Up Close With Rhinos is by far the most popular tour in Animal Kingdom, and maybe even all of Disney World. This tour only has a limited number of slots and only runs once a day.
This tour is by far my favorite activity I've ever done in Disney World!

What is Up Close With Rhinos?
Up Close With Rhinos is a 60 minute animal tour offered in Disney's Animal Kingdom. This tour requires advanced reservations, and they are not easy to secure. During this tour, you will head backstage with a small group and a tour guide. An air conditioned van will take you out to the White Rhino Barn where keepers will greet you. During this tour, you learn about rhino conservation and the dangers that rhinos face in the wild. Our tour concluded with us being walked outside and around to the side of the rhino barn where Dugan was waiting for us. Small groups were allowed to go up to the side of Dugan and meet him with some scratches. Disney does not promise that you will get to interact with a rhino on this tour, but that is the intention.
Is Up Close With Rhinos Worth It?
Yes! I give this tour a 10/10! This tour is absolutely worth it. Being able to have such an up close experience with a rhino is truly a once in a lifetime opportunity. Not only was this tour educational, but it was just extremely cool. This tour was definitely worth the money, and I would gladly do it again!
How to Book Up Close With Rhinos?
Reservations open up at 12:00AM EST 60 days out from booking (at midnight 61 days out). If you are a Disney Resort guest, then your booking window will open at 12:00AM 60 days out (at midnight 61 days out) from your resort check in for the length of your trip, up to 10 days. This gives resort guests a huge advantage over non-resort guests. If you are a resort guest, then I highly recommend aiming to book this tour later into your vacation to give yourself the best competitive edge at securing a reservation. For best results, make sure you are signed into your My Disney Experience account. The web based platform often works better than the app at recognizing your resort reservation and allowing booking.
