The problem is you need to delete the ""TYPE HERE" first, I figured that out back in 2006. The type here is actually something you can delete away, if you paste something the TYPE HERE will stay and crash the game.

This game meant a lot to me as a kid. Back when internet was still getting it's legs around the world, we had a computer at my house that was mainly for work for my parents, but had a game or two on there to play. One of those games happened to be Ultimate Flash Sonic(I don't know how it got there, it just was.) Since we didn't really have any game systems at the time, I played it over and over because I had nothing else to do and it was fun! Even after I unlocked everything I just kept playing and trying to see what more I could do with it, trying to find secrets or go as fast as I could. It was a lot of fun and I still have fond memories of playing it as a kid.

THIS WAS MY FIRST SONIC GAME AND I THOUGHT IT WAS REAL BACK WHEN I WAS TEN YEARS OLD!!! And I still thought it till recently when I discovered it again! I had way to much fun with this game it's so good :D

Oooh, I played this A LOT when I was a kid. This is nostalgia in SPADES! (This was way before my introduction to the official Sonic franchise)

Perhaps this is the most well made fan game flash ever made. A real classic.

Former commercial Flash developer here. The rails and some other elements looked the way they did because of the way non-box collision worked in Flash, coupled with some limitations of pre-CS distributions of Flash running AS2 (later versions used AS3, which was more advanced, even permitting some 3D and fancier collision analysis). Ergo, they were merely vectors which could do linear collision. They did a fantastic job with this, given that type of collision was dubiously reliable most of the time, but managed to rarely glitch out in this particular game.

Super Mario 63, sonic ultimate flash, ssf2 and ssf1, sonic smash brothers and super Mario bros z were my childhood. They were just so fun back in the day

Literally the best sonic Flash game ever made. I used to be pn newgrounds and I spoke with the gut that made this game regularly. He actually taught me alot of the action scripts I would use to script platforming games. Those were the good old days

I remember playing this on a school computer on my downtime. Fond memories of a time where it would have been a godsend to own a computer.

I loved this and slush invaders. Oh and the mario flash games.

Ultimate flash sonic was my childhood

The Newgrounds flash player is actually a skinned version of the Adobe Flash Projector, which will soon be the only official version of Flash.

One of my favorite things about the game that you didn't mention was that there were different 'routes' you could travel, like if you fell down in the wrong place, sometimes it leads you on a more 'dangerous' route, which was fun, and sometimes I'd go back through that route before the end just to collect extra rings.

I played this back in 2015. And today, after watching this video, is when I realized Amy and Shadow are in the game. For 5 years, I thought there were only 4 characters?

Making the screen wider makes the footage bad for everything except for one thing which is *W I D E P U T I N*

Gosh the nostalgia, this is what started getting me into sonic when I was like 7

I’m SO glad I found this video! I used to play this game among others all the time at a lifetime fitness “daycare” and I never knew the name, now I finally have the satisfaction, thank you😁

The game I got introduced to for Sonic. I’m still a fan to this day. I love this game so much.

I still pick up Advance 3 to do a couple of time trials almost weekly, it's such a fun time to replay IMO. The first playthrough with navigating the hub worlds and fighting the bosses isn't the best Sonic experience in the series, but it's definitely one of my all time favorites to replay.

I play this every now and then. Definitely one of the best first sonic fan games. I’ve never seen anyone actually play the game without cheat codes though. I had no idea you could unlock those characters by just playing the game lol. I wish it was a longer game too but you definitely have a fun time playing it regardless of how short it is. And yes, the extras are absolutely what makes this game.

It’s a good thing this fangame was so fun. This was what introduced me to the series as well. An odd thing that can be triggered though, is an infinite spring glitch, when you pause the game, as soon as you land on the top. It’s like a moon-jump cheat.

I played this game a crap ton back in middle school on the school computers. I remember finding quite a bit of very strange bugs that allowed you to do things like clip through the stage.

It was short, had a few Easter eggs and codes I struggled with when I was younger but it was a great game that filled me with nostalgia, I always hopped on when I had the chance years ago
