( since blackpink really popular in malaysia ) and most of interviews show always mentioning about blackpink to them. When they went to shoppi event, the opening was literally them dancing to blackpink song then to theirs and on this one vatery ( idk how to spell welp SKSKSK ) show they introduce dolla with blackpink song ( hylt ) it was so awkward for them and thats how blonk started to thrown hates even more and not to mention malaysian's netizen also . Currently many Malaysians are into blackpink so when they see Dolla, they just hate them for having similarities with blackpink which I can't even see 🙂 Dolla said it by themselves that they look up to Little Mix, so yeah that's why their style is more to Western vibe. I am actually Malaysian and I NEVER KNEW about this.Blackpink is LIKE REALLY popular in Malaysia.3/4 of kpop songs that play on the radio in Malaysia is Blackpink songs, not saying that's bad though.And please, just because they have the amount of members , doesn't mean they copy, not a fan of Blackpink but like some of their songs,I don't really see they are copying.Hair, really??JUST BECAUSE THEY'RE HAIR ARE SAME, doesn't mean they are copying.Sometimes I think some fans just take so far.I just realised I've been living under a rock for a long time, I live in the country where it is happening and yes,I di see most Malaysians kind of sticking to the kind of Western countries makeup and it is very remisnistic .Honestly, I think both groups are great.

as a malaysian and an dolla stan, I don't think they are copying bp. as sabronzo said "kita tak boleh comparekan MPop dengan KPop", which means that "we cant compare mpop to kpop". they have more of a western and Malaysia vibe than a kpop vibe.

I love how open-minded Johnny is and thinks for himself instead of jumping on the hate bandwagon. We should always see both sides.

Both groups have their own concept and style of course some bigger name become their inspiration. I'm very happy you see the huge differences and speak wisely about it I've never see something like Dolla in Malaysia music industry before they debuted. They really bring the change and in it. i believe the criticism will not stop them to keep going

Guess im 5 months late to this video haha, new fan of your channel. Anyways, as a Malaysian, i do think that the reason why kpop got so big and leading is that it is experimental and revolutionary, just like Michael Jackson in his time and thats totally fine. I was born in 2000s era and noticed that most Malaysian styles of songs are relatively still traditional, as in the pulling of notes and other things in general. We havent really branch out yet and kpop has gone way past that. I do think its completely fine for DOLLA to do this because it is somewhat breaking Malaysia's norm in music and image as we are relatively conservative. It may not get as big and it still may get some dislikes but its a new step for us. Same goes for KAACHI(not sure the spelling sry), they are still learning and we are still learning. Who knows what the future of music will be. Im just stating my thoughts because as a kpop fan, i do notice that fandoms sometimes get slightly toxic because we get too sucked in the idea of *idol* and me as well. We should take a step back and keep enjoying kpop but also let other artist from any nationality grow in whichever way they want.
