Oh, Nick, I hope the residents of A de P don't decide to take revenge on you. I suppose there's ugly and there's ugly. Being by the beach in the sun will do a lot to relieve the ickyness. How about Quarteira? That always gets a bit of flak. It's almost like there are towns that were thrown together while the planning department were on holiday. Personally, these places will always have a place in my heart, especially Quarteira, as I remember walking through the not-yet-developed spaces while visiting in 1982, when only the row of shops, cafes and bars existed on the waterfront. Saudades, indeed.

A de P is ideally located for most things. We always walk from Galé beach to A de P. It’s basically set up for all the workers to live in and service the surrounding areas. I see why you would call it ugly but I’m oddly attracted to it’s desolated look. And it has a beautiful secret call “La Tasca” ran by two elderly Portuguese couples - One of the best restaurants in the Algarve x

What do they say, "beauty is in the eye of the beholder"? IMO, the Algarve has such wonderful year round weather, outstanding beaches, gorgeous vistas, fantastic recreation options, available shopping for anything and everything you might need or want, great food and absolutely fantastic people. Sure the grafitti is a problem, but it's a problem all around the world. And yes, litter is an issue, particularily in tourist season, but again, tourists make a terrible mess everywhere they go. So, I don't know Nick, a splash of paint, a mowed lawn, a few planters of flowers etc. and I'm pretty much a happy camper anywhere in the Algarve, it's all beautiful to me 😊 As usual, another great video 👍

It’s interesting the translation of Armacao de Pera. The translation on Facebook is always “Pear Frame”. So in combination with your translation it would be the “hard structure (fortress) protecting the town of Pera”. Does that make sense? We love AdP. Everything you need is walking distance away. Great food, beautiful beaches & coves, and family friendly. We just hope they can clean up the trash situation a bit better in the future. Another great video!

Not ugly per se, just modern. You could say the same for Monte Gordo. They don't have the old town centres like, let's say, Tavira or Lagos, but they're functional tourist resorts offering tourists happy days by the sea.

All the towns in the Algarve are beautiful in their own way, some more than others and especially if you focus on the sun, the sky and the sea. Try not to see the graffiti, the old derelict buildings and the "newer" buildings that seem to be right out of the Austin Powers collection from the 70's design books. And Nick, here in the US, Holiday Inns are not nice. They tend to be the cheaper, more seedy hotel choice in the not so good neighborhoods. And I have to take issue with you, Mr. Robinson. You lure us in with some great, really compelling content to the point that we are anxiously waiting on your next release and then we find ourselves waiting for nearly 2 weeks and you give us this? With some stock footage of the beach from July 2022 to boot? C'mon man, you mailed this one in. You have got a legitimate fan base now and we expect better. For example, the recent video you did in Luz. That was outstanding. You showed me the town, the people, the food, the bars, etc. I felt like I knew Luz to some degree. The videos you have done of some high end Algarve real estate were also among your best. Not trying to offend, just my .02. Thx

There alooooooot of ugly towns in the Algarve, currently I'm here in Quarteira and being from the Gold Coast Australia the difference in aesthetics is astonishing plus the amount of just run down old buildings allowed to just sit in disrepair is crazy. There is barely any speciality coffee, not a single place in Quarteira or Vilamoura, food is standard fare, very average. Constant wind at beach, very rare that its fine enough to bother spending time there. The plus side is the locals are very friendly and the wine is exceptional for the price. Loule was pretty with one place run by a Dutch lady that does a quality speciality coffee ☕️ 👌
