    That truck is SUPER clean! That's the cleanest 4runner I have EVER SEEN!!! I'm runnin a 97 4runner SR5 4x4 with 180k miles! Yours is way cleaner! I have done a bit of work to mine but really minor things compared to this. Replaced the gold badges on it because they were corroded to the silver badges, repainted the lift gate trim near the latch, got a different hitch from the junk yard and completely refurbished it, got TRD off road tacoma wheels, new center console lid, new lights for my climate controls, installed an OEM roof-rack, installed an OEM spoiler, and did a little rust clean and touch up OEM paint work to that rust on the lift gate. My truck has a major OEM chrome and black theme to it thanks to the trim and trd wheels and I LOVE IT!

    @@sapclan2896 thank you! That was exactly my intent with it. I didn’t want to disturb the body lines and design that, in my opinion, Toyota got perfect. But I still wanted to tap into the capability side while keeping that. Sort of a “sleeper” off-road build. Good luck with the 99, enjoy!

    Nice 4Runner! That might be the cleanest 3rd gen I've ever seen. I have a 2000 4Runner with 230K that has been in the family since new. It has been well maintained, but not as clean as yours. Sweet build! Brings back memories of my ‘99 4Runner SR5 - same color inside and out. Looked just like yours. Put the Sonoran Steel 1.2 lift on it with 285/75/16 tires. Had it from ‘05-‘15 and lived out of it during the week for 4 semesters in college a couple hours from home. Didn’t want to pay rent so removed the rear seats and a blowup mattress fit perfect. Slept in it Mon-Fri and went home for the weekends. Had to sell it for a down pymt on a house. Have had a ‘79 Toyota 4x4 and a ‘99 Tacoma TRD Off-road since but really liked the balance of the 4Runner and flex of the rear 5-link axle. Was going to suspension lift the Tacoma but the frame rust was out of control, so sold the truck. Miss the 4Runner though. Really like your ABS mod and e-locker install. That’s a keeper!

    Bra this is a clear runner, I have a 2000 millennium silver with the blue interior as well. I couple things u should look into is the Solo Motorsport’s stock length boxed LCAs. There pretty much stock geometry except the lower ball joint hole is pushed forward about 1” for more clearance and also has extra armor around the lower ball joint nut. And for the exhaust I highly recommend the cat back magnaflow overland series exhaust system, sounds really good and has absolutely no drone.

  • @4funner66

    Thanks man! I looked at the Solo stock length arms! Pheeew they’re pricy. I just did whiteline bushings and eimKeith reinforcements welded onto my factory ones. Would be nice to get more caster capabilities though. As for exhaust, I’m leaving it for now since I plan to buy a 1UZ V8 to build up soon! This time next year or so, I expect it might be under the knife, so I’ll probably have to do something custom for the exhaust there

  • @kkainaluu808

    @@4funner66 yeah the LCAs are a Bit pricey. Between those and my SPC UCAs set 2 notches forwarded pushing the spindle flowered I would say the front wheels have moved forward at least 1” 1/4. Choke room now. If I was gonna do v8 swap the flow master super 50 series would be my muffler choice. That muffler keeps that sound of a v6 but is able to handle a v8 well. I have a friend will a 4th gen v8 with that muffler and it’s 👌🏽

    Was searching for a 4 runner in my area , dude there harder to find than hens teeth , any four wheel Toyota ,nobody wants to turn loose of them , I wanted something to haul a small boat and go camping , well I found a 2002 4 runner with 187,000 but it is only 2wd and I got to thinking I don’t really go off road that much and I could always add a winch to help get me out of a pinch , when I saw your truck I said wow it’s a fine ride then I saw the the updates and said that’s a “dam” fine ride , when I got mine it’s white with gray interior, there wasn’t any paperwork that came with it but it’s clean ,has a few door dings , but it did come with free Disney stickers on the back window and some chocolate shake stains on the rear carpet 😊, I’m in process of going thru it from front to back to do all maintenance, it runs like top but needs valve cover gaskets , timing belt change , rear wheel seal, I’ve had it for about a month and a half and I’m in love !

    @@4funner66 , chocolate 🤔? Just had the valve cover gaskets, PCV valve and grommet, spark plugs , wires , radiator replaced , new rubber throttle body intake , and rubber steering bellow, done , yesterday, $ 1300, still needs timing belt with bearings I’ll replace water pump and idler while getting that done and it still needs rear wheel seal , I just want to make it a reliable vehicle, the mechanic did point out there was a dead squirrel between the shroud and radiator 😳🐿👍🏼

  • @4funner66

    @4funner66

    The JK 2.5” lift coils are great for stock weight. They are very soft, and wouldn’t do well at all for your bumper and 35” spare. I’d recommend Landcruiser 7.5 wrap springs for that. They are the exact same ride height as the 2.5 JK Springs, but will actually handle the weight you have. You can even still get them new, too. Part # 48131-6A570 (x2). You can use an OME 10mm trim packer on the driver side to make the lean go away. :)
