Sommaroy (Sommarøy) might just be Norway's best island. It is a quick drive from the big city of Tromso and we were immediately met with crystal clear water from the Arctic Ocean. It appears this place is much busier in the Summer, but even though it was freezing outside, we still wanted to experience it.

Beach with a view of snowcapped mountains is unique! Jenny, just do a trust fall into the water. The dock area is gorgeous. That fish crunch sounds great. That burger is bigger than your head Jacob!

May i ask which shuttle from Tromso you took? I know the bus does not run often out there, I wanted to make sure to find back up options. I'm going out there this December!! :D

We took the shuttle from our hotel on the way there, and then used the public bus on the way back :)
Crazy that the sun was setting at 1pm!!!

Great video!! Norway is BEAUTIFUL 🤩 Hey did you notice, when out on deck, 326/327 mark, talking there was an Orca in water behind you?? I’m sure it was a black orca fin pop out of the water. WOW!!! Orca’s and humpback whales 🐋 ❤❤❤ Dang, what a cool experience!!!! ANNND!! The GORGEOUS NORTHERN LIGHTS!!!!

We didn't notice the orca until our last edits😂 so funny we filmed orcas and had no idea!!! It was such an incredible day, and the northern lights just topped it off! Thanks for commenting Cindy!! We missed your comments! :)

@@JacobandJennyTravel I'm sorry, but I was a bit mean😔😔 the shot is from Ersfjordbotn, a fjord on Kvaløya about 40km from Sommarøy. I know because I live about 150m from where the shot was taken. But don't worry about it, even Visit Island has used Ersfjordbotn in a commercial 🙀🙀
I think you understand why I am crazy about Norway :) I haven't been on Sommarøy yet, but it is in my bucket list. I have seen quite many videos and a lot of photos from there and definitely want to visit. It's about 1400 km from my home so it means that the theoretical driving time is 22 hours.

@@JacobandJennyTravel I have actually made a route plan for such trip, but I don't know when that will happen. I planned that I will drive first through Finland to Tromsø, then Sommarøy and then take a ferry to Senja, then from there to Andøya and later back via northern Sweden. I have been to Lofoten islands and continental areas near them but not on Senja or Vesterålen area yet.

Happy you liked Northern Norway. But it’s pronounced Tromsø and Sommarøy. Also, the Arctic Ocean is extremely pure and clean. Most places has very clear water, but of course the white beaches makes it even more beautiful on Sommarøy. Also, I recommend going there in the summer. The beaches definitely looks like they belong on a tropical island
