i love the fact that every load on the back sits down flash with the front that way no air resistance n good fuel outcome as opposed to having a canopy on the back with lots of water n fuel cans on the roof,, very impressive

I might be from the bush and my opinion way be a bit screwed but this just seems very city, (all the gear and no idea) I’m used to 5 post bull bars, side rails and snorkel with a lift and that’s about how far I’d go with a new hilux, their already so capable without most modifications

I need that front n rear bar, the Dobinson suspension lift kit, and those set of wheels. Can you come over to New Caledonia and install them for me ? I wish 😥🤔👍🙏

Will it start with a broken windscreen without a visit to a dealer to reset comp ?

Most of the time no. Sometimes there’s a bracket on the rear that has to be cut out but that often depends on your individual build. You are however going to need at least a 2in lift. I have a 22gr sport with a fox 2in suspension lift and the aforementioned 285/70r17 with 17x9 rims. My set up has had no problems whatsoever.

@@darcyshaw6308 No, just removed the mud flap and pushed the wheels forward with castor adjustment during wheel alignment. Trimmed the wheel well liner too

Im impressed with hilux ability to cross river.

The Hilux MOD looks awesome! ( Just a little concern about the complex Animal rock sliders side-step, dirt and mud might be stuck inside it, driver have to wash under body of pickup truck frequently as when driving on the muddy road condition ... ... )

This is an awesome build video but you've skipped over some details... How were the tracks mounted on the roof? Did you correct any diff-gears to ensure the speedo was accurate given the wheel size was increased? Did it have to go over the pits to certify the vehicle lift (not sure what it's like in VIC; WA is restrictive)? Cheers

The tracks are just strapped on. No diff gears, we find the hilux fine with the 285s. Speedo now only out by 3% so we just live with it

@@offroadanimal thanks for confirming. I was looking at the Front Runner system which is bolted. There's a few horror stories circulating on YT and 4wd forums with riveted roof racks. The rivets are fine, it's just the steel they're going through isn't thick enough for that application

@@1chrisandrew1 if you see how many Rhino tracks are fitted to hilux's with zero issues compared to the few with problems I'm sure you wouldnt worry about i.

Can you post the dobinsons suspension part link? I want an adjustable lift like this, but when I rang dobbinsons they just gave me a standard quote, no adjustability and no remote reservoir. Did this suspension also come with a GVM upgrade?

Sorry we didn't by the suspension online, so not sure on the link, Go into a shop and they should be able to give you what you seek. No GVM with this kit though

If you add them up we're still under as our parts dont' weigh too much

Noticed you didn't mention anything about engine output I assume it's a stock motor but if you did tune it how much more power can you get from a 2.8?

Yeah we didn't touch the motor. Still went well, but yes a tune would be nice. I've heard of people getting like 10-15% gains with a proper tune

Yes our Toro bars are identical to the predator bars from below the top, it's basically a predator bar with hoops added. Only 7" round lights max on this bar due to the small grill

Happens to every bull bar. It's because the body is mounted on rubbers and the bar straight to the chassis. Tons of videos on KZread showing this

My hilux had direct hit with some other car, radiator gone, after inspection dealer said that there is no impact on chasis. performance willl not affect coz of radiator replacement right?

What? I'm not following. Do you have a factory bumper or one of ours? The mounts of bumpers and bull bars are designed to absorb the impact so the chassis does not have too.

The vehicle has a reverse camera. Also every single truck (like semi trucks) you see on the road has the rear blocked. It's normal. And not a problem unless you don't know how to drive

what's the extra weight before and after conversion? If you're using your Lux to tow a caravan and off road then total weight becomes a concern.
