Is This The FUTURE Of OFF-ROAD?

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Can Rox Dawg actually wheel... or is it all for show? After our Wrecked Rides Build Feature, this was the #1 controversy. Some people said its impossible for a car like that to actually function on the trail and move the way it does in a dirt parking lot. So we met Rox Dawg on a hardcore secret trail that only'
the hardcore rigs know about because they are the only ones who can do them, and put the Rox Dawg to the test. The test consisted of how it did getting to the trail, how it did in boulder gardens, waterfalls, technical climbs and much more. We had a verity of rigs with us including a Red Dot, 2 portal cars, the 7x Rock Lizard buggy and of coarse our rig. Check it out and see If this thing stands a chance against some top builds in the industry.

I get what everyone is saying about it probably being insanely complicated to wheel the rock dawg, but I'm thinking about how fun it would be once you have a handle on it. Generally a lot of hard obstacles have pretty much one solution, but with that rig every obstacle has almost infinite solutions because you can change so many variables on the rig.

Just like all rigs its going to have a learning curve. A bit more than most, but like you said once you got it down the opportunities for bigger and harder obstacles will be there.

You hit the nail on the head when you said Rox Dawg looks like an inch worm because that is exactly what I was thinking. Now, do you really need a rig like this? Maybe. Do you want a rig like this? Oh heck yea! Terrific video folks and yes, we would like to see a challenge between your rigs. Keep having fun and stay safe!

ha ha ha it totally went to Inch Worm mode. its a lot of rig to drive but its so cool to see something built so differently and work so well. showing that the mold dosnt have to be the same and shows that some of his ideas could be worked into the normal style rigs to push limits in the future. I dont think this is the rig for me. but man do I appreciate it and have so much fun wheeling with it.

Stuff happens. We had a kid graduate boot camp. So we bought a $2000 camera and huge lenses around 2004 or so. The morning of the ceremony we realized we had forgotten to charge any of the 8 batteries we bought. At the time they were stupid expensive and the Mrs was devastated. Lesson learned? Make a checklist for prep at home, checklist for trailhead, camper, truck. If you use the checklist you’ll be about 90% perfect. The other 10%??? We all have a slice of moron and /or idiot in us. Keep up the great vids, keep living the good life

people I follow were invited to 24 hrs hell and back. I am not into rock crawling they say ( trail ) but looks like no one has been there or should not be. they went like a mile, One said, you could winch that in less than 24 hours. I had thoughts of something like your rock dog that could step over obstacles/ rocks. So happy to see you have done it. It looks like you could lead 24 hrs and not take that long to do it.

We were on 24 hell and back in AZ. My rig is the blue rear steer. the green one is my buddies. the trails they did in the 24hour hell and back takes us about an hour or so. we got little air time because we drove it so easy. But we have purpose build rigs and are pushing the limits of crawling. most the cars in 24 hell and back are road worthy witch is wild they can do the trails they have been doing. Just different levels of crawling.

If it had a computer controlled gyro/gembal that assisted with adjusting the center frame to keep it centered/neutral or lean uphill/downhill to shift weight and prevent tiping.... He can do that by hand it appears, but the reaction and hand controls are slower. If it was automated in just that sense it could be even more capable. Very interesting and unique and has some major advantages.

The future of extreme off roading will be electric. The whole suspension would be new. No need to have "limits" of drive lines, u-joints, shocks, springs and so on. Electric wheel hub motors only need flexible wires. Totally new and unique systems can be built. The only "hold over" would be tires. Add some compute power and motorized suspensions, a toddler can drive over the absolute most extrema runs. ( The toddler could sleep as it would be a very smooth ride). And because it is electric, you won't need to worry about range or fuel. As solar panels and other forms of energy production could charge the off-road truck as needed. ( some tech is still out, but on its way ) Think of all the limits we off-roaders hit when building a flexy rock crawler. Most of those "limits" would be gone in an electric rock crawler. Keep in mind, the main cross over parts would be the tires, as everything on the e-Crawler would be "new" things.
