Those 5% who are doing good on the Upwork platform must collaborate with each other and start guiding free lancers a right path to grow the image of Pakistan.

I agree with you Irfan. The course selling trend in Pakistan should end now. Influencers are pushing beginners into the market, spreading misinformation. We should focus on other ways for freelancers to find work, instead of relying on these platforms.

This is one side of the picture. The other side is clients who are resourcing projects in 5 to 10% of the actual price. If 1k project is done on the price of 60USD , the outcomes are clear!

Very thought provoking and 100% agreed. We need to set our base standard to quality acceptable standards. Moreover, 3% are getting tired on these platforms, as its more than a time waisting. Anyway my suggestion is to comeup with quality institutes which can change then 3% to at least 30%.

💯 agree with you Sir, it's happening due to the other 95 percent. I have a lot of examples and one of them is a person who told me that i have an upwork account. I said great, and then he said i even got an invitation from client but when he demanded samples I didn't know what samples were and how to upload them? TBH, it's very painful, I am holding 7 reviews on upwork all with 5* ratings, Alhumdullillah.. but, struggling due to not getting orders. Lack of work, getting down by upwork algorithms as a Pakistani.

That is true. My profile always shown to me as number 1 in searches. Whereas, in stats i see just one or 2 clicks daily and some times 0 in 2 to 3 days. I believe I have optimally healthy profile but clients just don't see it in the list an ultimately i am invisible to them!

I am a data and bi consultant with almost 14 years of experience. The problem is why the quality of services of Pakistani consultants is being red flagged due to the pay and salary for starters. That's why they start doing freelancing and these freshers think that jack of all is better than the master of one. I am working in a multinational company as a consultant in Pakistan. What I found is that young people like instant gratification and slowly but surely approach is an alien thought to them. People like you can help new upcoming gen Z people that quality of the product is important to clients and they will mostly not compromise on it. And for this you have to work for years to master a particular set of skills.

Sorry to say I hired a freelancer from Pakistan on the freelancer platform after completing this job and receiving the full amount he gave me a scrap code the code malfunctioned after a few weeks. This is true from now I couldn't hire any freelancer from Pakistan

If the Upwork algorithm is smart enough to understand that there are a number of freelancers who might not be up to the mark from a certain country, then why block the entire country's population from using it? Also, why does it affect the freelancers who are working from Pakistan with a 'Top Rated' or 'Top Rated Plus' badge, which consists of the top 3% people who have been delivering quality over the years? Upwork algorithm should be smart enough to understand the fact that these people with the badges are not amongst the remaining 97% of the people, regardless of what country they're from.

On Upwork search, when I type Spring Boot, it usually shows many Pakistani devs in 1st and 2nd page (2 - 3 months ago). But all of sudden there are Indian, Bangladeshi instead of Pakistanis. I can feel the heat!
