@@JDP2104… as evidenced when he took Tim Meadows character “Christian,” (Lackawanna Co. government office paper contract buyer) to the business dinner at Chili’s and surprised the sh!t out of Jan Levinson Gould by getting the entire county’s paper business… Michael has, on several occasions shown himself to “accidentally” make some pretty good business decisions…
“Crunch” “Did it help?” That might be one of Pam’s funniest moments😂

I think her funniest moment was when she was away at school and her and Jim were talking on the world's smallest bluetooth. Jim and Dwight went to confront Kelly about their job assessments and Kelly snapped at Dwight, "Dwight get out of my nook." And Pam said "That's what she said" into Jim's ear.
"I don't care if Ryan murdered his entire family, he is like a son to me" this explains why he forgave him for starting that fire

I think it helped that David wanted him back. There were other ways out of this with just a little bit of thought but I think David realized but Michael was the reason the branch did so well and he just needed to save face getting him back

He was the company's best salesman 4 years in a row with Packer. He mentions it in early ep. There's a reason Jan brought him to Radisson meeting. His an awful but hilarious manager but when it comes to the negotiating table, he reigns supreme.

I love David's somehow positive reaction to this statement. It shows that on a certain level, he always respected Michael and his line of negotiation gave him the perfect reason/excuse to hire him back. And, to be honest, I think it's obvious he's always despised Charles.

He is loyal but to the boss. In 1-4, Dwight also loves Michael, but in the episode where he says "I am going wherever they value loyalty the most" is something that comes up in Michael versus Charles. As he likes Michael less and realizes more of his flaws, he distances himself from Michael and tries to rise above based on his own abilities and reputation. Then he becomes endeared to Charles and sees his actual competency and respectable demeanor. But in the end, Michael gets the better of Charles, and Dwight is left somewhere in the middle, with Charles turning on him and Michael no longer trusting him. In the next couple episodes though, they manage to work it out, and they come to a new and more mutual respect for each other.

One of the best story arcs on the show. From Michael quitting and making French toast for him & Pam to their “office” downstairs with each of their corners & the cheese puffs to them selling the company back to Dunder Mifflin and getting all their jobs back. Absolutely brilliant.

I like how fleshed out Dwight became as the show went on. Things like the bees plan and falling for Jim's pranks are why we understand how Michael can call him an idiot, but he's also bold and assertive and can be savvy and sharp. In different circumstances he can be a moron or brilliant. Great character.

I like Jim's 'ahhh but you didn't' response to Charles saying he thought of the buyout too but didn't say it. Small passive/aggressive victory for Jim's failings with Charles.
Funniest thing is that Dwights bees idea actually would be the best idea at defeating Micheal, he knows him best

The Michael Scott Paper Company Six episode story ARC started strongly and ended up hilariously with Broke. Overall one of the best The Office episodes of all time

@@sortofanoakyafterbirth3661 it was decades since they were first on and back then Comedy Central and TBS showed about a dozen episodes a week and Comedy Central STILL post’s numerous episodes. Not trying to sound rude, but people who discovered this show streaming, years after it ended, have a different perspective than people watching it when it was NEW.

Those six episodes, to me, are the high point of the series. All the storylines work together seamlessly, and Steve Carell is just superb.

@@paulhardin9731 I agree and they never did a ‘story arc’ before. The cold open with them tossing ‘cheese puffs’ into each other’s mouths was one of my favorites. Not to mention the hot Idris Alba as the new boss. Great ‘bonus’ for me. The episodes in season 4, all about Ryan and his involvement with corporate, like ‘Money’ wasn’t a story arc, imho

@@Kiokato1 what was she, or any of them, supposed to do, though? michael had absolutely no idea what he was doing as a business owner and none of them had any reason to think he did, and he immediately drove his company directly into bankruptcy, but not before stabbing them all in the back first. there's a reason his only employees were those who had nothing to lose. was everyone else just supposed to accept "well, we're family, so i guess i'll lose my job and stop providing for my actual family for michael scott?" is that what you'd do if your family member came to you with a harebrained business scheme and no qualifications, experience, or funding to back it up? michael could've chosen to ditch scranton. he's a great salesman, and could've found another job. instead, he chose to screw over everyone that he called a family just to get back at corporate. who, as they pointed out, were fine- it was the scranton branch that got hurt.

Everytime I watch anything Office I feel happy, calm, comfortable, and always lol's. Few other programs do that.. apart from some of the older classics.. OF&H's etc... One of the all time best IMO!!!

Most iconic business move : 5:47. He had nothing to lose. People are whats important to him.
Ryan dropped a profound line and it almost went unnoticed “ you shouldn’t go around throwing the word , ‘ exciting ‘. It cheapens the word. It’s like the word ‘love ‘ “

I can't believe this cuts the "Does he do good work?" / "No, Jim, I use a bad apiarist." And that perfect eye-roll! Hahaha!!! Dwight Schrute is one of the greatest, most iconic characters in all of TV history. Rainn Wilson absolutely nails it!
The one in the end where Michael says "..and I've looked at this thing a 100 different ways. From my side, from their side, ... (pauses - can't think of any other ways, so goes with), and 98 other ways.." LOL!!

When I noticed it my first thought wasn't him breaking character it was just that Dwight WOULD do a villain smirk in response to that Charles' line.

I remember this entire story arc. When Michael was begging someone to come with him I kept saying “Go with him Pam” it was so much like Jerry Maguire. Then Michael taking David and Charles down. Perfect!
I am confident The Office, the American version, is in the top 3 most successful TV shows in history. My biased opinion, they're #1, but realistically they're in top 3 of all time. There's no way they're less than that. I think over time, anything that beats them, will slow in popularity and the office will surpass them. They'll be #1 of all time

I think you are missing Dragon Ball, Rick and Morty, Game of Thrones, Beaking Bad, Better Call Saul, etc... Michael's character is just not funny. Idk what the writers of the show tried there with him, he's a great actor, but his character is just... pointless, imo
