Nowhere in the Bible were tithes received from earned wages. Monetizing the tithe as a deliverable was man's idea. Abraham (Abram at the time) submitted a one-time honorarium from items of spoils of war that he declared he wouldn't accept. There's no biblical evidence he ever "tithed" again or that his submission was required by God. And yes, systematic tithing under Mosaic Law was specifically purposed towards the Levites, the poor, and for consumption and sharing at the festival(s) - always from consumable items. Today's version of tithing carries no biblical precedent nor was tithing referred to as a "principle". We're free to give, not bound to pay.

Sort out your earnings. Cover your income tax and fixed costs. Pay your bills on time. Whatever you keep, give with a cheerful heart.

How does Malachi carry on? Jesus himself said that tithes are of the Law.. we see this in Matthew 23:23 and we know that he said yes we should tithe but this was before his death and resurrection they were still under the law.. Now we see Galatians chapter 3, that if we try to make ourselves right by keeping the Law that we’re under God’s curse …the church preaching tithes is cursing the church ..this is one time I would have to disagree with what’s being said by this Pastor and it’s sad,but we do know and understand that only God is perfect… And yes, it does say that God loves a cheerful giver, but he’s talking about given to the poor … all through the New Testament we see where we’re to give to those in need and how we should give freely…Galatians 6:6 and a few other places it talks about how we should be taking care of those who teach the word… My question would be where in my Bible can I find that Jesus gave a tithe? Or are we adding to Gods word today? ”You must each decide in your heart how much to give. And don’t give reluctantly or in response to pressure. “For God loves a person who gives cheerfully.” And God will generously provide all you need. Then you will always have everything you need and plenty left over to share with others. As the Scriptures say, “They share freely and give generously to the poor. Their good deeds will be remembered forever.”“ ‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭9‬:‭7‬-‭9‬ ‭NLT‬‬ Let’s also remember in acts chapter 2 that they gave everything to the Apostles and the Apostles gave to those in need so that nobody was without.. Now we are told that we are to give to a building and in that building many in that same building many are going without, not all of their bills are paid some even going without 3 meals a day and some going without their basic needs…instead we send it to other countries and places that have absolutely nothing to do with the immediate body of which are giving..and many fail to help Gods people outside the four walls feeling they already gave their tithes to God.. Let’s remember in Mathew 25:31-46 Jesus teaches us how to give to Him ”“But when the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, then he will sit upon his glorious throne. All the nations will be gathered in his presence, and he will separate the people as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. He will place the sheep at his right hand and the goats at his left. “Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the creation of the world. For I was hungry, and you fed me. I was thirsty, and you gave me a drink. I was a stranger, and you invited me into your home. I was naked, and you gave me clothing. I was sick, and you cared for me. I was in prison, and you visited me.’ “Then these righteous ones will reply, ‘Lord, when did we ever see you hungry and feed you? Or thirsty and give you something to drink? Or a stranger and show you hospitality? Or naked and give you clothing? When did we ever see you sick or in prison and visit you?’ “And the King will say, ‘I tell you the truth, when you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were doing it to me!’ “Then the King will turn to those on the left and say, ‘Away with you, you cursed ones, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his demons. For I was hungry, and you didn’t feed me. I was thirsty, and you didn’t give me a drink. I was a stranger, and you didn’t invite me into your home. I was naked, and you didn’t give me clothing. I was sick and in prison, and you didn’t visit me.’ “Then they will reply, ‘Lord, when did we ever see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and not help you?’ “And he will answer, ‘I tell you the truth, when you refused to help the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were refusing to help me.’ “And they will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous will go into eternal life.”“ ‭ In Malachi let’s read chapters 1 and 2 and getting a better understanding of whom was robbing God and who was allowing the robbery…it was the priest and infact we can read in nehemiah chapter 13 were the priest in charge of the store houses were using the store houses for their family… Malachi is 100% about the levites and temple workers and the robbery that the priest we’re allowing to go on… God had made them a promise and the priest weren’t doing their part so the levites and temple workers had to go back out and work because they weren’t getting their portions… No we are not under levitical law!

There's no biblical evidence of Jesus or the Disciples tithing under Mosaic Law nor is there any evidence that anyone ever tithed from earned wages. This makes sense as there was a "tithe of the Land" and a "tithe of the herd" (Leviticus 27:30-32). Nowhere in the Bible was there a tithe from monetary wages mentioned.

Indeed, it's absolutely true. And the circumstances change when individuals embrace the blessings of the most high and the king of peace. In Jesus' name, give.. 🙂

Just one thing, did the early Christians Paul, Peter, James, Philip etc. pay tithes? And to whom did they pay? Christians should support church by giving generously but why call it tithe? Should it be 10%?

If you are giving grudgingly out of duty to God, you are just checking off a religious box. If you are giving out of gratitude to God, then you are truly giving to the kingdom of God.

1611 Hebrew Bible tithing means tenth of what you have been blessed with. If God gave you a crop to eat and sale. Well you give a tenth back to God at his church. Most of the time the church gave the tithes back to the poor. Always tithe in God's name even if you don't really have it. You will be blessed back. Full circle in God's name. God gives more. Ty brother Tyler

You need to reread your Bible! No man is in charge to tell us who and where our money goes. You need to be embarrassed of yourself!! It wasn’t a principle it was a law! We don’t even need to have a church building, a paid pastor is not biblical! You are a typical seminary trained person! I give to help others when presented , a family or friend or stranger! Not to a church unless I know God tell me to.
