some can't deal with that.
I think is my favorite video you’ve ever made!!! So informative and beautifully filmed

I love your vibe and narrative!
Yes, the more I lived in the van, the more cities, Walmarts, and other places started patrolling their parking lots and not allowing anyone to sleep in the lot overnight. It was making it more important to be a stealth van to live in the city. It started to put a squeeze on me every night to find another place to rotate to and try not to get the knock on the door or tickets. I've moved into a house and I've hung onto the van for a year now. I need to either use or sell it.
Such a beautiful video! Loved it!
I have been watching you for 3 years now and I'm still extremely admiring how far you came and how much you evolved❤ Keep doing what you love also I wanted to ask can you send me the link to your earrings?

You did a VERY nice job on your build! ❤
I couldn't handle van life. I live vicariously through van life vloggers. I need roots and more predictable security. Even an efficiency apartment would be better for me. Wondering about where you're sleeping every night is just too much for me. Even a roommate would be preferable. I rescue dogs and cats, so my yard is very necessary. But i do admire those who travel in their vans and see the country and nature.

No. It's just a phase some folk go through. This generation just put it online. It's a failure to quit, you're just moving on. Like all things, it ebbs and flows. Hope you enjoyed the adventure.
Love the honesty.
I hope you will have a bathroom in this new van, and will have kitchen where door slides, btw I really like your video.
It’s a journey some feel the need to be nomadic and explore. After awhile we all want a change. Everything is on its way to somewhere else.
that’s true. im considering van life because i need to save up for a house
Great video! How much was the lcd screen and where did you get it from? I have a transit 250 and mine went out about a month ago. Thanks

I'm glad your not quitting. I think more people will be vehicle living soon. But out in nature that way they can escape cities.
You showed "Lost Renegades" as someone who is quiting van life, they swithched to a truck camper, so I call bullshit on showing them.
FYI Sarah.... you should never wash a vehicle with dish detergent. Dish soaps are formulated to cut through tough grease and should never be used as car washing soap. Even gentle dish soaps can ruin your car's clear coat and protective wax. Always use a cleaner that is made specifically for vehicles.
Just commenting to boost this amazing video ❤

1920s van life? We need to know more about that. I wasn’t aware that there were vans then. What did they look like? Did they have cheesy shiplap? Plz do another video!
there are people who don't have a choice about living in their vehicle other than with no vehicle

How many miles to the gallon does your Van get all loaded up?
Thank you for the video
For me, I'll use public facilities for my needs. I won't camp in the boonies, instead I'll rent actual recognized camp sites the way this life is supposed to be used. It actually forces us to be social. I have PTSD from being in the army and having been deployed to Afghanistan, so i really need to be social so i use public facilities much as i possibly can.
So where is a good place to find used built out van for sale?
Awesome video!
Van life, schoolie. Box trucks all the same lifestyle. Just like apt. Condo or house is the same Think we need one name for all like nomads and the nomadic community. Ever consider haters are the same as the prejudices people have had against gypsies Going back centuries.

I would love to have a van but only for camping with family. We can save money on hotels.
Best i think get a minivan be able to blend in
No, it's not. If you think so, check out van prices.
I am part time van lifer during the summers. I legit hate other van lifers and totally understand why the world is shutting them down. I stay at campgrounds, RV parks or deep in the woods when I travel. You know; the areas we've designated for nomads to stay. But Van lifers just roll thru public areas and set up like its their living room. They take over beach side rest stops, hot springs, parks, stores. Areas the public want to enjoy, they just flop out and hang their laundry and move their shit buckets onto the street. It absolutely ruins the atmosphere, denies others who are being responsible the opportunity to use this public spaces and is overall distasteful. Just because you CAN pull over somewhere and you dont see any "no camping" signs, doesn't mean you should. Stop acting entitled to the most coveted spaces on the planet and start going to places designated for camping. And maybe people will stop enacting laws and generally hating on van lifers

They have deceptive language for misdemeanor crimes like "stealth camping" meaning trespassing or otherwise illegal camping. It's amazing they are so forward about admitting to low-level criminality. No self awareness.

I filmed a bus tour that’s on my channel!
Well some people dabble in survival and some people live it whether they need to or not. Some people don't like having a heavy load, don't like having too many possessions, try to limit their responsibility as much as possible in order to be free. And then there are people who are fascinated by freedom but don't want to really sacrifice to have it, these are the people leaving the life.
The judgement part made me laugh as a black person because I don't even have to live in a van to get that treatment.
Is that your new home @14:53?
Nice video 😊
