    The original pool must have been great; I really like the shape. Turning it into a pond what all the rocks and the wetland really just took it to magnificent. But with both the wetland and the traditional filter, I am curious why there is so much algae? Will it clear up on its own or do they need to add some bacteria?

    It’s almost a brand new build when this was filmed - only 6 weeks old! So the visible algae is mostly surface biofilm. It is very much new pond syndrome. As the biology and plants mature they will start to outcompete the algae. We just thought it was such an unusual project we wanted to share it with the world on Greg’s KZread channel.
