    Closest we can come to time travel is downloading our brain patterns into a computer, and uploading it into a virtual reality version of the past/future where your consciousness can't tell the difference, and all the same real world possibilities that exist now exist in the virtual reality.

    If the technology to travel back in Time were ever made, even if it is 10K years from now... wouldn't we, in this timeline, already know about it? Also, if Time travel to the past is possible, then our "Present" is someone else's past. Does that mean we are Infinite?

Given that A) traveling at super hyper speeds slows time down for the traveler and B) it accelerates time for everyone else, then when the" brakes" are slammed down, wouldn't the traveler actually be in the PAST relative to everyone else that served out his time and is long gone?...Just wondering.

We may not know what's in the future; but, you do. Meaning we are destined for the future you briefly experienced. Sure you could change the future for some of us; but, not every atom on the globe. Maybe we can time travel maybe not now but surely into several thousands years or hundred of thousands of years later when we are able to develop more technologies and understand space fabric and time and the universe better. But sucks cuz we wont be around and if humanity still exists humans might not be human completely but maybe hybrid of something else. Cuz survival of fittest and evolution! Its crazy just to imagine

    How do you go in the future if there's no future to go too

  • @andrewhanson5942
    @andrewhanson59425 ай бұрын

    Well by science we can travel forward in time. Basically by traveling at near the speed of light. That basically puts you into a suspended animation state with regard to the rest of the universe. That's not really traveling, just treading water while the universe moves without your participation. Regarding actual time travel, forget it. Time does not exist. Only three spatial dimensions and the movement of matter and energy within those three dimensions. Instead of defining velocity as v=d/t we should be thinking of it as what we call time being DEFINED by t=d/v. Motion (velocity) is the more fundamental variable and therefore is reality. Time is thus imaginary, a construct of the human mind. Simplest solution to the question. Occam's Razor. Must be the most correct. I challenge you to prove me wrong.

  • @MichaelWinter-ss6lx

    @MichaelWinter-ss6lx

    Wow, yeah. How far does that go ? If time is just a construct, to help us percieve our reality, and it is, then the same goes for meter or foot. Distance does not exist. If you don't believe it, I suggest you look into how our perception of the surrounding world is made. What you see and hear, its really only made by the brain. 🚀🏴‍☠️🎸

    @@MichaelWinter-ss6lx Michael, Oh now we're getting philosophical! I do see a difference between the realities of time and distance. Time I can't directly sense with any of my five senses. Motion I can. I think time is simply a convenience for running a civilization, to get everybody moving in some kind of survival enhancing sync. If you think about it, every clock ever invented depends upon some regular motion at its heart, be it a pendulum, a balance wheel or the vibrations of a cesium atom. Distance and motion I think are about as real as it gets (or needs to be). Sure, your body is an imperfect translator of all that happens around you and really only perceives those things that are pertinent to survival of the body and mind. And thus our best picture of reality only comes through that filter. But I'm personally OK accepting that. I kind of accept it "as good as it gets" you know? Thanks for your thoughtful reply. Enjoyed chatting with you. I find the subject to be fascinating.

    If the past was an actual physical place! Then we may actually go back in time. Otherwise we can only watch a movie was shot in 1970 But physically we can never visit. End of storie. But alos i remember one day i dreamt about visiting the 90's and literally asking people and they told me it was 1993! Maybe there's a place in the past or the future through dreams. In our dreams we actually leave our bodies to worlds that may actually exist! I suggest we should study dreams and wether the places we visit are to some degree real? Or is it just our brains are playing the images?!?

    that is no more time travel than freezing or chilling something or someone in a fridge or a freezer. the idea of time travel is that you'd disappear from the present and then show up some time later or earlier, usually decades, centuries or even millennia. besides, you keep saying moving near the speed of light slows down time for whatever is going at that speed, but why should we believe that? an electron or proton doesn't have a clock nor do they seem to age in any sense. can you at least say they decay faster? do they radiate energy faster? they certainly aren't disappearing and then reappearing some time later.

    Scientists and big brains around the world. Time travel is impossible simply by applying Fermis Paradox regarding alien contact 'Where is everyone?' After studying this subject matter through chaos theory & philosophy for 30 years, I have yet to find anyone, scientists, mathematicians or even people in my field of Philosophy that grasp the absolute simplicity of this application of Fermis Paradox to the impossibility of time travel. This form of 'proving' what is now shown to be impossible does really show how much expectation bias has made this topic 'theoretically possible', almost inevitable & in nearly 99% of all cases sees very smart and unique thinkers trying (badly) to prove the possibility of time travel from the contention that time travel exists without explaining HOW it actually came into existence. A scientific case of 'Cart before the Horse'! Please add your own thoughts to this indisputable argument against this ridiculous time travel possibility pseudo-science. Science is, after all, about science based fact and leaves beliefs to those who choose to follow them to their own peril. There is, of course, another more plausible argument against time travel than all this incorrect & non evidence based acts of folly. Can you guess it using logic and real-world thinking? CLUE: The answer lies in the Drake Equation, which actualises how to find inhabited planets using mathematical probability as a base. ANSWER: L for Length or duration of planet population is a pretty depressing alternate as to why time travel is impossible. Did we destroy ourselves before the technology was invented?

    Time travel is not possible because time is absolute and is the same for all inertial frames! The proof for this is that nearfield light has been experimentally measured to be infinite, and deriving Relativity using infinite speed nearfield light yields Galilean Relativity. See papers below for proof. This can easily be seen by inserting c=infinity into the Lorentz Transform, yielding the Galilean Transform. where time is the same for all inertial observers and no Relativistic effects are observed. Also only the present exists, the past is gone, and the future has yet to be. So if a moving object is observed with farfield speed c light, then Relativistic effects will be observed. But if the frequency of the light is reduced such that instantaneous nearfield light is used, then no Relativistic effects will be observed. So with the flick of a switch, Relativistic effects can be made to vanish. Since Time and Space are real and are independent of the frequency of the light used to observe it, then the effects of Relativity are not real and are simply an optical illusion. Many researchers have independently verified nearfield light is instantaneous, and it has been measured in different ways. In addition theoretical analysis using Maxwells equations agree perfectly with these results. These results show that the phase speed, group speed, and front speed (information speed) are all instantaneous in the nearfield and reduce to the speed of light c in the farfield after about one wavelength. Some may say that many experiments have proven Relativity, so how can Relativity be wrong? Well no experiment can prove an experiment right. They can only provide evidence toward a theory. But one experiment can absolutely prove a theory wrong, and the experimental measurement that nearfield light is instantaneous proves Relativity is wrong. The evidence here shows that it describes only an optical illusion. Since General Relativity is based on Special Relativity, then it has the same problem. A better theory of Gravity is Gravitoelectromagnetism which assumes gravity can be mathematically described by 4 Maxwell equations, similar to to those of electromagnetic theory. It is well known that General Relativity reduces to Gravitoelectromagnetism for weak fields, which is all that we observe. Using this theory, analysis of an oscillating mass yields a wave equation set equal to a source term. Analysis of this equation shows that the phase speed, group speed, and information speed are instantaneous in the nearfield and reduce to the speed of light in the farfield. This theory then accounts for all the observed gravitational effects including instantaneous nearfield and the speed of light farfield. The main difference is that this theory is a field theory, and not a geometrical theory like General Relativity. Because it is a field theory, Gravity can be then be quantized as the Graviton. Lastly it should be mentioned that this research shows that the Pilot Wave interpretation of Quantum Mechanics can no longer be criticized for requiring instantaneous interaction of the pilot wave, thereby violating Relativity. Consequently the Pilot wave interpretation should become the preferred interpretation of Quantum Mechanics due to its deterministic simplicity. Don't get me wrong, we know a lot but no where near what we need to do many things. Nevertheless, if you place two entangled particles one in regular space time, another in accelerated motion or near the ergo sphere of a black hole, you would start to experience time slippage. Or the intertwining gravitational wake of two colliding black holes where you actually wind up in the same spot before the time you left it. This constant accelerated motion also allows time travel without entangled particles. Of course these are all hypotheticals.
