G'day coffee enthusiasts! In today's video, we're diving into the world of automatic tampers, and we have something exciting to share with you. Meet the brand new prototype of the Cinoart PTB, a pre-release version of the Precision Tamp Below, designed to sit perfectly under your grinder!
If you've been following our coffee journey, you know we've been using the Cinoart range for quite some time. But with space becoming a premium in cafes, we needed a solution that allowed the tamper to sit below the grinder. Enter the Cinoart PTB!
In this video, we take you through the impressive features of this new automatic tamper. First, the tamper comes with a convenient cleaning device, making it a breeze to maintain. With a 58.3mm flat base, tamping has never been easier, reducing any issues with channeling around the basket.
And the best part? Cinoart has truly improved the tamper head, ensuring minimal coffee grind buildup. So say goodbye to those annoying clumps and hello to consistency in every tamp!
Customization is key, and the PTB allows you to easily adjust the pressure and number of tamps for each handle, giving you full control over your espresso quality.
With its sleek design and a responsive LCD screen, the PTB is not only space-saving but also user-friendly. Plus, it operates on just 60 watts of power, making it energy-efficient.
We've tested it with various grinders, and the results have been exceptional. From the Anfim SP2 Plus to the Mythos, the PTB suits a range of models, and cable management is well thought out.
Though we're still awaiting its official release and pricing, we can tell you one thing for sure: The Cinoart PTB is a game-changer for any Espresso Bar or Cafe! Stay tuned for updates, and if you're in Australia, check out our store for the latest on this fantastic automatic tamper.

For a new shop or a remodel, a dropped down section built into the cabinet just large enough to accommodate the tamper and clean up around it, while leaving the grinder base at counter height would might work well.

That's a big piece of tech, not sure which brand our one is, and probably not as tech focused, buts it's about half the height of this. As always pros and cons to each machine

I have a Cinoart PT2 and I'm curious about your double tamps. Do you have them both the same pressure like on the puqpress or do you go from hard to light or light to hard.

Great video! How would this one compare to the Puqpress under grinder tampers? M5 etc.

Was wondering the same thing lol, imo the Cinoart's advantage is the leveling system, and varying pressures which I found personally to be useful. Since Puqpress uses straight piston tamps, the leveling isn't so great depending on what angle you insert your portafilter and playing with the forks are gimmicky. I've had experience using the Puqpress M-line, Puqpress Gen 1s and 2s and the Cinoart PT2. I found that Puqpress tends to have better build quality, better materials and is known to hold up for years upon years with billions of tamps. If only Puqpress had Cinoart's leveling system that'd be gold.

Great video. Are you guys going to do a video on the i-Milk Microfoam or is that still just a prototype ?

This is random but is there a difference to why y'all use 58 over 54 mm and why the 22.5 dose over the 18 ? Just curious to know a difference in the coffee taste or quality when trying to calculate that dose to grind to time for different beans etc

Is there something similar for home baristas, that would be suitable for a Eureka Grinder

Massive overkill for home use... Unless you're making 200+ coffees a day

Ngl I admit I bought a Puqpress Mini, on price error for $700 and absolutely love it. I found my shots were more consistent, but you can get similar results from the normcore tampers/palm tampers.
