That isn't the canon. The canon was that Charles was always a spider. Then some old natives attacked the spider. He went inside a Charles mining train(Warren Charles lll) to protect himself from attacks. He got revenge and killed everyone.

Apparently the eggs are supposed to release spiders and if the egg hatches near a object it'll fuse with it so most likely the egg was being transported on warren charle's train and hatched if you use mods and noclip near charles you'll see "charles" in a circle on the side of a train
