Is this the BEST Honda Civic Engine Swap? (Not K Swap) | Boosted John

Today the ultra clean Honda Civic EK Hatchback gets it's new H22 Euro R engine! This is the highest horsepower H series engine that Honda ever offered. I am excited and honored to be running this engine in my car. With that said, today we install the engine, get it running, drive the car, rip the car, and install new Konig Heliogram wheels on the car. This is one of the most content dense videos I have ever made. With that said, if you would like to show support for all the work I put into this video, please consider liking the video :)

    I used to own a 96 EK with a H22A1, had some work done in the motor and daily drove it with a 130 shot of nitrous. Pretty much killed everything on the freeways. Yes I would go thru bottles about 1 every 2 weeks. Best time of my life.

    The best honda engine overall is the D series in my experience. Sure you get new fancy stuff in the newer Ks and Hs. But you dont get 50 miles to a gallon for every 50 smiles per gallon unless you have a D16.

Great motors don't get me wrong just easier to put your money elsewhere rather than sleeving

    In regards to that belt whine. Check the timing belt tension. If it has too much, you could be killing one of the idler bearings or placing undo stress on the timing belt itself. A lot of engines have a lot of potential if you build them right. D, B, H, F and K. I personally like is the B series because of the sound. I'd enjoy the sound more than the extra power of a k. I also want to build a 1.6 or 1.8 K20. Shave down the deck if possible for a deStroker. I bet a K20 with 1.6/1.8L internals, possibly shave the shortblock deck, it would destroy all 1.6/1.8L circuit track classes.

    When it comes to private car sales, the trick to not having to register your car within thirty days is to get the seller to not write the date of sale on the title. I bought my chassis in January 2020 and it's still unregistered because it's been parked and I've been working on it this whole time; I'll just make up an unsuspicious-sounding date when it's ready to go in for emissions testing and plates.

    Awesome video! Was looking at h22 videos cause I own a 5th gen prelude and glad I stumbled upon this. Subscribed instantly lol. Are you running a gates timing belt? Mine screamed like a SC too for a while even after adjusting it. These h22 timing belts do not like to be too tight. Keep up the good work!

    A jon I highly recommend a Moroso oil pan , oem honda pans dont have to proper baffling needed for track use. Oil starvation is killer to a engine .

  • @accord_aero_r

    @accord_aero_r

    Correct me if I'm wrong, but from what I've seen, Moroso's pans are intended for Accords and Preludes. H2B setups have a different engine tilt, and KSTuned makes an oil pan (baffling sold separately) specifically for H2B cars.

    i love the h series there cool and stuff just not as reliable as the b or k series but if your keeping it stock i think its the best engine swap but the b is more reliable for higher hp bc of the oil pump problems in the h series

    I had an H2B Euro R in my EK although it was fun having the torque the high revving was not there like a B series and the car felt really front heavy while driving it in the canyon or track racing at streets of willow. In the end I sold the swap and went back to a TYPE R K20A much better

  • @RollingRoadEFI

    @RollingRoadEFI

    Жыл бұрын

    I bet you had the Accord/Prelude transmission too, right? That’s the reason. In reality the H is only a total of 34lb heavier, and with the H2B swap the stock B series flywheel is much lighter anyway so you save 1/3 of the added weight right there. The weight is an illusion, the placement is everything. With the H2B swap the B series transmission sits in the factory location and the engine is angled differently. The result is a totally different feeling.

    Other people have said this, but please look into doing some oil system upgrades if the plan is to track this car. Oil starvation during cornering will kill an engine very quickly, and I really don't want to have to watch this new engine grenade itself after one track event.

    Im calling bs on 235whp on a stock internal h22. I dont care how good the tune is. Been around countless h series all motor making that power and they have head work, cams, bumped up compression ect. You’ll be lucky to crack 200whp with that setup dyno it and prove me wrong

If you were making 230 or even 220 the car would trap 109-110 Atleast. People with cams and higher compression make 230 n/a on a h22. How can a basemap replicate that?
