While you mentioned the old TAS of 9:39:1, it would have been cool if you also mentioned the new TAS made by bismuth that uses the new glitches found (as of march 2023) in 11 exit to get a time of 9:28:331, proving that another 10-second barrier is indeed possible, though extremely inhumanly difficult, even just with the current pathing.

Definitely is something to point out for sure. For this case I just zoned in a lot on specifically the human element. I’m not sure with current knowledge we’d ever see better than a 9:38 RTA.

@@Kosmicd12 I should’ve harped on DP1 guy properly you’re right. Something that I kinda overlooked since Japanese runners have been adding in other strategies instead of going for that. Now they don’t really have as much choice. The reasonable path towards 9:38 is definitely fast yoshi + dp1 guy.

Watching drams hand cam at 1:45 is just absolutely wild to me--it's crazy how fast certain inputs can be done

Not only that, but people are doing vob1 wings in all castles and no starworld runs, and current small only wr skips a cycle in morton with a wall jump. All the crazy strats have somehow become "viable."

It's always so hype when 11 exit gets more optimized. 11 exit cloud is a super fun speedrun. That's a crazy lead for such an old and well speedran game.

you beat the stage and it sends you back on the world map. It doesn't roll the credits but it does give you an extra exit

But let's be honestly, "making the credits pop up" ≠ completing the game. You just glitched the credits to play you didn't actually beat the game. Every single category in SMW ends when you defeat Bowser, THAT is defined as beating the game so why is this any different? Credits warp is a silly little bonus category like orb%, nothing more. The any% category is still 11 exit, that is the fastest COMPLETION of the game. This controversy over this has always bothered me because so obvious yet everyone still obsesses over the naming. If there was a warp to go from level 1 to the Bowser fight and you cleared that then fine, but that isn't what's happening here. There is no actual completion. PS, fun fact I accidentally found a warp to Bowser in Super Panga World but no idea how I did it or if that is even possible in a non ROM hack.
