I came across this app maybe a month ago and have been debating getting it. I'm still a student so the music library has been great to me. I agree that the app is a great value for what they are providing but people who don't know the benefit of using an urtext edition won't really appreciate it. Beginners often benefit from the highly edited editions. Advanced musicians want to be informed and make their own musical decisions. Once I graduate, I might get this subscription.

Cris Piano Well they are the Urtext or original edition of the composer’s music and printed on good paper and IMHO, easy to read. I usually copy them with printer and practice and mark up the copy to preserve the book. And yes, they’re expensive. As Josh mentions there is a Henle app. Great for iPad. Other editions are often interpreted by great pianists. And are also valuable and vary in price. Alfred editions are also good to learn from with comments from good teachers who provide phrasing, fingering, pedaling, etc which Henle editions mostly leave up to the performers. Good luck with your decision!

Question. How do you execute the cluster double note(Glissando like scale passage)in the coda section of the third movement of the Prokofiev Third concerto ? Do you use the Martha Argerich execution ? Could you do a video explaining your approach to this daunting section of the concerto ? Also what finger pairs do you use in the Tremolo chordal trill section of the first movement in the Brahms second concerto ?

  • @keybawd4023

At bar 137 -138, most pianists do glissandos. I know for certain that the late, great pianist André Tchaikowsky did the glissandi. As for the the trills in Brahms 1, it depends on your hands, 3:5 or 4:5. Radu Lupu told me that there have been times when he has been so tired he faked it - thumb: 4+5 together - and no one noticed!!

Bobbi Dee Music Lessons You can download them which is great since I travel a lot and still enjoy looking at sheet music even if I’m not playing. You cannot export or print off the sheets which is really annoying but I’m guessing it’s a licensing issue. And the fingering is going to depend on the edition. On the sheets that I have downloaded there are not any fingerings written in however it it probably an edition thing
