    I was looking at the Rhodes & Gigibon version and they all look the same. It's like one of those products that one company builds a product then 10 companies put their name on it . I have a DJI Osmo that I use a DJI M-15 FlexiMic on it but since I got the Z-Axis arm installed the DJI M-15 FlexiMic is now useless because it gets into the Z-Axis arm's way. So, after further review of this Comica, I went ahead and purchased it. I do have also the Sony ECM XYST1M Microphone which I use on my Osmo but because the foot of the microphone is all expose electronic metal, I have to put a masking tape on it to prevent it from shorting out the audio when I mount it on the Osmo bracket mount.

    Hi Brian, really enjoy your videos and it was because of them that I was convinced enough to buy the Osmo. I find them really informative, but not overly complicated. Like many people, I decided to look for an external microphone and for a long while was favouring those produced by Rode. Fortunately, I came across this video and made the decision to go with the Comica . I ordered it from Amazon and it arrived today. It's definitely as good as you described it, although, as of writing, I haven't actually plugged it in and tested the audio yet. The case that it comes in is a nice addition, but I was disappointed to discover that mine didn't come with the universal mount, which would definitely have been worth having.

    Thanks and that's glad to hear we've helped you decide. It's not a bad Mic at all. My recommendation for a wireless Mic. would have to be the Sennheiser EW 112-P G3 GB Wireless Lavalier Microphone System. It's really good but not that cheap.

    Dudley Warner sadly no, not from the research I’ve done into it, myself being interested in the mobile 2. We could get an L bracket to mount both the Osmo and microphone of choice to, but still somehow need to connect it to out phone. Sadly the ismo covers up the charging port, the only port we have.

    Hi Brian - just wondering, are you using a iPhone 7+ with your Osmo - do you have any weight issues with strain on the gimbal if that is the case - many thanks again

  • @AfriOptix

    @AfriOptix

    7 жыл бұрын

    +Darron Saunders Thanks Darron. Occasionally, with the gimbal turned off and the handle slightly off the vertical, the Iphone 7+ appears slightly unbalanced but the moment you switch the gimbal on, the motors are quite powerful to easily counter any slightly unbalanced weight distribution. If it's heavily unbalanced, then the motors will do a lot more and battery won't last as long .

    Another nice video. As others mentioned please keep Osmo mobile in mind. It would be great if you were to get the new mobile top for your existing handle that was announced at CES. These products are great, but I'm envisioning where things could be in a few years. Your video reaffirmed that the built in osmo audio is useless. Since a mic is necessary, perhaps Dji will add a dedicated spot to mount a mic in the future. Also, if the attachment arms had USB embedded, your setup could allow for a swivel motor on the mic mount, so the mic could be set to face the same direction as the camera. If used with iPhone 7 and osmo mobile, do you know of a lightning cable direct to this mic, to avoid apple's headphone adapter and the provided cable being used together?

  • @AfriOptix

    @AfriOptix

    7 жыл бұрын

    Thanks! I actually have the new M1 on order and will definitely include the Mobile Osmo in review going forward. I'm not aware of a lightning cable to TRS cable for audio and when I tested this mic on an iPhone 7plus, I had to use the lightning to headphone jack dongle.

  • @TheTekSone

  • @h_t_s

    @h_t_s

    7 жыл бұрын

    You should be able to plug the mic with a dongle to iPhone 7/Plus. But the problem is you'll hardly get the phone balanced in position of the Osmo Mobile. You need to have space in between lighting connector of the phone and Osmo Mobile to be able to plug the dongle. My second idea was to use a bluetooth mic but doesn't work during video recording. Now I'm using a separate recorder TASCAM DR-05 what of cause means extra weight...

My passion is to share information, freely and in my own style , fashion and time so of course I have to defend myself when you nit pick over trivial issues.
